10th anniversary stitch along….Pieced version & Part 2
I do not want to confuse anyone so please read everything…
Good Morning…first of all..I want you to know I didn’t forget about a PIECED version instead of the wool version I promised to do…I will be making the 2 versions…this way I can use whatever I have, (including some fabrics that were never made??? I get 100’s of sample strike-off that are so cool…but can only pick 40 fabrics for a next new line of MODA)…I am sorry to announce we are NOT going to kit this version in parts…BUT we will offer a fabric bundle or two, to those who NEED them so they can use similar fabrics to my sample….The fabric bundle will be 18 fat 1/8ths…6-red,tan and blacks….for a total of 2 1/4 yards…just please understand while there is lots of fabric here and I will use all these fabrics in future parts, there may be more fabrics and some parts may require more than a fat 1/8 once we get bigger…so you kind of get what I’m saying here….you may add your own fabrics (and it is encouraged)to this bundle and of course use only fabrics from your own collection…
So just to get this straight…this is not another block to go with the first…this is in place of the center wool appliqué block that was posted earlier. Some people are allergic to wool…some don’t do wool appliqué? What’s wrong with that?…lol…so this is their center OR you can make 2 Stitch Along quilts!!!!!
If you look close at the pic below…I made half square triangles…but in my instructions I wrote them for flying geese…so either way will work…I was going to do something else but changed my mind and was too lazy to make the flying geese…
Now for PART 2–remember the deal…If I have to write the directions…You have to read them….all the information on the piecing of the block is in these PDF directions…example…What to cut your appliqué block to? It is in the PDF!
Now here is the pieced version with Part 2- The piecing will be the same for each version unless I specify in separate directions for the blocks.
Do you like them??? If am super excited and want to start stitching the next round!!!
Please remember to be patient with this Stitch Along stuff… I didn’t expect this to be what it has become and our girls have a lot on their plate with our normal orders and our block of the week event…We are a little company and cannot compete with Amazon and their shipping times…. so what I am saying is please be nice when calling or emailing…we want you to get your stuff, we purposely are not holding yours hostage to make you mad…we want to please you and we appreciate all of our customers…if something isn’t right we will figure it out and get your your quilting goodies!!!
Now I wish you all a Happy 4th of July and hope you make it FUN!
PS…send me some of your photos I will do a post of everyones I get!!n Some have sent them…I am holding on to them…
We will ship part 2 at the end of next week…after seeing how many orders we have accumulated
I am loving BOTH versions, Lisa. Hmmm–there just isn’t time, but, oh, how I want to do them both. Thanks for what is already shaping up to be a wonderful design.
I got a chuckle about your plea for people to be nice to your girls. It isn’t funny that people are rude to them and it is sad that you even have to ask people to be nice, but I love that you are in there going to bat for them!
Hi, Lisa! Things are great here in Utah–but HOT! Unlike the frigid air when you were here.
Okay, so I got my wool center block done last night and I absolutely love it! Hoping to piece part 2 today–and am trying to tell myself I don’t need to do both versions. That conversation is getting heated. Where do we send photos of our blocks when they are completed?

Oh my gosh, this is FABULOUS!!!! I love. love, love the border around the wool center! But I can hardly wait for another wool applique block! I’m afraid I’m getting a little obsessed… Thanks so much for all you and your employees do! They are so helpful and patient! It’s all just so amazing it is hard to wait for the next installment. Thanks again, and Happy 4th!
Lissa….I am sorry but I don’t want to let you down so I am going to give you a little hint…there are no more blocks! There will be more wool, but not blocks…LB
I’m confused. Are you still doing the wool version? If not, please cancel the remainder of my
blocks. I want to applique with wool…no piecing. Thanks, Linda
Gartner
Linda…I am sorry for your confusion…I never said I was doing ALL wool blocks…I presented the one…and said I was going to continue to add on to this…there will be more wool, but there is piecing as well. I will add on to the half square triangle border for Part 3….I forwarded your request on to the shop to discontinue your shipments.
