Thursday, June 20: Lisa Bongean, teacher and designer of primitive wool design patterns and owner of Primitive Gatherings Quilt Shop in Menasha, Wisconsin, will present her trunk show “Working With Wool,” on Thursday, June 20th at the meeting of the Northwest Suburban Quilters Guild at Concorde Banquets in Kildeer, IL. Lisa is a designer for Moda Fabrics and a major contributor to “Primitive Quilting Magazine.”  Guest cost is $7; doors open at 6:30 p.m. Concorde Banquets, 20922 North Rand Road, Kildeer; 847-438-0025.

this last weekends events…

I posted a few days ago what I did last weekend while in GA, now this post is what I did this weekend…

Sorting the 3rd weeks Pieced BOW fabrics

IMG_9301 2Next I had to trace and stitch on the drawn lines….see my line I drew on my sewing machine to help me keep on target…place the corner of the square on the line….IMG_9304 2

IMG_9306 2Time to trim…use the rotating mat…but what is even better?  Using the whole mat and cutting all the right hand corners then turning and cutting all four again…repeating until you have all for sets done.

workin last weekend…

I have been working really hard lately and it was nice to spend some time at the Lakehouse this weekend …last weekend I was in GA in East Cobb doing a couple of workshops and trunkshows…what a bunch of talented ladies…They have a show coming up this next weekend…I bought $20 worth of tickets for their raffle quilt…so if you are near…or if you want to buy some over the internet…and try to win the quilt instead of me…here is your chance…  quilt shown below…Raffle Quilt Raffle Quilt 2013 East Cobb Quilters

I promised to feature a few women designers from Quilt Market…and here is the first…We all have done at least one of Kathi’s Designs…we do several of them as Blocks of the Month and the others we do as kits featuring our flannels and hand dyed wool as whole kits…

This is just a heads up that we will be doing a new Block of the Month which is not yet featured on Kathi’s site…but is shown here to the left of Kathi…We will be taking sign ups later on this summer…so look for our post explaining all the details!
