Do you think you could crank out a large quilt top in a weekend? I do! Meet Log Pile — 88 x 99 inches of proof that big quilts don’t have to be complicated. Sure, Log Pile is a little on the husky side, but it’s still surprisingly easy to make. I’m calling it a “long weekend” quilt because the size might require a bit of additional time, but the construction? Fast, straightforward, and efficient overall.

This quilt involves a LOT of strip piecing and cutting, but that’s ok – it goes quickly. You’ll move through the construction faster than you’d expect for a project this size, and once you find your rhythm, it almost becomes addictive. Before you know it, those piles of strips turn into blocks, the blocks turn into rows, and suddenly you’re looking at a quilt that feels like it practically built itself!
