I posted a few days ago what I did last weekend while in GA, now this post is what I did this weekend…
Sorting the 3rd weeks Pieced BOW fabrics
Next I had to trace and stitch on the drawn lines….see my line I drew on my sewing machine to help me keep on target…place the corner of the square on the line….
Assembly line sewing is the best…
Add all four corners….
Time to trim…use the rotating mat…but what is even better? Using the whole mat and cutting all the right hand corners then turning and cutting all four again…repeating until you have all for sets done.
Now that is what I call being efficient!! Time to press… and they are all done!!!
Jess wanted me to let you know we have only 10 spots left in this pieced BOW series….Sign up here if you need to click this link…Pieced Summer BOW
Nick’s Parents came out to fish too!!!
Nick and the Boys fishing…
And last…my favorite pic of the weekend…lots of fish caught this weekend…I even wet a line for a bit on Friday…but puttered around mostly…stitching, cooking, taking pictures and whatever else I wanted to do…
Love the photo of Nick, Presley, and Jeter! I got to stop in your store last Tuesday. I was driving from Marquette to Milwaukee with my sister and niece and stopped to show them your wonderful shop. They loved it. Wish we would have had more time there but I had a flight to catch.
Your pictures of Nick and the boys show such an idyllic life! I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do the pieced BOW but after seeing your pics I quickly ordered so I hope that I am one of the lucky last 10. Thanks
What a wonderful weekend for you and family!! Quilting, fishing, the lake and family…..what more can one ask for. I just adore the fabrics you are using in those blocks….very nice. Your dogs look so well behaved.
Glad to see you are getting to enjoy your summer home ! I’m enjoying mine now for the next couple of weeks !! I have two of my quilt friends coming to spend a few days, then another week with grandkids !!! Not sure when or if I’l go home !!!! Love having the chance to do this after all the years of raising a child, and helping with the grandkids ! Now it’s ME time !!!
Love the ‘being people’ picture. I’m doing the pieced BOW and of course the wool BOW. If lyou do one more step when your piecing you’ll have a boat load of HST already done for another project. Before you cut away the corners turn around and stitch another line around 1/2″ or less from the stitching line, then cut between them and now you have another HST unit ready for another quilt. I press these open at the same time I’m doing other pressing for the block. I already have a hugh amount of these waiting for the right project. Yes, these will be small but you like the small blocks for your projects.
Great pictures of the blocks, I am so happy to be doing this BOW. I also love to see all the pictures that you post especially the ones of the dogs, I am such an animal lover. I enjoy the family pics too.

Oh my gosh how I love to fish! Especially with the old cane pole, bobbers and worms! We used to spend weeks on end year after year at our grandparents lake house (they lived there all year long) and I so loved it. Fishing, swimming…. then ice skating all winter. Good life for you and Nick! Enjoy. Kiss the puppies for me! Gloria
Such a nice post, I have no idea how you find the time to do all the stitching, blogging & work that you do!
And somehow, you manage to make time to have fun with your family. This is so special, thanks for sharing the photos. . . . . and by the way, who caught the biggest fish?
I am so thankful that I am reading and enjoying your great blogs. I am doing the BOW and I thought I was doing them as directed, BUT after seeing your blogs and they are so cute, I knew I had done mine wrong…..I matched the dark centers with the same dark outer triangle, then the light centers with the same light outer triangle, they look okay, but the scrappy right way is much better…..I guess I’m not very good with following directions….glad you posted those pictures……….I better be careful, I haven’t started the wool BOW, or the Warm Winter Blessings Quilts yet and I have never worked with wools, but I’m excited to try and learn new things. Thank you for all you do, and for the inspiration……
I’m curious too find out what blog platform you have been using?
I’m experiencing some smzll security issuues with my latest bloog and
I would like to find something more safe. Do you have any
solutions?
