Today was another glorious teaching day here at the GH….,14 lovely quilters making 4″ wool appliqué blocks for the sweet little Summer Blooms quilt.
It’s such a wonderful place to relax and learn some new techniques to add to our love of quilting…
This event is held the same time every year.. It is called the Needle Art Seminar and the Grand Hotel puts it on, treating all of us quilters like Queens! Each of the ladies in class today got between 2-6 blocks put down and then we learned all the stitches necessary to complete this quilt.
Tonight I’m skipping the formal meal and instead I’m stitching into the wee hours of the night… It is quilt market time next week… I’ll show you my progress tomorrow… Wish you all could enjoy this place…,well there’s always next year!

Summer Blooms is gorgeous! Is this a new pattern? Would love to make it! Hope you take time to enjoy this beautiful place, after all your hard work at Paducah, you need some time for yourself!
That is a gorgeous little quilt! Did Linda quilt it for you?
I am intrigued by the blocks made with the dark background, and trying to visualize that on a finished quilt.
Looking forward to seeing what you are making for Market!
Deep breath in…deep breath out…if you ever need a break from your crazy schedule and want to visit a bucket list show in Sisters Oregon my door is open to you and Nick 🙂
So beautiful. Love Mackinac Island and wool stitching…I guess I should have been there instead of packing my home to move to MI. Hoping to be in a class with you in the near future. Thanks for sharing and good luck at Market. Hugs
Thanks for sharing the pictures with us! Such an incredible experience it must be!
Saw the posting on the new Summer Block of the Week, you have as usual out done yourself. So beautiful.
Question, does the pay in advance free week apply if you pick it up at the store too? Thanks again, peg
