Twilight Stars Quilt Along – Block Release #33

Are you ready for the weekend? I sure am! It’s been raining and dreary for several days in a row here, so I’ve had even more reason than usual to stay indoors and stitch. Not to mention, we had not one, but two Sit & Stitch sessions back-to-back this week. Needless to say, with all the extra stitch time my productivity rate has been even more crazy than usual, but there’s no complaints here! I’ve accomplished a lot, but there’s always more to do!

Since it’s Friday, if you’re looking for something new to stitch on for the weekend, Thanks to Twilight Stars, I’ve already got you covered! This week the lucky block numbers are #17 and #85!

Thank you to everyone for doing such a great job posting your finished blocks each week… Please keep it up! It’s literally spectacular to see so many beautiful blocks on display all in once place. You should all be extremely proud of your progress! If you haven’t posted yet, you still can. You might even win a prize for it, too! All you have to do is post a photo of your completed blocks each week before the release of the next batch, including the required book Triangle Gatherings and Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper in the picture. Please also include the hashtag #TwilightStarsQAL in your post! Heidi will choose a winner each week until the end of the QAL, which we will announce during my LIVE show on Thursday. The prize for sharing his block photos for Week #32 goes to, Terri Fullner Uden! Excellent work, Terri! And way to be ahead of the game with your Valentine’s Day décor. Your charm pack and caramels mailed out this morning!

New to Twilight Stars QAL? If so, WELCOME! As always, patterns can be found in my book Triangle Gatherings (required to participate along with a few other items), which can be purchased on the Primitive Gatherings website by clicking HERE. Blocks will be posted every Friday around NOON Central Standard Time, with a correlating blog post shortly after. Block releases can be found both here on the blog and in the “Quilt-Along” area under “Twilight Stars” at http://www.lisabongean.com. Never even heard of Twilight Stars? You can read all about it by clicking HERE. In addition, a full list of details and required supplies can be found at the Twilight Stars Info Page by hitting the button below!

Well friends… Something about the sound of the pouring rain pounding on our steel rooftop is making me want to hang it up for the day, even though it’s not even 3 p.m. yet. Maybe I need to run around the block to get my blood moving! Too bad it’s the WI January Monsoon out there. My luck I’d probably slip in a slush pile and break a leg… I think I’ll skip it.

I hope you all have a great weekend! Are you doing anything fun? How do you cope when Mother Nature has her fits and forces you to stay inside? Let me know in the comments for a chance to win a nice little prize. And speaking of that, congratulations to Terri S. and Sue H.! They are each getting happy mail, just for leaving a comment. It’s that easy (if you think you are one of the lucky winners, please check your email! Heidi will be contacting you to confirm). See you Monday, everyone! ~Lisa

This rainy weekend will be fun!! Our 6 3/4 year old Granddaughter will be with us this weekend! We like to stomp in the rain puddles! Once inside, we take off our rainboots and laugh about how big the puddle is!! Then we’ll make cookies to eat while we watch one of our favorite movies!

The dreary days are adding up. Hope to see the sun soon. Stitch on!

No sun in our forecast for another week or two at least. Hang in there!!!

We’re finally getting some sun today. When we were getting Arctic weather, I stayed inside and sewed a couple projects and made chili. Love comfort food 😉

I am in quilting heaven at a retreat with 12 of my best quilting friends. Working on my Quilt box Joyful Jubilee quilt. It doesn’t get any better than this!

Well I have been stitching all last week plus more. AL was hit with a crippling ice storm. Couldn’t get out for a week. You see, when AL gets ice, everything shuts down. They don’t have many plows to clear roads. So people complain that they can’t get their 15 gallons of milk, 10 loaves of bread, etc. I was prepared. Had my bread machine going and was well stocked with wine. After that cleared, we had flooding rains, thunderstorms and possible tornadoes scheduled for tomorrow. Don’t mind being stuck inside with my puppy and working on those stinkin cornerstones for Joyful QAL. Thx Lisa for all you do.

Hi Karen, we spent the Thanksgiving holiday at our nephew’s new house near Hayden. They moved N from Montgomery. What a difference in temps! Maybe we’ll even make a visit in the summer.

Just arrived in Biloxi MS camping. While they are calling for rain tonite, I’m well prepared with my Juki and Twilight Stars to get caught up on. If it doesn’t rain, I’m hoping to take a walk on the beach!
Thanks for all you do for us! I always look forward to your LIVES!!

Watching 2 grand girls 5 & 12 while parents take a well deserved break on the beach in Jamaica! Will stitch while they are in school and craft and bake on the weekend! Making Opa a birthday cake!🎂🥰 🧵

I love rainy days. It gives me the excuse to be able to stitch or knit longer without feeling guilty. I also love making big batches of homemade soups – tomorrow it’s going to be cheesy bacon potato (that’s if I have some bacon left in the freezer – if not, I’ll have to leave it out), and a couple of loaves of homemade bread. My dog gets his 3 walks in our woods regardless of the weather – he’s a 3 1/2 year old goldendoodle that needs his ‘snifaries’ and it gets me off my butt too. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend whatever they end up doing!

I don’t mind the rainy warm weather. I just bought 2 blooming violets and they make me smile. The snow is melting away. I’m thinking of Spring! I just got home from spending Sit &Stitch at PG and want to finish my project this weekend. I’m going to a 2 day quilt retreat Monday & Tuesday so need to prep some projects. Saturday I’m going to spend the day baking 2 batches of Lisa’s oatmeal choc chip cookies. They are the best. That’s the only kind of cookie that’s ever in the cookie jar. Thanks Lisa for that recipe!

The best method of coping for any bad situation is to pull out the quilting supplies!

It’s pretty dreary here, in SE Michigan, too! Staying inside and sewing, sit itching and watching floss tube, and watching the 10 day for any signs of sun heading this way! Of course, I’m always up for a trip to my local quilt shop to break up the day and find some more quilting inspiration!

Truthfully, I’ve been happy about the gloomy and rainy days. I go nowhere except to my quilt studio to quilt, piece or embroider! It’s my little slice of heaven on earth! 🌍🥰

I’m not participating in this QAL but enjoying the posts & everyone’s pics of their blocks. Last week with 2 snow storms we received 7” which was beautiful after 2 winters of no snow to speak of. Quickly went from below freezing temps to higher temps & rain. So will be watching the Ravens vs the Chiefs play in more rain & cold temps but we’ll have the fireplace keeping us warm. Can’t stitch during the game as I would have to redo later.

What a great QAL! I love seeing all the varieties depending on the fabric line chosen. I am a few blocks behind but hope to catch up soon! Stay warm in WI!

Wow! Time goes fast. I need to get caught up and get last week and this week’s blocks finished. Then I need to lay everything out to see how many blocks I have in each color. When all this started I decided to use up some of my Jo Morton fabric….and then I went shopping and added more fabrics to the pile. Holy cow!
I hope you all have a good weekend. I just hope I can stay on task and not get distracted.

The weather here in Northern California has been unseasonably rainy, perfect for staying in and sewing! Recovering from respiratory thing finally but it really cut into my sewing as it zapped my energy. Thanks for all you and your crew do for us!
