I hope you are all enjoying our last month of summer!!! We are getting our driveway put in today!!! Yay!!! It’s winding down…almost finished and then I can blog more about Anchor Point!!!
But I wanted to let you know of this amazing problem I have…we have lots and lots of people who ordered fabric kits for the Magic of Christmas which we so appreciate!!!…and we can fill them all with one little adjustment…
I picked the background fabric for the country version because we had the most of it in our warehouse and was unsure of the brown…but…the one I originally picked and wanted to use Moda had a bunch in their warehouse..so it has all arrived…most of you will get the original version…but we will have to sub some with the tan/red shown here to make sure everyone gets a kit…Here are the two fabrics side by side…they are both from Miniature Gatherings..some of you may prefer the sub as it really was my first choice but knew we didn’t have enough at the time I chose the fabrics.
So if you absolutely are going to not like your kit if it comes with this fabric instead please let us know before we start shipping which will be really soon…
Also for you “City” versions….we are putting the fabric color numbers in your kits we have sent you in case you need to order more if you are going to adapt yours and need more…just in case!!! Don’t lose them!!!
Also I know some of you are asking when is BLOCK 2 coming…as I stated in the Block 1 post I was going to wait until we shipped all the kits so you weren’t way behind before you got yours…I asked for two weeks…so when I get back next week I will post another blocks or two?
Thank you so much again for joining our SAL…we are going to have a blast!!!
I am going to Dallas tomorrow!!! That means a visit to MODA and a retreat with a bunch of the designers and Moda staff members!!! So its going to fun, fun, fun!!!
I ordered one complete set of City and three groups of reds only in country because i wanted a different background fabric. I love the bottom choice. I’ll have to call the shop tomorrow and investigate. I’m loving this project.
Have a great time with the other Moda girls.
See you at Market. Hugs
Lisa I am excited about doing this and thanks for the update on our kits. I assumed alot of people had ordered and that was the hangup.
I do have a question for you. i emailed the store to ask if you had a retreat home. Moda indicated that you did in your bio and I and my friends would love to hang out in your area of Wisconsin. I cannot find info on this anywhere. Thanks for your help Cathy
Hi Lisa, I ordered the country material and I would prefer the sub material if that is ok with you. I like the two tone instead of the other. You can sub for me. Have a great time in Dallas. Anne evers
I would prefer the second fabric if possible. I searched several local shops for the ‘Side By Side’ print. I even considered calling you to see if I could substitute. I’m looking forward to my kit, whichever big it comes with. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Hi Lisa, I ordered the country set and would prefer the fabric on the bottom please. They are both pretty, but I think I would be much happier with the red one. Thank you.
Hi Lisa! Love seeing all the new things happening at the lake house! I ordered both kits but I would really, really prefer the red one on the bottom for my country set. Thanks again for all you do and really looking forward to seeing you at our Guild in September!
From Order id: 39672. Invoice PG14121123. of the two fabrics for the background, if possible I would prefer the lower fabric for my kit. It is the one you did not use in block one. Questions, call me at 630-514-1595. Thank you. Margaret Morris
I love both fabrics! I cannot make a proper decision without seeing all the awesome reds you plan to send with it, so surprise me! The quilt will look be amazing either way.
whatever works best for you guys works fine for me. I have a stash simply because I can never figure out what I want – that’s why I try to get kits now. You are the experts as far as I’m concerned. Thanks … and have a great time at Moda – SOOOOO jealous!
Thanks too for this wonderful Christmas project, going to be so much fun. I too ordered the country and would prefer the original fabric (top). Thanks for all your hard work girls.
Lisa, I ordered the kit for country version and either of the background fabrics are beautiful and I will be thrilled with whatever one you send in my kit! I think it is a beautiful quilt and thank you and all your help for the fun opportunity to make this quilt! Have a fun, safe trip to Moda!
Hi, Lisa. I already sent an email but noticed people are indicating their preference here. I ordered the country kit and I rally do like the original fabric better than the sub. So please send me the kit with the original fabric. Barb Whitehead
How exciting for you on your home. When you travel the way you do, you and Nick need a place to come rest and be a family. So happy for you. May God continue to bless you and yours.
Great problem, having MORE fabrics! I ordered the country version and love both fabrics, but I’m like you, I’d prefer the original pick that you didn’t have enough of (bottom picture) if I had a choice! You guys are GREAT! Thanks for the update! Can’t wait to get started on this stitch along!
Hi – thanks so much for the email. If at all possible I would prefer receiving the top pictured background in my kit rather than than the red. Thank you. Cynthia FITCH
Hi Lisa, I just received my Country version fabric yesterday and I’m going to start working on it today. I got the fabric with the red & green on a cream/tan background. I had no preference so it is fine with me. I love it. Can’t wait for block 2 to come out. I am on a limited budget and this kit is soooo affordable – thanks so much. You’re the top of my list of designer/owners!
I’m not sure if you suggest pre-washing the fabric and then before you cut it – starch it to the wet point, let it dry and cut it —- or if you forget the pre-wash. What do you suggest? Thanks again. M
Hi Marlene
Thanks so much for joining us on this to chill long it’s so fun when we have a whole bunch of people doing it the answer to your question is yes starch your fabric wet hang it to dry and then start cutting it that’s what I do with all my cotton fabrics before I begin. I don’t wash but I saturate them with the starch and let them dry…then your ready to go!!!
Wow – thanks for the fast reply. Onward and upward!! I would like to post photo’s as I progress. I’m not a great stitcher so it should make other quilters feel pretty good about their progress. I like to think its the effort that’s the prize.

Hi Lisa I rec’d the City pkg yesterday & have completed the block!! I also ordered the country pkg as well & I am good with whatever works for you guys! I am just so excited about this project!! This is my first with you. I have done several of your patterns but this is a first directly with you! Thanks for all you do to allow us to keep being creative! Karen
I requested the red fabric in these comments and sent a message to the shop. So guess which one I got – the red and brown. And yes, I really, really, really hate my kit now. Do you have the red for purchase????
Hi Jackie
I’m sorry that we had already shipped your kit before we got the comment… But please for fastest results send all communication for orders to the shop email or phone in the future…all these comments get sent to my email and then I toward them on…We do have the other background and can send it out… Call the shop to see what can be done to get you to not “hate” your kit….
hi Lisa, I was confused by your explanation. I would rather have the one on the bottom (red “equal” sign) not the tan/red for the background. Hopefully this will get to you before you ship. Thanks, looking forward to the future blocks.
I would prefer not to get the kit with the new background fabric. I am the one that had requested that my kit not be sent out until mid September as I would be traveling to Florida and you called and said you could not hold it. I did call back and indicated that if it could not be sent to Wisconsin by August 26th then I would have a problem receiving it. I am not sure were you are with sending out kits. Please reply to me so I know if my kit has been cancelled. Thank you, Sue Poquette 352 446-2987 slpoquette@icloud.com
