Welcome to another great MODA blog hop!!! Today Is my day…I’m Lisa Bongean from Primitive Gatherings. My letter for the Blog Hop was P…and here is my block made with the instructions given here: p_spellitwithfabric
But as you know it is hard being a designer and only making one block when they give you the directions for all of them….so here is what we did at Primitive Gatherings with all the letters… Our sample is made by reducing the blocks in half…our whole little quilt is only 42″ I am showing the blocks next to a charm pack so you can judge the size…What a perfect quilt for a grandchild or for yourself!!! I have always wanted to make an alphabet quilt…also…we have kits!!! The kits are made up using all of my “Gathering” lines from Moda…The kits are priced at $75 and include the pattern. If you want the pattern only they are $10 and include directions and full color picture of the finished quilt. This can all be purchased here…Mini Alphabet Quilt
Moda has also given me some great prizes to give away…as well as a kit for our mini quilt from Primitive Gatherings…so please comment on this post and you will be entered to win….we will pick a winner March 5…I will be back from a teaching gig on the 3rd and need a day to get my stuff together and then we will post a winner…We have 5 prizes total…good luck!
I also want to take this time to talk about my new line…which our give-a-ways are from….Homestead Gatherings….Deep Reds, Blacks, Browns and Greens along with Tans paired with all the previous colors on them….I think this line is my favorite so far…I love the little accent piece with the house..It comes tan/red, tan/black and black/dk tan….
Look for this line of Moda fabric in your local quilt stores or order it on our website here Homestead Gatherings. Pre-cuts are available now and bolted yardage is coming in March/April 2014…We have three quilts made and the kits and patterns will be available soon after the fabric comes in also…Here is a peek at them…Christmas on the Prairie, Homestead and then Hospitality…which is just back from the quilter, Linda Hrcka…and is just fabulous as usual…here is close up…To pre order kits click here: KITS

Love this alphabet quilt and I agree there is no place like home. After moving with the military my entire life (as a daughter and then as a wife) we retired and I thought we would stay in the last place forever; until my daughter moved with my 4 grandchildren. We sold the house and bought a new one 3 hours from her and couldn’t be happier. We moved our home to our heart!
Great new fabrics! Love how you made the Moda quilt smaller with the darker backgrounds and light letters. Would LOVE to win anything….well especially the kit …hint, hint. Thanks for the chance to win.
Beautiful quilts in this post! I got some Homestead Gatherings precuts a couple of weeks ago, and I can’t wait to use them. I need to get more before it’s all gone. I especially love the “no place like home” fabric.
Lisa, beautiful new “gatherings”. Amanda gave me a fat 8th bundle of the “floral” gatherings shirtings, now must think of a combo project to use both the newest and the bundle. Coming down in March, can’t wait!!

Love the new fabric line!!! Linda is such an inspiration and I hope one day to be half a good a quilter as she is. Keep designing Lisa and remember every day is a gift.
That’s an adorable alphabet quilt. I also love the colours in your new fabric range, they are not colours I use often but maybe I should start. Thanks for the chance of winning something.
Lisa, I know I read in your blog about a sewing machine that looks like hand stitching and can’t find the name! Could you let me know what it is? Thanks. Pat Simington
Another moda line that I absolutely love. You have drop dead beautiful quilts. If I lived close to your shop I would quit my day job and park myself on your shop steps until you hired me.
WOW! Great fabrics! Love anything done in a small version and already had in mind to shrink the blocks down a bit. Not sure how I’m going to lay them out yet, but figuring it out is the fun part of the quilting process for me.

Those fabrics are yummy! I can’t hardly wait to get my hands on some of them. I’m into smallish HST right now and I love that quilt with all of those in it. I have to agree with Cindy, you are a whirl wind Lisa! My favorite line so far has been little gatherings and I’m hoping to pick up some at the shop at the end of March…thanks for that chance and keep up the great work!

What an amazing bundle of energy you and your shop ladies are! Just amazing. More tempting things on your site than anywhere. LOVE the new line, we live in a farmhouse in rural Idaho and it is made for showing quilts. Red check flooring, green molding and doors, and very light, creamy gold walls. So cozy, would love some Homestead Gatherings to gather here! Shameless, no? I know it’s just a random number picker, but …oh well. U

