Nick and I have run away from home…. can you guess where we were???
We had a blast and it was the perfect get-a-way!!!!
Our warehouse employees have participated in a little Holiday Cheer and each have decorated a stocking to decorate the warehouse…
I am a little impressed with one in particular..
Can you tell what it is? My son Jake loves his Jetski…can you see the man hanging on while he is doing a flig? Notice the waves??? I must advice him a little on his sewing skills though? He used mostly staples…LOL..
In my last post I showed you my cookies I make every year…here is the recipe: Star Cut-Out Cookies Enjoy!!!!LB
Hi Lisa,
I have a handy hint for rolling out sugar cookies and you don’t even need to chill the dough over night. Roll the mixed dough between sheets of parchment paper. Place the rolled out dough, still on the parchment paper into the freezer on a cookie sheet for 10-15 minutes. cut the dough into the desired shapes and bake on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. The other bonus with this method, is that if the shapes for your cookies are complicated, it’s easier to keep the desired shape as the dough is stiff from being chilled and you’re not adding any extra flour to the dough. See you in Temecula!
Are you in Chicago???? My daughter would love the penguin display!
The Mall of America
My guess would also be Mall of America
Man, I’d like to be snooping around that warehouse right now !!!! OVERLOAD ! It’s too hot in Jacksonville for Christmas.
Thanks you for the recipe and for clearing up the shortening. There is no such thing as butter shortening in Canada but we will enjoy the recipe with the straight stuff. The Christmas books is well worth getting for all the rest of the goodies.

Thanks so much for the recipe Lisa. I printed it and will try to make them tomorrow.
My guess is Mall of America. Hope you had a great getaway. I love the penguins.
How can we get the cookbook?
I think Mall of America. Thank you so much for the recipe. I’ll make them tomorrow! I also found the book and ordered it–can’t wait to get it. Thank you for being so kind to all of us (and patient with me!) Merry Christmas!
I thought Jake’s stocking was creative and then I read that he used staples! That is too funny. Thanks for making my morning!
Bellagio in Las Vegas??
YES!!!!
I loved Vegas….first time we were there!

Hi Lisa, Thanks for the receipe, I wonder how they would turn out using butter (no shortening)? I’ll give it a try for Easter cut out cookies. In the “olde” days they used the fat right from the animal. Well, I don’t want to go back to those olden days-butter sounds old enough for me. The buttermilk sitting overnight sounds so good. I have a receipe from my grandma for oatmeal muffins that does the same thing w/buttermilk, yummmm. Vegas sounds like lots of fun 😉 Merry Christmas, Debby
Merry CHRISTMAS from Alabama!
I just returned from the same escape and have the same pics, only my penguins are on my camera video—very cute!!!!
Had lots of fun–ate lots of food–great restaurants—never won a million!!!!
Happy Holidays Diane
