Holy MUM!

DSC02496Hey what do you think of this mum!  It is about 4 feet across…It is huge.  I just had to show it to you all.  I have been getting ready for Fall Market in Houston. Here is a quilt i am hand quilting.  I am using the stripes in the fabric as quilting lines.  So this goes pretty fast.

DSC02353sorry about the flash…i is pretty harsh.  This is my dancing with the stars entertainment…I have been having a rough time with some personal issues so I am kind of in a funk. This hardly ever happens to me so It is kind of a weird feeling.  But we are not solely in control are we?   Sorry I have been away for a while… I have lots to blog about so as things are looking better and I will post more often.  Below is another quilt using my new fabric line…Mary Klein is quilting this for me, I know i should be quilting it myself but there is lots to do.  More to come later and good by…time to piece, I have 24 blocks out of 42 done….I can do 4 in an hour…I do not think I will get done tonight! I will show you that one next time…DSC02328

    Hey Lisa –

Just wanted to let you know that I think about you guys a lot with everything that’s going on with Nick’s health (and whatever else I don’t know about). I pray for you, that you’ll have a sense of peace and clear direction. Can’t wait to see you at Houston and the rest of the gorgeous stuff you’ll have for us. Your blog is always a great temptation.

Flowers and quilts look great!! What kind of frame do you have your quilt in?? Almost looks like an old fashioned wood frame.
Hope you get over your funk….be sure to quilt with joy and have sometime with your girlfriends, nothing helps the blues more. Wished I was there to help.
    You’re wonderful.

    Lisa,

What a mum, its so beautiful, I love how they get bigger every year.

Life can stretch us at times, grow with it and you will be amazed as you reflect on it later. Your new quilts are fabulous, market is going to be a big hit for you!! I will miss you by a couple days in Des Moines, close but not to be. My son lives in Omaha and I will be out visiting the weekend before AQS. Wish you all the best!

I love the quilt with the new fabrics! I also love the hand quilted stripes. What size needle do you use? Is it perle cotton thread, and what about the thimle? I saw a previous post with your quilt stand, but I couldn’t make out all of the little details. Thanks, Danielle

P.S. The garden is lovely- what a mum!

You amaze me! You have a beautiful flower garden and run a business that must take 200% of your time. I hope you are doing well. Wish I could go and see you at fall market. Just not in the cards for me this yr.

    Lisa,
You are a bundle of energy, with amazing talent and creativity. Sometimes the downside of this is frustration with not ever being DONE. Lose the sense of guilt. Not everything is in our control. Know that these feelings will pass. Enjoy market and good luck, kathy

Love the quilts AND the garden. That mum is pretty awesome! Looks like fall has arrived. I am in Sugar Land (a suburb of Houston) so I better plan on hitting your booth the first day or so to make sure I get the stuff I want! See you in a few weeks:)
