civil war tribute month #2 and beginning quilting class?

CWT MONTH 2

here are the 4 blocks for Civil War Tribute  …don’t forget to add the extra strip on the top and bottom of each block… mine are obviously sideways…

Saturday was my 13 yr. old niece, Kaity’s first quilting class.  She is taking it at the shop along with Madelynn,  (Carole’s niece) and 5 other ladies.  Madelynn works at the shop on Thursdays and Saturdays and is a Senior at Neenah High School.  Kaity will be working at the shop starting this summer.  They both are pretty excited about their quilting class.  I remember how excited I was…it seemed to take forever for the next class to come…I couldn’t wait to learn the next step…

YES! I did finish my 100 scrappy 6 1/4″ basket blocks….actually before noon today. You are looking at 5 piles of 20… So I treated my sewing room to a sweeping and cleaning. Tomorrow…I will have to decide how to set them…scrappy or just one fabric…

Sizing is a great product! I buy regular starch (Sta Flo is one brand) in a 2 quart bottle and dilute it with water. It tells you on the bottle what proportions to use. Pour it into a spray bottle and you have the equivalent of about 7 aerosol cans. No cans to dispose of! It work great for me!

Lisa so enjoyed your photos. You found some gorgeous quilts on ebay.
The tour of your friend Carole’s home was awesome. Please tell me, is there a pattern for her prize winning quilt that hangs in her livingroom? Just loved the colors and size. Thanks for sharing. LindaB.

Once a month make 9 blocks of the same fabrics...Get nine different ones back... My girls know how to pick and put fabrics together!😍love my blocks!#primitivegatherings #reproductionfabrics Lots of hand quilting in the last two days... I love stitching on the porch when everyone is just hanging out and watching the sun go down... Look at all those threaded needles... I need another tube as I didn't quite make it..As I roll the quilt I just keep stitching a zig zag pattern as I threaded long lengths of perle cotton...so much fun and to do while watching the babies play in the pool and Momies chase them around... So much fun being grandma!#primitivegatherings #lisabongean #quilt#bigstitchquilting #modafabrics