Just the idea I needed to get me going on this. I am trying to finish up my big quilt UFO’s….and working on making (starting!!) small quilt projects this year. This will be perfect! Have fun during your travels!!
My favorite quilt block is the Nine Patch too. When I was ten years old in the 1962, I asked all my neighbors for fabric and my mom taught me to hand sew a Nine Patch Block. Mom helped me put all the blocks together and Dad built a quilt frame. The best part is the whole family helped quilt, including my 2 older brothers. Lots of sore fingers later, we had a finished quilt and the best part is that I still have it today. Good memories!!
Your alphabet quilt is very nice! And I love the colors of the fabrics in the give away! I don’t know if you are sending international, if you do I want to enter. Greetings from Marit Johanne in Norway
Ohhhh Lisa-I’m a lover of anything primitive gatherings. Your fabrics make it into most of my quilts. My all time favorite was the little snowmen. I would love a chance to win. And thanks for participating in this fun blog hop!
Love the mini alphabet quilt. Looks like that would make a great baby shower gift. And, I love the “there is no place like home” fabric….yummy!! Have fun on your cruise and thanks again for the opportunity to win.
This is my first visit to your blog. Love your fabric line…especially the one with the little house. The range of colors that use for your fabric are beautiful. Thanks for the chance to win!
Homestead Gatherings…what’s not to adore? Love the name, love the fabric, love it!!!! 🙂 Thank you for designing fabric for us folks who like the old-fashioned/primitive look!
Perfect project for my primary residence. Putting precious pieces together. Placing your patches of love into my petite pile of to do projects. Perfection. Pleasantly pleased.
Homestead gatherings looks great, so does the mimi alphabet quilt you made. You didn’t say if the giveaway is open internationally or not – I’m in the UK.
“P” is the beginning initial of my name and I have four “P” sisters too! If I show them I’ll be making all kinds of P blocks! Love the quilt! Thanks for all you do.
Precious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that’s my word for your new line. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! Hope (know you are) having a great time on cruise. Can’t wait to hear all about it.
Your new quilts are beautiful and I will be looking forward to them being available, I especially like the looks of the one I think is called Homestead. Phenomenal fabric and quilts.
You truly amaze me you are so creative! Just when I think you can’t beat my last favorite little gatherings line you prove me wrong and come out with another must have fabric for me to obsess over! The talent of your design and piecing paired with Linda’s quilting is just amazing for lack of a better word!!
Thank you for all you do. I know you have had a difficult year but always remember there are so many people out here who truly admire and love you that you have yet to meet in person. You make our lives better with your generosity of spirit and talent. For that I am thankful.
Hi Lisa,
I really loved seeing you & your family at “Roads to California” in January . . . you & your team always do an amazing job with your booth! Lots of hard work for you folks to setup, but I can tell you that your booth is the first place I drop my bucks!!!! Love everything you design from fabric to patterns! Your new line looks like it will be another winner!
Wow, your new fabric line is so ME! Love the colors & sentiment Lisa 🙂 Thanks for the beautiful close-up photos, my eye moves slowly over all the details, so lovely!
Cute little alphabet quilt. I love the new line and I will look for it in stores or I will kidnap my friend and take a road trip 4 hours over to your shop. We always look for your booth and stand in line when you’re at a nearby show. May you continue to be inspired with these great ideas!
Really like the alphabet quilt – haven’t made one yet and I’m not sure why since I do like them! Love the fabrics – but then I love almost everything in your entire store! Can’t decide if it’s more dangerous to access you online or if I lived near the store!
I am a fan. You have the best booth at the shows. How is the cruise? I can’t imagine combining quilting and cruising….. Love your fabric and the alphabet quilt.
I absolutely love the Mini Alphabet Quilt! And I love “There ‘s no place like home” on your new Homestead Gatherings fabric line! The colors are gorgeous! Thank you for sharing! My daughter is expecting a new baby (Sept)! She lost her 2nd baby at 9 mos. pregnancy. She keeps telling me that she really believes this baby is coming home! We are all praying hard! My 3 year granddaughter is always singing the ABC song! I would love to make this quilt for my new grand baby! I am in awe of all of your products! They are so beautiful! “P” is also for prayers!
The new line looks amazing! I can’t wait to find it in person. Hope you are having a great time on the cruise. Old man winter has struck again in my part of the prairie…. but it has provided some good sewing hours!
What I love about your fabrics is the mini prints on them and the colors. I’m always drawn to your fabrics wherever I see them. The alphabet quilt is beautiful and what a great way to help a child learn the alphabet.
Lisa,
Your fabric is just what I love! And that alphabet quilt is so wonderful, I think I will have to make it and KEEP IT!
Thank you for all your wonderful patterns and fabric and may I win a pack of your fabric. If not me, then someone deserving!!
The fabrics are delicious and I envy those who design fabrics. For those of us who love the feel of fabric as we create masterpieces and wish we could design, but must use a pattern, oh well that’s why God created you. Thank you for the beautiful fabrics
omg! another gorgeous line! I haven’t got all the prints from your last ones yet (but I will). You are all soooo inspiring; I love everything you do! Thank you again!
Love your mini “P” letter block…much better than the larger blocks on the hop. I’m going to order the pattern. Also, I really enjoyed your classes on the cruise and I’m glad that you and Nick had some time to relax a little…you are keeping up such a busy schedule. I can’t wait to take your classes in Bellaire, MI this summer 🙂
I would love to win some of those luscious Moda fabrics! I especially love the deep reds, tans, and indigo colors. I really enjoy your blog and shop, too!
