I just want to brag about the wonderful time I had today with Vicky & Lana from NE, Vicky from Janesville, WI, Lori from Winneconne, WI an Terri from Oshkosh, WI…We had a wonderful 4 hours of stitching, food and discussions on quilting and lots of other things…one of the things we did today was trim off Terri’s quilt after it came back from the quilter… made a sleeve and I demonstrated how to apply a perfect mitered binding, without a lot of fuss. Here is Terri’s quilt…how awesome is this!!! makes me want to do more EPP! Check out that quilting!!! Way to go Norma Van Elzen! (the flouresent lighting in my studio throws off the color a bit…these projects were much prettier in person than my photos)
I actually cooked lunch for us…Cheesy Chicken Enchiladas…so simple but very yum! click here for RECIPE
We had some show and share!! Here are Lori’s projects she has completed since out last Sit & Sew…
Vicky & Lana came all the way from Nebraska to take a wool class the day before and stayed at the retreat house and came back again today!!! I think I gave them proper demonstration/instruction on their “feather stitch” and hopefully many more tips to help them with their love of wool appliqué…
I helped Vicky (also) how to stitch her pennies…and then how to attach them to the main body…I hope she bring it back finished!!!
I was working on the Farmhouse Threads-Harvest Mystery quilt block for July 1st….here is a sneak at that…sorry you’ll have to wait til July to get the free pattern on the blog! Everyone loved it!!! So I hope you will too…
I also shared my next fabric line with Moda…that will be sold at Fall Market and released in Feb/2017…they got to see the final 40 prints and 32 wovens…now I am just designing the projects and waiting for the sample yardage to come!!!
I think everyone had fun today!!! Do yo want to join our group? The next one is in September 13th in the WI store…treat yourself to some stitching time…and maybe learn a few things you didn’t know…all for today…
I see your thread book. I bought one when they first came out and I highly recommend it! Going to the Vermont Quilt Festival this weekend and that book will be in my tote when I visit the Valdani booth!
Attended you sit and sew in April. Was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to stitch at your studio as advertised but did visit your great store. Keep up the great work, girl!
blockquote, div.yahoo_quoted { margin-left: 0 !important; border-left:1px #715FFA solid !important; padding-left:1ex !important; background-color:white !important; } Take a look at the Flower Garden type quilt. Pretty colors and pattern placement.
Congratulations to Terri on her Road 66 finish, it’s really beautiful. I see some familiar fabrics there, I’m
stitching the diamond path now and have 3 rows together. This project has been a labor of love and I’m
looking forward to finish. This has been a pleasure to work on, thank you Lisa for another great project.
I noticed a lady sitting with a pillow stitching. Is that a travel pillow? I have short arms and have been looking for something to use at our local Quilt shop sit and sew. Thank you in advance Susan Jernigan
