Aunt Frannie – Small but Mighty!

Hey, everyone! Isn’t it funny how the internet always knows the worst time to go on an unannounced hiatus? Yesterday’s grand plan to launch my latest addition to the Primitive Gatherings Monthly Mini Quilt Series was all set to go… and then, poof — no internet, no launch. Just me staring at the color wheel of doom on my computer while it did its best to function with no signal. Let’s just say my day was cut a bit short, but no worries. It took a while but our signal is up and running and we’re back in business! Plus, good things are almost always worth the wait!

If you’ve ever wondered how to capture a lifetime of inspiration in just 15″ x 21″, say hello to Frannie, the newest addition to our Monthly Mini Quilt family. Named after my favorite aunt, this scrappy little beauty is built entirely from 3/4″ half-square triangles. She features a delicious combination of Civil War reproduction fabrics with a few of my own designs mixed in for a splash of extra sparkle that Aunt Frannie would have loved.

If you’re not a huge fan of half-square triangles and worried these little bad boys will give you grief, don’t be! With my custom-designed Primitive Gatherings Triangle Papers, they practically square themselves up without any painful guesswork — just crisp and perfect little HST’s, ready to sew! If you’d like to make creating Frannie a whole lot easier (or any quilt made with HST’s for that matter), you can grab an entire variety of sizes of Triangle Paper on our website by clicking HERE!

Whew! Anyone else feel like it’s been a SUPER long week already, even though it’s only Tuesday? Not to mention, somehow the day has flown by and I barely noticed — how the heck is it almost 6:00 p.m. already!? As much as I’d love to stay in the studio and work all night, I better get moving towards home so I can get ready to do it all over again tomorrow! Don’t forget — I know it’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve actually been LIVE, but I’ll be back LIVE (for real!) this Thursday at 1:00 p.m. CST on my YouTube channel, STITCH with Lisa Bongean. I’ll be sharing my works in progress and catching everyone up on all the fun that’s been going on around here. Click the icon below to watch — I’ll see you there! ~Lisa
