I just wanted to share photos of one of my students project from last Saturdays workshop at olde world quilt shop in Cave Creek, AZ.
She brought me her project during the show so I didn’t get her name…hopefully someone can fill me in on that…but anyway…I was so enamored with it that I lost all my senses…all her appliqué was done and it was quilted! She used her new sashiko? Stitch sewing machine…it stitches like hand quilting…hmmmm maybe I need one of these, she said she loves it! Hopefully we will find out her name and I just wanted to share this with you all…
Today is the last show day here in Phoenix… I am ready to go home…and snuggle with Jeter and Presley…I don’t care how cold it is back there…I miss them so much…the weather has been great here but after 20 plus days away…there is no place like home…

The project owner is Cheryl A. from Cave Creek … and she is the proud owner of the Sashiko machine… as are a number of other Old World students and workers :-). Kuddos to her for quick and lovely work. We’re glad you came to Cave Creek / Phoenix, Lisa! Hope you’ll come back soon.

The Sashiko machine is from Babyloc. If you are looking for a fast finish, quilting with this machine is Fast! Lisa’s booth at the show is amazing! You see all of her creations on the blog but walking into to it was mind boggling! My baf was so heavy when I left, my shoulder hurt😊

Lisa, Great to see you and Nick and your beautiful, BUSY booth at the Phoenix quilt show yesterday. You are really an inspiration! Just spent an hour online researching the Sashiko machine. Hmmmm…. May need one!

Safe travels home and hope you’ll come back to the Valley of the Sun soon!

Great week … Took class from Lisa Feb 2nd at Olde World Quilt Shoppe in AZ. Got me stitching again. Discovered Olde World Quilt Shoppe in Cave Creek, AZ (beautiful-added to my list of favorite shops). Shopped Primitive Gatherings booth at AQS Phoenix Quilt show on Friday … Best and busiest booth at show. Don’t know how Lisa, Nick, and their team keep up the pace … Thank you for designing and offering such beautiful things.

Looks like you are having a good time! I wish I could have made it to the show. Sometimes my real job with the airline is too crazy and I have to work. I’m not quite ready to take that leap and retire. I sure missed seeing you guys! Hope you are doing well and enjoy your time at home..safe travels!

Thanks for sharing 🙂 I’m off to the Babylock website to read about this machine. And I agree Lisa, there is nothing as fabulous as home with hugs from hubby & fur-kids! Blessings to you 🙂

It is beautiful and nice job to whomever did it! I’m a little jealous (not really, a LOT jealous) that it was done so quickly….maybe I need one of those machines as handwork just isn’t fast enough to get all my UFO projects done!! Need more info on this machine if you please! …. and Lisa, home snuggle time is healthy time…

I’m so glad you are home! Thanks for sharing about the Sashiko. I spent some time reading about it and watching videos. Looks great! I have never hear I’d it. My SIL demos felting machines and she said the Sashiko is also at the demos and is very popular with the sewing (especially clothing) and quilting crowd.
