Road to California 2011

Well what can we say….we had a blast in sunny southern California again…our booth was packed most of the time….the other vendors were coming over to see what was going on in our booth…I flew in from Nebraska on Wednesday with two hours left to set up…Nick had most of it done except for the quilts in my suitcase…we finished up and went out to Antonio’s for supper…it was good to see my husband again…Thursday was the first day of the show…we were swamped and it went fast.  At 6pm we closed up the booth and headed to the classrooms to teach until 10pm…we had 26 wonderful ladies who all stayed awake long enough to hear what I had to teach them…this was only a 3 hour class…much to teach and get through…Friday was an exact repeat of Thursday….booth was swamped…helped ladies all day take home more projects for their stashes and then at night taught them all my secrets!…by now I am just about beat… I am so glad I had the opportunity to teach during the show.  Look for my classes next year if you missed out, girls!   Sat. and Sunday were only half-days…no teaching at night…so I recovered….here are some pics of Road2CA…

    Hi Lisa

I am so enjoying your blogs and the photos are amazing. How I wish I didn’t live so far away.

I have quite a few of your patterns and also a couple of kits put away ready to make a start on. I’m trying to be good and not have too many projects on the go, so far it is working!!!!!

Your booth looks just fabulous,it made me ooh and ahh.

I loved your booth. Had a nice bagful when I left it! Hope you’re going to be in Long Beach later this year!

Lisa, I love the photos from your class but I have a question–the students working on the wool projects look like they have a piece of mylar or other plastic that they are using. What is that and the purpose? The pieces they are working on look so perfect, so I can only guess that they are marking the design on the plastic and using that for placement?

And Nick in his Packers shirt–that is GREAT. Go Pack! Hoping that they pick apart that Steelers defense!

The class was great! I got so much done. However, I forgot to write down the length of the Dovo scissors you let us try. Which pair was I drooling on? And when did you take the pix of your booth? Every time I went by, it was wall to wall women and a line down the aisle waiting to pay! Thanks again for the great class.
