PG Gives You WINGS!!!

Hey, everyone! I’m coming at you LIVE from Nashville, TN, where I’m embracing the madness at the 2025 Needlework Market! I’ve been busy like a little shopping bee since early this morning, exploring a huge sea of cool new products including the latest designs, gadgets, and newfangled tools from a whole slew of needlework designers and suppliers. It’s truly a stitcher’s candy shop!

Speaking of busy bees and other bugs, I was taking a quick break from my shopping spree to grab some lunch and check my email when I learned some awesome news! Have you been trying to get your hands on my recent project release, Nordic Wings, but it keeps coming up as sold out? Good news! Nordic Wings patterns and kits are now BACK IN STOCK and available to purchase on our website by clicking the button below!

Nordic Wings is a wool appliqué project done using our Primitive Gatherings hand dyed wools on a beautiful cream colored flannel background. This insect-inspired work of art features a large dragonfly with its wings proudly stretched out on display in all their glory. Cool blues and grays combined with soft creams create a peaceful, calming vibe that even the biggest entomophobe will appreciate. I did my version of Nordic Wings as a pillow, but this versatile project could also be turned into a a wall hanging, tote bag, or even a quilt. The sky’s the limit – especially with a set of wings like these!

I wasn’t entirely sure how a project featuring a dragonfly would turn out, but boy am I happy with the results! I don’t know about you, but she has to be the prettiest little bug I’ve ever seen… Wings down! Could this be the unexpected beginning of an ongoing series…??? I guess time will tell!

Well, gang. Lunch is over and I still have a couple of hours of shopping left to do before I can hang it up for the day. I’ll be back on WI soil next week, so be sure to join me on Thursday for my LIVE show where I’ll be talking about my trip and all the exciting things I found for the shop this year! I can’t wait… P.S. REMINDER: Due to my travels, the March “Weekend Edition Series” quilt will be released next Friday, March 14th. See you soon! ~Lisa

I am stitching on mine right now. It is gorgeous!! I think when you have these in the wool box, a thread kit with all the colors would be so helpful, for us newbies to the wool box, which is fantastic! Have fun and shop up a storm.

Lisa, you have like always been a busy, busy little girl. Pretty you will need these beautiful wings to get all the things done that you do, with not so much travel time in-between. These are absolutely beautiful.

Hi, I love this pillow but I’ve never done wool applique, do you have instruction video on it?

Hi, Jennifer! I highly recommend my books “Wool, Needle, and Thread” versions 1 and 2 if you are new to Wool Appliqué. I have several tutorials online that are specific to one skill or another, but the books are everything you need to know in a nutshell. Here is a link for the first one… https://primitivegatherings.us/wool-needle-and-thread-book/

I’m new to hand stitching embroidery. I attended a retreat and got interested in it while watching some ladies I met. I’ve ordered a couple of pillows from your shop. I’m having trouble getting the right threads. I had to order from three different shops to get my threads I don’t have a stash and thought it would be nice if you offered a thread kit to purchase along with the pillow pattern or kit. Had a great time with my friends at the retreat and hope to return soon
