Good Morning…from Houston…Block Head link…

I am up early due to three fire alarms gong off in our room this morning!!! Good thing it was 5am and not 2 or I would be in trouble!!! Not much sleep happening after that…but we are gong to finish setting up the booth today…after getting a great start on it last night…

But it is Block Head Wednesday and I want to give you the link to where to go for this weeks block…I can’t wait to get back in my sewing room to catch up on my Block Heads blocks…it was so inspiring to see all the quilts from Block Heads 1 this past weekend…

This week is BLOCK 30 from Brigette from ZEN CHIC…https://www.brigitteheitland.de/blog/quilt-along-blockheads-2018-block-30

I was able to have lunch at the “Lakehouse” one day at Quilt Market with Brigette…she is so interesting and fun!

I know some of you are disappointed (I got a little hate mail) that I am behind in posting the other designers blocks in my fabrics I have picked out to do…I assure you I will get to them…and I refuse to give these to someone else to piece…I want to piece them and pick them out. So that is why I am not always caught up…my plate(s) are full and I fulfill my commitments first then I can do extra…and my commitments was for 6 Blockhead blocks…but I will catch up with everything as there are no travel commitments in December… just running two shops, designing fabrics, working on Needful things, coming out with new products…oh…yeah and maybe celebrating Jesus’s birthday with my family!!!!

Back on track here…sorry about that…

We had a sort of reunion at QM for Moda Blockheads 1, because….our book is coming out soon! Please go to this Instagram link I have inserted here below this photo to view them on Martingale’s Instagram feed…I have this shot of mine in my booth at QM but visit the link to see all 6.

This is all I have for you today…but soon I will be sharing some NEW things that are being introduced here in Houston in our booth and on our website!!!

My best,

Lisa

Thank you for all you do Lisa. Don’t stress about the negative comments and what others expect of you. Just do what you need to for you and everything will fall into line in time. We love what you do and doing the projects you provide. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now. You can do it. Hang in there.

You do a great job, Lisa! It amazes me that people can be so hateful these days. If you can’t say something nice, keep your mouth shut! Can’t wait to see everything since we (me, Kitty and Cindy) can’t make Houston this year. All our best to you!

Good morning! I always love getting your posts on Wednesdays for the links to the new Blockheads Round 2 blocks. BUT – today there seem to be 3 different version of the block pattern floating around. (I’m not even including that FPP one in that tally.) I’ve notified an admin on the Facebook page, but maybe you want to say something about the link, or disable it for now? I don’t know. . . . Since the designer made a paper-pieced pattern too, I didn’t add to the confusion by putting up my usual FPP today.

Sorry that you have had some hate mail, crikey we all have other commitments, that’s why we all have ufo’s! Back down grumpy folks, this is supposed to be fun!

I’m so sorry you’ve had ANY negative response. You are the hardest working and creative store owner!!! Always worth the wait!

Patience, Consideration and Common Decency just seem to be forgotten in this age of “Keyboard Commandos”. People are so quick to say things when hidden behind a computer that they would never have the nerve to say to you in person. Please don’t give the “nasty grams” a second thought. You do what you can when you can, and hopefully in the meantime, the authors of your hate mail will learn some of their forgotten social skills! 😊

Lisa, some people are rude, but to complain because they aren’t getting “free things on time” is ridiculous! Take it all with a grain of salt! Sorry Cindy, Elaine and I won’t see you this time but I sent money with another friend to purchase a couple of items for me!

Enjoy your blog. I, unfortunately, asked off work for the wrong weekend or I would be in Houston this weekend instead of last weekend. However my brother and I did the quilt shops!!!

Ignore the hate mail!! You do so much and contribute so much to the quilting industry. I am totally amazed at all that you accomplish – I would be totally bonkers!! Have a great time in Houston. Can’t wait for your new book!

Lisa, May you have a wonderful month of December celebrating the holidays with your friends and family. You are a busy woman and I would like to see any one of these people try to keep up with you. There is so much negativity and hate and violence in our world. Your Blog is a place for all of us to escape to and work on projects as we have time. I agree if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all

You are not the first blogger to mention getting some hate email – I am so disappointed about the way people treat each other – it is so wrong and discouraging, especially for you. The vast majority of your followers just go with the flow and understand how truly busy you are and did they forget to read that Nick had been ill? Just craziness. Good luck at Quilt Market and we all look forward to seeing what new items you come up with.

I am so sorry for “hate mail” sent to you…sometimes I just don’t understand people and why they have to do this.

I too am sorry for “hate mail” you have received. I always thought quilters were above that. These last few months have taught me differently. I hope you get some rest soon and enjoy the holidays with your family.

Goodness, I hope you haven’t gotten more than one hate mail. Even one is too much. We are all quilters and quilters are supposed to be friendly and compassionate. Please, just delete and continue to do what is important and fun for you. I am always glad to hear from you when you are able to post, but when I don’t hear, I know you are busy with your life, and I pray that family illness isn’t keeping you away. Soldier on, but at your own pace!

    Beautiful Blockheads quilt!
I just picked up some of your Flower Garden Gatherings line at Village Dry Goods today. Was so excited to find it! Great range of colors, and sweet designs. Thanks, Lisa!

You are one of the most generous and talented designers . There is NO reason for hate mail
Hit that delete and or block button for the ungrateful rude commenters! They probably dont purchase anything and just expect handouts! 😖
To the haters: GET REAL! This is How a designer makes a living!. She owes you NOTHING!

Oh my! I cringe when I hear of hate mail to any of the generous Block Head designers (or really any designer). I enjoy studying the posted blocks on Facebook and thinking of where I would put the solid, the darks, the lights…..and then seeing how you end up piecing the block….my time in my sewing room keeps me balanced….and sometimes planning in my mind is all the time for creating that I have. Thank you for being willing to share your talents with us…..even with those who insist on being “fun suckers”!
