Introducing the Primitive Gatherings 2024 Blue & White Quilt Show!
It’s getting to be that time again… Are YOU ready for the next Primitive Gatherings Quilt Show??? For 2024, we’ve decided to go with another traditional favorite for our quilt show theme – Blue and white! Looking back to the old days, because of their practical availability, it often seems like earth tones such as browns and tans were the most widely used colors to make quilts in more “primitive” settings. Luckily, as time went on, quilters gained better access to a variety of other color options as dye makers improved their skills, and their product became more readily available and reliable to use. This resulted in a wider range of color combinations, including of course, our beloved blue and white.
Historically, blue was one of the most popular colors to use in quilting due to its general stability and longevity as a dye color. Symbolically, quilters have often used the color blue to express feelings of calmness, serenity, and comfort. It can also symbolize trust, loyalty, wisdom, confidence, intelligence, and faith. Or… maybe you just like the way blue looks with white, who knows! What I do know for sure, is that blue and white quilts are still some of the most desired around – take it from me! I have several antiques in my collection as we speak, not to mention a menagerie of modern designs I’ve come up with myself over the years. New or old, I never get sick of blue and white quilts! That’s why I’ve decided to make them the star of this year’s show. Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen – please welcome the 2024 Primitive Gatherings Blue & White Quilt Show!

Yay! I registered over the weekend and I am pumped! I have been gathering fabrics and planning. I am using a design from a book by a well known quilter but I have changed the colors to blue and white/cream as well as redesigning the sashing and outer border pattern. I hope that is okay… I already completed 3 of the large center blocks- so pretty! Thanks, Lisa.
Prizes from PG just for commenting on your blog are awesome, I can only imagine what awesome prizes you will have for this!! Can’t wait to see all the blue and white quilts……blue is always my color!!
Hi Rene! The address of the quilt show is The Gathering at Primitive Gatherings – 8567 South Loop Road in Larsen, WI. If you are planning to enter the quilt show, you will be provided with mailing labels when you download your information packet after your registration fee is paid. Happy quilting!
So exciting! How many can we send in? I have one I’ve made from some scraps of PG fabrics. I’m already dreaming of another one with Snowman Gatherings.