Thanks Lisa for taking the time to share this fun stitch along! Considering doing both versions…I was looking for a red, white and blue project! Do you happen to have mind reading skills, on top of your many other talents? Have a happy 4th!
Hi – I haven’t received the first part kit – I checked on my account page and noticed that I have ordered it. I know you are super busy, but just thought I’d check in. Thank you – Deborah Kuchta – 4903 N Calumet Ave., Valparaiso, IN 46383 (219)241-4066
Lisa… WOWZA WOWZA WOWZA Can you say Liz loves it!!! Well I do! I like both SAL’s so much I’m going to do both!!! I love the look of patriotic colors (that’s my being retired Air Force I suppose) My only problem is between those and your SBOW2014, I’m not sure if I’m going to have time to ride my Harley… 🙂 Ok, slight exaggeration, I always make time to ride but I will tell you the Wool projects fit nicely in my saddlebags and when we stop I whip out my block and stitch away. Oh and btw I too had a problem when I went to the link to download the pieced directions, the graphics printed but most of the words didn’t, only the Large Bold type words did, go figure. I think I can follow from the link so no need to go to the trouble to email them to me, just wanted you to know something was funky 🙂 I posted a couple pictures on Primitive Gatherings facebook page of my progress on this and my SNOW winter mat… I’m putting the very last colonial knots on and then the backing 🙂 🙂 🙂 I <3 it so much, thanks for your patience in class teaching me those colonial knots! Hugs from So California, Liz Schraeder
Hi Lisa, I am doing the sbow and would like to have the thread list for it. I have looked on the web site but couldn’t find it and I also called the shop and was told to look on the web site or call back another day.
Can you help me with getting the list?
Thanks so much, Lynn Howell
Lisa, I’m a little confused. I would like to order the fabric bundle. Can this be used for the wool block too since the colors seem more like for the pieced block.
This is bundle is for the pieced version…..we are kitting the wool version and not the pieced version, but offering a fabric bundle instead….also I see a lot of comments about the pieced version being red,tan and blue…this is black…I know computer screens are not all the same…hope this clears it up
Thanks for the color clarification showed blue on my screen too

Wowza Wowza I love this 10th Anniversary SAL I think I’m going to do both ways wool and pieced! I tell you you’re keeping me busy Lisa, with these, the 2014SBOW, the bitty banner of the month and the tiny treasures quilt of the month! Oh and all I have left on my winter crazy mat is a few colonial knots and the backing/binding! Lol I even take my various wool projects with me when I ride my Harley they fit in my saddlebags so nicely, i’m becoming known for always having it with me people are always coming up asking me what I’m working on! Thanks for all these wonderful projects hugs from Southern California, Liz Schraeder
So excited and happy with part 2 of the SAL. I’m almost done with the SBOW 2013 and can’t wait to start the 2014 SBOW. However, with the SAL, I’m having a hard time deciding what to work on next. I think I will have three of your projects going at one time, since they are all so beautiful. Thank you again for all of your hard work you do for all of us. Also, thanks to all of your employees for the work they do too. It really must be a nightmare during the summer months for all of you. I will see you in a couple of weeks for a workshop in Michigan and I also can’t wait to start that project and be in one of your workshops…I hope I live to be 100 yrs. old b/c I can’t stop working with your wools and beautiful projects…love all of them and all of you that make these things happen for all of us.
I love your SBOM, but I am assuming that all the spots are taken? Will you be selling patterns for that quilt at any time? I just happened across your blog today and have loved your work!! What is the background fabric on your wool Stitch Along? I love it and would love to do it in the same fabric. Are there kits for the SAL? Thanks so much for the lovely patterns and inspiration!! Hugs, H in Healdsburg(CA)
Helen
The pattern will be available around October some time for the BOW…It will also be done as a BOM
There are kits for the SAL order them online on our website probably under BOMs or NEW. The fabric background if from Floral Gatherings by Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics
