So… all good things must come to an end… I’m sad this I almost over but then… we are starting to plan another if this ends well…look for it starting in Fall…
Please read the whole post before ordering…to make sure you have seen everything.
I want to make sure you have seen the finishing options for patterns and kits… for both a pieced version and an appliqué version…this was in the block kits we sent out last month…
If you are just downloading the patterns each month and using your own fabrics that is wonderful…but here is your chance to support us for doing this Stitch Along…You can order the finishing patterns or any of the kits if they will work with your blocks….We really appreciate your support of our shop and we want to continue to be able to do these fun adventures…there are so many shops and designers closing up shop…we do not want to be one of them…if you do not need anything from us for Moon Garden…order something else to help us out!
Thanks for showing us your blocks on FB and for hanging out allowing all to see what you create!
WARNING: Finishing Kits will be shipping in May…if you have ordered promptly.(like already have done so)..If you have lingered it will take longer, because we will have to order more fabric…and all of that takes time when you have to order in bulk…We will be cutting off all finishing kit orders around April 15th…for last call…but your finishing kits will take longer if you keep putting it off…just letting you know ahead of time, or there are no surprises or sad customers.
The pieced version is back from Maggie, the Long arm quilter and it simple but fantastic!!! You do not see much in those busy backgrounds…
The appliqué version is in the process of being hand stitched yet… but here is a closeup of the wools and how beautiful they are…
Also…I have had lots of inquiries on making the appliqué version with the printed backgrounds…so here is a computer mock- up of that…I have added black muslin sashing around each block. The blocks will have to be cut down a little smaller to adjust the border to fit…I think it looks great as well, but we need to carry some of the black muslin in the center of the quilt for co-heisiveness.
You will just have to order the appliqué border option and then 2 extra yards for the sashing…this is so it will not have to be pieced…We will add a quick addition to the pattern to any order appliqué border option that has the 2 yds of muslin on it. Do not trim your blocks until you have the pattern…as we had to adjust it to fit..
We also have great pricing on backings if you order that at the same time.
Click this link for a quick link for ordering the extra muslin or it is 1040-26 in the search engine…Black Primitive Muslin

Again…thanks for being apart of this great SAL…we will see you on our Moon Garden Facebook Group…we keep cheering each other on…
The black muslin shows out of stock. Really want to sash this quilt and need 2 yards. Already have ordered the appliqué finishing kit. Will more be coming in stock and how can I pre order to make sure I get some?
Lisa, I just want to say this was a really fun project to watch come together. I’m a little behind but the finishing kit coming in May makes me want to get this caught up now! I already ordered my finishing kit. Can I have the 2 yards of black muslin just added to my order to ship in May?
I love the finishing details for the wool applique Moon Garden and have just ordered the finishing kit as well as the backing fabric. Am a little confused about the black Moda flannel for the sashing. Is that part of the finishing kit I just ordered, or is it a separate order in case I want to cut down my blocks and add the flannel sashing? I read through your blog 2-3 times and looked at the pictures but despite my best efforts may have overlooked or misunderstood this information. Thanks for a beautiful project and for your help. And here’s wishing you a terrific cruise. Cristie McGuire
