Let’s Talk UNITY QUILT!

Hey, everyone! Are you anxiously waiting for more information on my next quilt-along? A while back I mentioned a new QAL that I’ve been working on for 2025, and the response has been nothing short of amazing! While I’m super happy that this QAL has already generated so much excitement, admittedly, when I first talked about it a couple of months ago I was still in the very early stages of dreaming it up, and the details were nowhere near ironed out yet. Little did I know how much buzz would start buzzin’ at the mere mention of a new QAL, so I apologize for making you wait while we got it all figured out. Now, without further ado, let’s talk Unity Quilt-Along!!!

The Unity Quilt-Along will be a year-long project that starts in January of 2025. It’s a free block of the week that will be super scrappy and include a TON of both light and dark half-square triangles (woo-hoo!), lots of color, and be 98″ x 98″ when finished. To add to the fun, I also thought this would be a great opportunity to do another one of my famous “mystery” projects. What I mean by that is, you will not know exactly what the finished project will look like until it all comes together in the very end!

Now don’t worry, I know it’s scary to jump into a project without knowing what the final results will be, but you can trust me – I would never have you make something that I didn’t have 100% confidence in. What I WILL tell you for sure about this project is that whether you are using your own fabric or you’re planning to use our kits, you will need a total of seven yards background fabric either way. To make things easy for you, there are three background fabrics to choose from which are available to pre-order now on a first come, first serve basis by clicking the buttons below! Please keep in mind that if you would like to make your quilt larger or with borders, you will need to purchase more fabric based on what you think you’ll need.

When ordering this fabric, you will be charged a non refundable reservation price of $2.00 per yard, and the remaining balance ($11.00 per yard) will be charged when the fabric is shipped to you. We are setting a tentative ship date of 02/24/25. That being said, we appreciate your patience in the event there are delays from our vendors, which is annoying, and inconvenient, and totally out of our control, but it does happen from time to time. Of course, we’ll keep you up to date if anything changes. PLEASE NOTE: We will have a sign up for receiving block fabrics up soon. The links above are for the Background fabric ONLY!

Are you excited yet? I know I sure am! There’s nothing quite like the feeling of starting a new long term project – especially one I can work on along side all of you! If you’ve never participated in a quilt-along but are thinking about giving it a shot… DO! Quilt-alongs are a great way to keep yourself on the right creative track to finishing a large and tedious project that you might not otherwise accomplish alone. It’s like having your own personal cheerleading squad right there with you, cheering you on all the way to the finish line. Not to mention, it’s super fun to compare how everyone’s final product turns out once it’s all over! And let me just say… I realize a year seems like a long time because it IS! But trust me – time will fly and you’ll have an awesome quilt to show off before you know it.

If you want to know more about the Unity Quilt-Along and haven’t had a chance to watch my LIVE show from last Thursday, I highly recommend catching the replay! I not only talk about Unity but also give an update on the arrival of the highly anticipated Bernette 08 Straight Stitch Sewing Machines, the upcoming Primitive Christmas event, our new hand-made wooden thread bowls, Fresh Cut Garden, our new mini barn quilt series, and more. Click the STITCH icon below to watch! As always, if you have any questions regarding the Unity QAL or anything PG related, please don’t hesitate to give the shop a call at 920-722-7233. You can also email store@primitivegatherings.us. Have a wonderful evening and I’ll see you all soon! ~Lisa

Well, I’m very interested! But I would like a king sized finish. So, how much background would you recommend? Did I mention I was excited?

Thanks for more information!! Unity looks kinda intimidating with alllllll those half square triangles, so I’m on the fence 😆. The minis are keeping me busy ❤️ and of course all my wool box projects ❤️. Have a wonderful week!!

This is something to look forward to during those gray days after the holidays when it starts to feel that winter is never going to end! Please repeat the info on the triangle paper we need—maybe mention it on the description of the background fabrics. (I can’t decide between teal and pink.)
