I love this sign…It takes a lot of work to make your DREAMS whatever they are come to reality…and all of us at Primitive Gatherings know this…we had a rough couple of days….Luke and Jess were involved in an accident on the way home from Florida…they are fine…but our truck and trailer are not…Nick left me in Ohio to go and take care of the situation…Jake & Amy who were on their way to Cleveland OH, picked me up and delivered me to Crown Point IN, where I had a workshop and lecture the next day. They dropped our Lancaster trailer and then the next day met Nick, Luke and Jess in Cleveland who had purchased a new trailer and loaded it from the wrecked one from FL. Our truck and trailer’s fate has not been decided yet…they are still in KY waiting for the insurance adjusters opinion of whether “Vin” our first diesel truck will continue on or go to pasture…Did you know that our truck had a “black box” and they could verify the personal accounts of the story and that they can determine all sorts of things???
My son Luke did an awesome job of controlling his truck and trailer during the rainstorm, while a reckless driver lost control of his car, hit the center wall and shot out over two lanes and right in front of his truck. Luke seemed to see it all happening and by the time he hit the car he was only going less than 40MPH and did not swerve his truck and trailer!!! The officer on the scene told him he did one hell of a job…it could have been a massive pile up…we have been told the driver of the car will survive…Luke is very relieved.
Being on the road is not easy and it wears on you….but the show must go on…so please come visit our booth in Cleveland OH at the IX Center…Jake and Amy have the booth set up and are ready for you…the show hours from 10-6pm…Tomorrow through Saturday!!!
We want to say HI and welcome to our new friends we met in Atlanta, Lakeland and Lancaster!!! We appreciate you stopping in to our booth and supporting our “mobile” quilt shop!
Thanks to everyone for their prayers and support over the past couple of days…it sure helps!
Thank you so much for the enjoyable workshop yesterday. I know your mind was on your family, but you soldiered on and we had fun! Thank goodness your family is alright and the driver is going to be ok too. Even though I have been stitching your projects for several years I learned things!!! Thanks for coming to Indiana.
Wow, glad everyone is okay. That must have been an emotionally draining experience. You can be mighty proud of Luke!
Last night I went to work making one of my dreams happen–working on my “Little Buds” wall hanging. Got all the wool cut and pressed on to the backgrounds. I am actually doing it on black, like the bigger one. I swooned over the tiny size, but loved the color on the black background. I’m making it from the kit, but I set the tan backgrounds aside for some other project. I’ll email a photo when it is all done. : )
While an accident is a terrible thing to go through how fortunate that everyone is or will be ok. I was so happy to meet you in Lancaster last week… the famous Lisa! Your shop away from home was great (but crowded!) and I’m very happy with my purchases! I hope to see you there every year! The area I live in has no primitive/wool/ civil war focus so it’s either on line shopping or lucky hits at shows for me. Thanks for coming east.
Glad to hear Luke and Jess are doing well. They were very helpful when we saw them in Georgia a couple of weeks ago. Look forward to seeing you when you are back in Georgia teaching in May.
There is nothing worse than when something happens to one of our kids. Thank God everyone is ok. I enjoyed meeting you in Lancaster and I’m looking forward to Hershey. I hope the east coast shows are worth it for you so you keep coming back!
Lisa, I am so glad everyone is ok. You are truly amazing that you were able to teach and continue on with everything. Bet you will be glad to get home!
Wow……Thank God they are ok…..I want to know that Luke and Jess did an outstanding job in Lakeland.
Jess and Luke were so helpful and were answering questions left and right. You should be proud.
I can’t wait to start my working on my projects……I can’t decide what to start on first. It was great to see the Block of the Month quilt in person…..I have completed the top and was unsure how to quilt it. Thanks for coming to Florida.
Very happy to hear that Jess and Luke are OK. It was good to meet them in Georgia, so helpful and friendly. I heard many people saying that your booth was their favorite and it sure is mine! I went home with some yummy projects. Looking forward to your next visit.
