Happy Friday, everyone! After a week of stitching hard, meeting deadlines, shooting videos, and checking off to-do lists, Friday always feels like a breath of fresh air! It’s like the gateway to a well-deserved break and the time to slow down so we can enjoy the things that truly bring us joy – like stitch!
I need to do my best to get a good night’s rest tonight so that I can be ready to go for a full day of teaching both tomorrow and Monday at my annual All Things Pumpkin Retreat. As you can imagine, they will both be jam-packed days full of… well, all things pumpkin! Mornings kicks off with pumpkin lattes and fresh homemade pumpkin scones to get our creative juices flowing. Once settled in, we’ll get started working on NINE different pumpkin-themed wool projects, including a variety of pillows, and wall-hangings.
About half way through the day, we’ll take a break from class for a scratch-made, pumpkin-infused lunch followed by… You guessed it! Pumpkin-themed homemade desserts! OMG – I can’t wait!!! It’s always a great day and has become one of my favorite retreats of the year. It’s really no wonder this event books up before we even have much of a chance to advertise. What a problem to have!!! In fact, if you’re interested in attending All Things Pumpkin 2025, don’t hesitate to get on it. The event is TENTATIVELY scheduled for August 9th and 11th, 2025. We don’t have all the details worked out quite yet, but you can certainly call The Gathering at 920-778-8031 to get on the waiting list to be notified when they do come out.
Speaking of The Gathering and retreats, I’ve been getting a lot of messages and comments lately asking if our clubs, classes, and retreats can be broadcast online. While I know it would be a wonderful thing for all of you who aren’t local to be able to attend our events virtually, we have come to discover that we have way too many irons in the fire to go down the rabbit hole of technology it takes to pull something like that off – it’s a big one! Not to mention the extra equipment and manpower required to run it, all at a quality level… Yikes!
I’m not saying we will never have virtual classes at The Gathering, but right now the idea is still on the back burner at a pretty low simmer. Trust me – you’ll be the first to know when it’s a thing, but for now they are pretty much on hold for the time being. I know you understand and thank you for that.
On the other hand, while it stinks that we’re not quite ready to offer virtual content at The Gathering, we are able to connect to the internet, which also means we’re able to participate in virtual events offered by others as a group. That’s why I’m super excited about an upcoming event we’re hosting at The Gathering, Friday, December 6th through Sunday, December 8th, 2024.

The Jingle Ball is an online holiday party featured at The Gathering, virtually hosted by twelve of the most top-rated cross stitch designers around! Join us at The Gathering as we tune in for this 100% virtual event, featuring needlework classes, holiday shopping, entertainment, social stitching tables, and… speed dating??? Ok, now I’m curious!
Doesn’t this sound fun? What better way to connect with fellow stitchers, pick up new techniques, and dive into creative inspiration all in one cozy place? Jingle Ball is the perfect opportunity to experience the joy and creativity of cross stitching right from the comfort of your very own, “home away from home” at The Gathering! This type event is something we’ve never done before, but we’re excited to try something new! Consider it one step closer to hosting our own online events in the future. Sign up… Come stay… It’s going to be a blast!!!
Ready to get in on the fun? Please call The Gathering at 920-778-8031 to reserve your spot! For a sneak peek on event classes, important dates, event merch, photo gallery, and more information on how the Jingle Ball works in general, please visit https://thejingleball.net/.
Alright everyone, the time has come to give away a couple of prizes and call it good for the evening! As always, thank you to every single one of you who leaves me a like and/or comment here on the blog each week. I truly appreciate each and every one! To show my gratitude, both Felice G. and Paula E. will be getting some happy mail (check your email if you think this is you)! Don’t forget to LIKE and comment. The next one getting happy mail could be YOU! With that, I wish you a relaxing and enjoyable weekend filled with joy and as always, a bit of stitching too. Take care! ~Lisa
