found treasure…!

One of the best things about visiting other states is going to their antique shops and coming home with a prize or two…or so…Here are a few from my last visit to Texas…lisa bongeanI get this feeling that there is something out there just waiting for me to discover it…this tiny boat baby quilt must have been sending out the vibes and just about the last store we went into…there it was proudly displayed, just waiting for me to notice in in one of the many booths…also the tiny ironing board and the smallest little iron!  Then I’m always a sucker for letters in a box…what can I spell… with what’s here…lisa bongean

so speaking of treasures…I have to send a few of our Primitive Gatherings treasures off to new homes where they will bring joy and be loved…we have added quilts to the ETSY STORE…just click the link and you will be there to see some real booty…maybe ones quilted by a famous quilter or two!!!…see what treasures you can bring home!

Have a great Saturday…its beautiful here…lots of workers here at the lake…(that turd brown house color with more turn brown trim… may finally be out of my life…)they are working on the outside of “boathouse”…today I may swim like a kid again…86 degrees here today…Yay!IMG_6863

Quilting and quilting ….

In the last day I’ve been quilting… Machine quilting… This new quilt with “songbird gatherings”…that will be featured soon…

And then hand quilting… It’s now warm enough for some morning stitching out on the back porch… But the back porch is

getting a new floor…
So…my frame is in the kitchen… Maybe it should stay here… I’ve been makin some progress…this quilt ISvgoing to be done by the end of summer… A little bit at a time…

Remember to visit Farmhouse Threads today to start the harvest mystery blog hop!

Going to pull weeds at the Northridge house that is for sale…there’s a showing today.. Yay!

Have a good day!

Harvest Mystery Quilt Blog Hop!

Our Christmas Mystery Quilt Blog Hop was so popular last year – we are doing it again!! For 12 weeks, beginning June 17th we will share with you free patterns from some of our favorite designers to complete a Harvest Mystery Quilt just in time for the season.  Each week, one designer will post the pattern to make a Harvest block using wool appliqué on cotton fabric.  The patterns are free for you to download and print, and kits will be for sale individually by the designers. Week 12 will include the instructions to put all of these blocks together with some fun borders to complete your quilt.  Finishing kits will be available from Farmhouse Threads.  Make sure you sign up for each designer’s blog/website to receive the free patterns. Please share our blog hop with your friends and have them follow along!  Click HERE for a PDF print out of the following dates and designers.

Hey…I’m in Texas hanging out and teaching for the Baytown Quilt Guild…what fun ladies…we all starting making Christmas time wool tablemat in class yesterday…and I was so busy and we had such a great class I forgot to take pictures of it!!! so bummed…but while I’m here I have been staying at a wonderful retreat house…Ronda, my host set me up well…hung out with me and we stitched when we were not eating, lecturing or teaching…What I do have pics of is Ronda’s retreat house…And sew it began…is the name of the retreat house…It sleeps 16 and is just so beautiful..the house was build in the early 1900s with lots of character, located in La Porte TX…IMG_6715Texas where I am is very soggy..this grass was very saturated and very squishy…very green too!!!Here are some more pics..3

IMG_6683Almost every room has it’s own bathroom and there is even a sleeping porch for one lucky person to sleep in…Aren’t this little crochet dresses so cute!IMG_6680IMG_6681IMG_6677
So if you are looking for a great place to hand out and stitch…here is the site for the retreat house…HERE is the link for the retreat house….here is the link to Ronda’s BLOG…and yes Ronda’s name is spelled without the “h”…lol  She probably has much better photos on her site…Thanks Ronda for all you did for me during my stay.

Tomorrow through Saturday I will be teaching at Quilter’s Emporium in Stafford, TX…I will be teaching a bunch of Stitching Essentials…The pillow has some secret hideaways for your needles, scissors and blocks…These are un-published designs and will be coming out sometime this year….RoseAnn has had some cancellations due to all the flooding here…so if you get this and want to come take a class give her a call and see if you can get in one! The phone number is 281-491-0016…the rivers here are so high…I can see how much higher it was and thats a whole lot of water! My heart goes out to those with flooded homes…I used to get a little water in the basement when the sump pump would fail…but i can’t imagine being flooded…I can’t wait to meet my students tomorrow…we are going to have a blast!!!