Oh my gosh, praise God that Luke, Jess, and the other driver are going to be ok. That must have been so frightening for all of you. So sorry to hear this. You all work so hard to bring us your wonderful product. My prayers are with you all.
Life turns on a dime. I’m thankful your family and other drivers made it. Makes you realize what’s important, right!?!? Visited your shop this past weekend. They were too sweet to me. Take care.
I am sooo thankful for the safety and great vehicle handling !! SO happy for your family and business family, also, that the other driver sounds like he will be healthy again.
Thank goodness they are both ok! I travelled from Gainesville (FL) to Lakeland to visit the PG booth and had the pleasure of meeting them both. They were both so kind and helpful. Quick thinking and skillful driving. Thanks for all you do to bring Primitive Gatherings to us.
So sorry to hear of the accident, but so thankful to God that all are ok. There were angels around your vehicle protecting the lives within. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Now…back to quilting “My Favorite Things” wall hanging. Can’t wait to finish it and share the pic with you. Hugs to you, Lisa
I’m very sorry to hear about the accident, but I thank God that everyone will be ok. Visited with Luke and Jess in Georgia a few weeks ago and they were both so very nice and helpful. Jess is so sweet and you could just tell by talking to Luke that he was so mature and responsible. Lisa, you did GOOD. My prayers go out to you, your family and the other driver. Sending good thoughts your way.
Wow! I am so sorry to hear about this awful incident! I am relieved to hear that everyone is going to be alright. Objects like trucks and trailers can be replaced, while human lives cannot. My thoughts and prayers are with your family as everyone recovers from this ordeal.
Lisa,
You & your team have done such an amazing job of bringing your beautiful goods to so many workshops, quilt shows & other events! I just wanted to let each one of you know that we all appreciate all the effort that you all put out so we can have fun with your designs. I am sure that Luke & Jess are shaken from the accident, but I am praying that everyone involved, even the other driver, will fully recover for this unfortunate accident. Perhaps everyone will need a little (or big :o) vacation soon! Stay safe, but have fun too! You all work so hard, and your success is not just measured in revenue, but also by the amazing lives you have touched through your art!
Many blessing,
Laura
Thank God that Luke & Jess are not hurt, shaken and un-nerved for sure, and prayerfully the other driver will be all right. My prayers to you & your quilting team.
I met Luke in Atlanta, very nice young man. I’m so glad they are alright. I know your concerns, my family run a small business that sends my husband and my son and a flee of trucks pulling trailers west and north of Georgia. We have found that it is so important to keep the trailers well maintained. We had one to completely come apart in the middle of New York City. What a mess that was. Hope to see y’all next month in Paducah.
That must have been some phone call Lisa. I’m glad to hear your “Primitive” family is ok. It only takes an instant to change lives forever. Thank God they are ok..
Kathy from Battle Creek
Heart stopping news for sure, but glad your boys are safe and survived what could have been a horrible accident. Thank you for all you do for your customers and followers. You inspire us all…
Oh my gosh…I’m so glad to hear everyone will be okay. My prayers are with you all. Thank you for everything you, your family, and team does in bringing us your products and knowledge. You inspiration is contagious. A big hug to you all.
Visited the shop this week, love the changes. Everything is so organized and it is overwhelming…….love everything and the staff is wonderful….please pass it on!!
Wow, glad everyone is OK. You and your staff/family are such troupers to keep all your commitments. Your fans across the US really appreciate it. Kudos to Luke for amazing damage control.
Lisa, thank God Luke kept his cool and lessened the severity of the collision by his actions. So glad to hear they are ok and the other driver will survive as well.
OMG Lisa… that is so scary! I am glad they are ok. My girlfriend totalled my car on the freeway two weeks ago and I am so glad she is ok. Life is short…family and friends are what are important. My mom died on Mar. 8 and I am realizing how short life can be. Give those kids a big hug! Talk to you soon!
Lisa, I am so glad your family is ok. I can only imagine the sickening feeling you had, when you got that phone call. May God continue to bless you and your family and keep you safe.
