Twilight Stars Quilt-Along – Block Release #40

Lordy, lordy, look who’s 40 – weeks old, that is! As hard as it is to believe, the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along has reached its 40th week! That means we’re officially in the home stretch toward the end of this year-long journey, with only ten block releases left to go. If you’re keeping up with the QAL schedule, you should have a whopping 78 finished blocks in your stack. 78!!! It hardly feels like we’ve been at it that long… Isn’t it amazing how time is flying!? In an effort not to waste any more, let’s cut to the chase and get on with your assignment for week #40! Please add block numbers 18 and 25 to the list!

40 weeks in means 39 prizes have been given out to QAL participants so far, just for sharing their work to our social media pages! Want a chance at one of the last ten? All you have to do to participate is post a photo of your completed blocks for the week along with the required book, Triangle Gatherings and Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper included in the picture. You can post it on either our Facebook or Instagram pages (or both!) including the hashtag #TwilightStarsQAL. The winner for Week #39 is Donna Mae! She loves how her quilt is turning out so much that she decided to make it bigger than she originally planned. I guess that means she’s going to need more fabric… Good news Donna – your charm pack is on the way!!!

Not participating in the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along but still want a chance to win a prize? Leave me a comment here on the blog and you might just be the next lucky winner! Take Maureen G. and Teri L. for example… They each have a prize on the way for their comments last week (if you think you are one of these lucky winners, please check your email for a prize confirmation letter from Heidi)!!!

Alright stitchers, that’s a wrap! The sun is out and the temps are mild so I’m going to try and get a little sun before it cools off again over the next few days. I’ll see you all next week for our usual episode of CommentSold on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. CST for sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there is also a “pop-up” sale on Monday as well. You know… to kick the week off right! I think I heard Jess saying something about a “pre-cut-palooza…” Whatever that means. I guess you’ll have to tune in to find out!!! Until then have a great weekend, and do your best to stitch every day! See you soon! ~Lisa

So many great quiltalongs! I wish I had time to do them all, but I watch everyone’s progress anyway. This one is enticing. I bought the book and have used a lot of the blocks as centers in various quilts, and maybe someday I can make this one you all are working on. It’s going to be great fun to see the completed quilts!

I wish I would have participated in Twilight Stars. I love your fabric and the design, but had too many WIPs. HOWEVER, I am participating in O say can you sew II. Scared but excited.

    Hi all
I see so many people really enjoying the sew along. I have some UFOs to finish before I start anything new. I put myself on punishment. But the few project I did participated in were fun and a great reward in the end.

I finished my Twighlight Stars and made it only 57×57. Love it. I enjoyed it so much I made a quilt using the 1/2 square triangles as corner stones on another quilt.

I look forward to the block release each week. I have been quilting for less than a year so this has been an amazing experience for me! I have improved my cutting skills no end! Thank you for sharing your talents!

The sun is shining in Wisconsin and the sky is a pretty blue. I’m celebrating a Wisconsin win over Purdue! Now it’s time to get that needle moving and get my blocks put together. Week 40, here I come!
