I have waited until our Grand Opening Week to announce that the CA stores website is up and running!!!! It also uses Paypal!!!And we have awesome SHIPPING RATES….anything over $100 ships free! I also want to take the time to say that the two stores are NOT alike and carry different inventories!!! So please if you are a regular WI store shopper please stop by and visit CA! Primitive Gatherings California site is HEREThis website carries realtime inventory. Jared and Luke have worked hard to get it all together and to look like a Primitive Gatherings website we can be proud of.
PGCA-primitive gatherings california…We are also doing what the WI store does during the summer…we are giving away a FREE wool applique on flannel block kit and pattern…each week for 15 weeks there will be a different block offered, so you will want to collect them all…there is always a catch and that is you need to spend at lease $17 to get the free with purchase blocks….there also will be a finishing kit sold separately that will be offered about half way through so you will have plenty of time to decide and we will have time to kit them…this info will be announced when the project is finished and I know all the details…..one of the blocks shown here…CA also has a Summer Block of the Week, starting today, June 8…The wool version is the same as the WI store…but they have a different pieced one…Little bow ties is a 12 week program…We are cutting 72 charms…36 of 2 prints each for a total of 144 bowties each week…seems like a lot right? but they are so simple…easy cutting and very easy piecing!!! I know cause I am making them myself as well!!! This bow tie quilt project was inspired by Ardie Skjoad’s bow tie quilt shown here…Ardie…is Rhonda from Farmhouse Threads’s Mom!!! Ardie is also teaching at PGCA. I fell so hard for this quilt we HAD to kit it and why not do it as a SBOW! I just realized this is not the whole quilt…darn…will fix this when I get a chance…the quilt is 6 blocks by 8 blocks…each block has 36 bow ties! We will be making 4 each week..72″x96″. All fabric are civil war reproductions…it is a beauty…
The cost is 18$ per week for 72 -5″ charms, plus you have to purchase the background from PG separately…We suggest 6yds as this will cover a small border and binding or if you want to use some of your scraps and make it king size…whatever you choose the background will be enough….We have chosen a Moda Bella solid or a Primitive Gatherings Primitive Muslin as your choice for a background at a special price. The bella is $48 and the primitive muslin is $66.I hope these pictures inspire you to join me and the CA store in making this awesome quilt. We will be able to ship these out as well and will have some special pricing options for a pay in full purchase.
Now…the CA store is also offering the wool on cotton version…Somewhere in Time…
This block of the week is 15 weeks for $17 and includes 16 blocks, 12 sashing and all the borders which all contain wool appliqué!!! It will be awesome…especially if wool appliqué is your thing…this SBOW is for you…no piecing except for basic sashing and borders. We also have a thread kit offered for $55, again a special price…reg.$63. We suggest you purchase these threads as this quilt will use a lot of thread! There will also be a supply kit of fusible web, marking pen, circle template, project case, needle threader and needles for $45.98, again this is a special discount because you are ordering everything. We aim to take real good care of you…The best thing about this group is we are having a special members only(those who have signed up) Facebook group…where we will be sharing, giving tips, videos and lots of information while rooting you on!!!It will be like taking a class…so this is a great opportunity!
This project below is WI pieced block of the week…and can only be purchased through the WI store…again…its going to be awesome!!! click here for WI website
And don’t forget about the freebie that I am finishing!!! Heres a peek….So there are a lot of things for you to occupy your summer with at PG…I hope you can join us… If you need to call instead of ordering online …please call 951-304-9787 and we will be glad to take your order over the phone.
Hi Lisa,
I just ordered the SBOW in wool last night from the WI store. I live in Northern Ca. Will this make a difference, or are the weekly freebies the same from each store? Of course, I ordered it last night! If it would work better for you all the purchase could be switched over to the Calif. store. Let me know!! Looking forward to sewing this gorgeous quilt!! Hugs, H in Healdsburg
Awesome Lisa absolutely awesome bowtie quilt has been a long time favorite on the bucket list so guess who will be signing up at PG CA tomorrow…. LOL Yep that would be me
Is there a way to get the bow tie kit rather than doing it as a SBOW? I will be at your shop in WIsconsin this week and would love to just pick it up then. Good luck with your CA shop.
Hi Judy… If you wait until we are done cutting and then we can send it to you as one full kit…we do not have it all cut yet…. We are only on set 3 of 12… We save this cutting and packaging for our college kits…?talk to the shop when you are there
Hi Lisa. I live in the Bay Area of CA and am looking forward to finding the time to make it to your new CA location. I absolutely love these little bow ties and this sounds like so much fun to sew along with you. I certainly do not know how you find the time to keep up on all the wonderful things you do! I am wondering, however, if the quilt can possibly be made in fabrics other than civil war that you are cutting. I am a huge batik fan but do sometimes step out of the box using many different fabric lines. Please let me know if you might be able to provide any other fabric option so that I could mix it up a little. Thanks.
Sorry Patty…this is a big project and we do not have the fabrics that you mention… We are heavily stocked in civil war so that is our only option…,thanks for the suggestion though…LB
Thanks for the reply Lisa. I am still very interested anyway in joining in with the sewing. So, I just spent a bit of time on your website and wonder if it would be possible to use your PG background fabrics with the Civil War fabrics you are putting together in the kits? I think the variety of your background fabrics might look very nice. What do you think? Thanks.
I just can’t get over all these fabulous new SBOW you have designed for us. They are all glorious, and I am waiting with baited breath for my wooll and kit to arrive. The new bow tie is darling. It is such a fun exciting time. Wishing I was still in Cali to celebrate the grand opening this week. Congrats and thanks for all you do!
Love the bow tie always wanted to do one but did not have the scraps to do it. Sooooo before I left work here in CA I ordered it. I love civil war. Could you please wave a magic wand so I can find time to do all theses kits. LOL.
I was able to visit the California store 2 weeks ago. All I can say is “WOW”! What an awesome place. I spent at least 2 hours looking and buying. Thank goodness I have an extremely patient husband. Luke and all the folks working in the store were so friendly and helpful. Of course, I had a nice big shopping bag of goodies to take home with me. I can hardly wait until my next visit down the road. Sure do miss you, Lisa, at the Long Beach quilt show. Wish they would bring it back!! Congratulations on the new store…..you all should be so proud!!
Congratulations on your grand opening! I visited the CA shop in April and it blew me away then, I can only imagine how much better it is now. Will stop by again next time I visit my son in San Diego. Wish I could shop in person more often, but it’s a long trip from Seattle.
Hi Paula…We did catch this error yesterday…we email and called to let you know we would get that pattern out with week 2…sorry about this…there was a lot going on and this is all new to CA store…I’m sure this is not the only growing pain we will have…again we apologize
