You have been showing off some really needful things. I have missed the giveaway times but today might be my day. With all the applique I do this would be fabulous to own. Thanks for the chance.
I feel like you are reading my mind today! I have been out the past week, looking for something like this cuz my arms get tired of always tracing things taped to a window LOL This sure would be a wonderful treat!
This light box looks amazing! I’ve use others that were a bit expensive but they were much bulkier and didn’t seem to be as bright as the one you your demo video. I need one of these!
I would love to have this light panel! I looked at one like this at the Des Moines show and talked myself out of it. Now I wish I had it almost every time I do stitching or applique. And it wouldn’t take lots of room to store!
My light box consists of a wooden box with a piece of plexiglass on top and I put a desk lamp underneath the plexiglass. It was part of a project my son did in high school. ( he’s 23 now). And it’s heavy too. Needless to say that would be a nice light box to have. Thanks for sharing again.
What a great tool (as are all of your ideas :). Like so many others, my light table is rigged by taking a leaf out of the table, adding a lamp and a “storm” window over the table…It’s a chore and takes some of the fun out of a project.
Thanks again!
What a great product. As I’ve gotten older the more important lighting has become. Would love to have one!!! Thanks for letting us know what’s out there to makeover sewing m
Lisa, I watched your moda video, and you were very calm and steady I thought! The light box certainly is easier and better than taping everything to a window on a sunny day like I do!!
peg
This is wonderful. I have to hold my stuff against my window and it sure hurts my arms! Guess I can start saving for one. This would definitely be on my wish list.
Wow! Great item to have on hand with all of these quilt designs that have massive amounts of embroidery in them! I’m stitching on one of those now and have about 8 more (embroidery quilt) patterns in my stash… not to mention how great this light pad would be for wool (and cotton) applique tracing too (not going to admit how many of those patterns are in stash lol)… hmmmm… I’m going to have to talk to Santa… I could really get some good use of one of these…
I’m going to have to put this on my birthday wish list because I know my Christmas gifts have already been purchased, but I sure would love to get one in my stocking!
Yes, it does look like an iPad. My light box is about 20 years old and is a big clumsy thing. You would never mistake it for an iPad! Thsnks for sending your needful things blog. I always look forward to seeing what is next!
Wow! That great little tool would replace me taping the copy to the window and the trying to retrace on fabric or other items. It would mean no more trying to get the tape residue off the window and no more swearing because I screwed up once agin!
I saw you demonstrate this as you mentioned in your post. At the time, I wondered where I would find a lite box like the one you demo……I will put this on my wish list for next year as he already has my gift for this year. Christmas will need to come earlier next year, cause I can’t wait till Dec. Thanks for the fun post.
I have a friend that has one like this and when we get together to work with wool we all have light box envy of her. Very cool tool. Thank-you for the opportunity to win some of your beautiful fabric and prizes.
This is so awesome! I have been using one of those heavy green metal medical x-ray viewer cabinet that hung on the doctors office wall until it became obsolete and thus mine!
It looks like a great tool – would love to have it for Christmas – hey even after Christmas it would still be fantastic! A great new tool for the New Year!
This is a great big item on my “wish” list!!!! If not for Christmas (I think Santa already did his shopping) the next birthday or Valentines’s day may be just the perfect time!!!
I have used my Mom’s old tv that still works, glass coffee table with a flashlight & a window with daylight. We learn to be creative in many ways for our sewing needs. This is an awesome light!
WOW!! I love the way they are inventing all these wonderful things to make quilting easier!! I could DEFINITELY use one of these!! Wonder if it will fit into my stocking?? Have a great Christmas!

I saw you do a video demo at the Houston Quilt Show on your wool block of the month from this past summer and you were using this, and I thought it was the coolest light box, so had to buy myself one, it is so handy and your right nice and compact not like the light boxes from back in the day.
I have wanted one of these since I watched your demonstration of your new Words to Live By BOM on the Moda website. I recently placed my order for your new Words to Live By BOM and am looking forward to creating the quilt. Thanks for the excellent Needful things suggestions. I am learning lots!
You light up my life….you give me hopes to copy my patterns to fill my nights with late night quilting, you give me hope….there’s an easier wayyyy…..youuuuu lightttt uppppp myyyy life. I really need one of these in the worse way. I will even sing and dance for it ๐
Love it…would be great for all sorts of needle work…needs to go on my list…I love the sleekness of it not like the ones I have seen that were big and bulky
Oh my goodness! Number 1 on my Christmas wish list is a light box and I love yours! And it’s just the right size to be very portable. Thanks for showing!
Lisa, anyone who has traced any shape will fall in love with the LIght Panel. I know because I have one. Gifted myself one and highly recommend. It is so sturdy and heavy enough to stay in place and better still the lighting is perfection for any quilters tracing including the blacks I’ve checked. Another hint, you’ll have time to complete more projects with time saved using your light panel.
Totally enjoying the Twelve Days of Christmas you’ve created.
How cool is that light panel! Typically I have to tape the pattern to a sunny windowpane, and trace quickly before my hands and arms go numb as the blood drains due to the awkward positioning! Either that or stand on my head, that’s TROUBLE! Lisa B, you did a great job on your demo video. Thanks for all you do!
I’ve been looking for this light since I saw your demo. So great that you have it for sell. I think I will forward your email to my husband’s personal email account (Hint…Hint…Hint)!!! He surprises me every now and then with something on my wish list!!! Thanks for sharing such great ideas and products!
What a great light for transferring designs. My husband made a light box for me, and I mean it is a box, with a florescent light inside and a piece of Plexiglas on top. It works, but I can’t put it in a bag to take it anywhere. I am putting this on my wish list. Thanks for sharing.
What a great light panel! Right now I have to tape my pattern to a sunny window and trace quickly before my hands & arms go numb as the blood drains due to positioning. Either that or stand on my head, now that’s TROUBLE! Lisa B., you did a great job on your demo video. Thanks for all you do!
Well, that looks a lot easier than my method of holding a flashlight between my knees with my 9X13 baking dish balanced on my lap, and my pattern taped to the top of it!
Got one better…put a light in the center of an old wooden soda crate with a plexiglass top to trace or use my patio door…this would be much more portable ๐ Needful means using what we have in a pinch!
This light box looks amazing…..much better than the kids Crayola trace pad that I tried or the sunny window. I would think that this would make tracing more accurate. Thank you for showing us all these great needful things.
Lisa, like you, I have many things that need to be finished before Christmas but somehow it all gets done.
Love the light panel and watched you using it in the YouTube video. Love the Words to Live By quilt, also. It’s being offered as a BOM at my local weekly show next year and I’m on board.
This lightbox looks amazing — it’s compact so good to take to workshops, classes, and retreats. I like to applique so it would be great for layouts and cutouts.
Ok! This is so much better than sitting on the floor with the OttLite under the coffee table glass!! Getting too old (and stiff) to be sitting cross legged on the floor. Going to hint to my husband. Thanks for info!
LOL… I thought it WAS an ipad or a tablet. These things are so useful, I use a light under a glass table as my light box! Not very scientific but it works.
Hi Lisa & crew! I love your posts for the 12 Needful Things! Most of these are products that I have not yet seen. It’s great to have a quilter & stitcher give a review on these new products. This new “skinny” light box would be so much better than using my large front window to trace with. I even had one of my neighbors stop over and ask me “What in the world are you always doing with fabric taped to your windows?” Obviously she wasn’t a stitcher! :o) Merry Christmas to you & all your PG followers!

Wow, that is a great tool! I’ve never had a light box—always used the glass door in my dining area. How wonderful an actual light box would be! Thanks for adding this to the list!
I am in the exact same place with my Christmas preparations. Lots of wrapping & treat making to come & a bit more shopping. Two hand made gifts need to get finished today so they ship to my quilty friend’s in time. Better get busy.
I look, every day, for your 12 days of Christmas suggestions, even when I am extremely busy! Love ’em! This light box sure beats taping patterns to the window, which works but is not convenient, especially at night!
That is a very cool light! I would love it but i having been using the window for so long i doubt i would know how to act!!! I think next year i will for sure have to put this on my Christmas list for my hubby….thanks, Tammy
I would love to own one of those light panels. It is a bit pricey, but if it is as amazing as it sounds it will be worth it! I have a more bulky light box but this would be sweet!
I have this on my Christmas list but don’t know if I will get it. The elf will report back to Santa that I might have been a bit naughty this year – how dare he though! Absolutely love it. This would be wonderful to use with all the applique work I do.
This is really one thing I would live to have under my tree! OK Santa pick me! Pick me! Lol love love this time of year! Thank you Lisa for another wonderful item a real must have!!
Boy, that sure looks easier to use than my back porch door window! The silly latch is a little loose and the door busts open if I lean on it too much. I might have to add this to my Christmas list.
I love this light pad! Definitely adding this to my wish list. Hopefully that Christmas bonus comes early and I can buy myself all the items on my wish list! LOL!
By reason of his greater steel warehouse revenue desire for approval, more acutely than any other three types combined, and gets more for his money out of Sahaja Yoga.
