Twilight Stars Quilt-Along – Block Release #41

I hate to say it, but instead of the second day of spring it’s beginning to look a lot more like Christmas outside than anything else! Many of us woke up to the bright white glare of snow coming through our windows this morning, rather than the barely green and brown grass we were all looking at just yesterday. In our area, we saw about 3-4″ of new snow, with more in the forecast for Sunday. As you can imagine, there’s been a lot of grumbling about it (Nick included), however in reality we desperately needed the moisture, so I’m not about to complain. Instead I will embrace the perfect excuse to stay indoors and stitch – as if I ever need one!

If you’re anywhere in Wisconsin or the surrounding states, you’re most likely in a similar weather boat, making the next Twilight Stars Quilt-Along block release a convenient delivery. Get your comfies on, hunker down, and get ready for block numbers 40 and 56!

Want to win a prize for your hard work? All you have to do to participate is post a photo of your completed blocks for the week along with the required book, Triangle Gatherings and Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper included in the picture. You can post it on either our Facebook or Instagram pages (or both!) including the hashtag #TwilightStarsQAL. The winner for Week #40 is Deb Worthman! Despite a few hangups getting her blocks posted thanks to Facebook, her perseverance paid off! Beautiful work, Deb! A charm pack and a few extra goodies are on the way!

With only about eight weeks left in the QAL, I feel the countdown to the end is officially on! I haven’t quite decided yet if I will do 50 weeks (based on the 100 blocks in the book) or 52 (so it truly is a year-long QAL). Time will tell. Either way, you can make as many blocks as you need to suit the quilt you’re making. And for those of you who have been asking for finishing instructions, they’re coming! I’m in the process of dotting all my i’s and crossing all my t’s as we speak. They should be ready sometime more near the end of the quilt-along.

Alright gang, that’s it for this week aside from giving a couple of thank you prizes away on my way out the door! Special thanks goes out to Linda K. and Lauren D. for their comments on the blog last week! Thank, you thank you! Heidi will be sending you one of her famous prizes as soon as she hears from you (if you think you’re one of these lucky winners, check your email for a prize confirmation letter from Heidi)!!! I’ll see you all back here on Monday. Have a great weekend! ~Lisa

As always, lovely blocks!!! I was hoping to get several blocks done this weekend and next week to make up for a very late start on this sewalong, but it probably won’t happen now, as my dad passed away yesterday. I can see a little sewing time for therapeutic purposes making an appearance, but I doubt I do alot now. It wasn’t unexpected though, still never easy. On the bright side, I received my special prize from Heidi for commenting on your blog a couple of weeks ago yesterday and love it all……..fun and special! Thank you for all the great inspiration, sewalongs, and fun unexpected treasures in prizes you do for all of us. You and all at PG are the best!

Thanks for the update about finishing instructions. I was going to start sewing some basic sashing to blocks, but I want to see your ideas because they are probably more creative than I am ❤️

Oh boy! Am I the lucky Linda K. who won a prize last week?? No note from Heidi yet, so maybe it’s just wishful thinking. 🙂
I’m just wishing I could catch up and play with Twilight Stars! I had big hopes I could make all 100 blocks, but I’m so far behind I think it might be a couple of years before I get it all done! However, I’m going to do my best to get the Sew Along 2 done first. Oh so many ideas and so little time!

I sure like your newsletter. These blocks are so pretty. I love your no nonsense teaching videos. You show us how really easy it is to make these blocks.
I love winter. Wish we would have had more snow in NW Arkansas this year.

Enjoy your snowy weekend. I’ll be sewing while it’s windy and rainy here in VA.
