and sew it began….

Hey…I’m in Texas hanging out and teaching for the Baytown Quilt Guild…what fun ladies…we all starting making Christmas time wool tablemat in class yesterday…and I was so busy and we had such a great class I forgot to take pictures of it!!! so bummed…but while I’m here I have been staying at a wonderful retreat house…Ronda, my host set me up well…hung out with me and we stitched when we were not eating, lecturing or teaching…What I do have pics of is Ronda’s retreat house…And sew it began…is the name of the retreat house…It sleeps 16 and is just so beautiful..the house was build in the early 1900s with lots of character, located in La Porte TX…IMG_6715Texas where I am is very soggy..this grass was very saturated and very squishy…very green too!!!Here are some more pics..3

IMG_6683Almost every room has it’s own bathroom and there is even a sleeping porch for one lucky person to sleep in…Aren’t this little crochet dresses so cute!IMG_6680IMG_6681IMG_6677
So if you are looking for a great place to hand out and stitch…here is the site for the retreat house…HERE is the link for the retreat house….here is the link to Ronda’s BLOG…and yes Ronda’s name is spelled without the “h”…lol  She probably has much better photos on her site…Thanks Ronda for all you did for me during my stay.

Tomorrow through Saturday I will be teaching at Quilter’s Emporium in Stafford, TX…I will be teaching a bunch of Stitching Essentials…The pillow has some secret hideaways for your needles, scissors and blocks…These are un-published designs and will be coming out sometime this year….RoseAnn has had some cancellations due to all the flooding here…so if you get this and want to come take a class give her a call and see if you can get in one! The phone number is 281-491-0016…the rivers here are so high…I can see how much higher it was and thats a whole lot of water! My heart goes out to those with flooded homes…I used to get a little water in the basement when the sump pump would fail…but i can’t imagine being flooded…I can’t wait to meet my students tomorrow…we are going to have a blast!!!

It’s the travel pillow we learned about a while back only for the cruise she was on???? And yes I remembered another way to hang quilts, not bull clamps! Remind me again 😜👍
