Block 25…Triangle Gatherings…and a fish story…

TRIANGLE GATHERINGS BLOCKS HAVE BEEN REMOVED…BOOK COMING SOON!

Oh it’s so good to be home…Tuesday was a beautiful day…I hung out with the fisherman for a little bit…He is bound and determined to get me to fish with him…He previously took me shopping to buy a pole (I asked if they made a “lady” pole— we found a Lady Trion that was white with an teal reel…perfect!!! …then he let me pick out my own lures…I picked the pretty ones…notice my matching tackle box too?(see those purple and pink lures..pretty huh?) so on Tuesday I thought I would spend some time with him…just a side note…I have not picked up a pole to fish since we bought this place in 2012…I’m pretty coordinated… so I can handle a pole.. he told me where to cast and how to reel in the “crank bait”keeping the pole low so the lure does what it’s supposed to do…so about the 4 cast I told him”I think I got one”..he said no honey that’s just the bait hitting the rocks on the bottom…I’m like no…see the pole?  So this is what I reeled in!! My first fish at Anchor Point and the first fish I ever caught without a worm….also notice he had a new “fishing” shirt for me when I arrived…probably so I wouldn’t notice all the other stuff he got…I really don’t care…you know…don’t ask me what I buy and I won’t ask you kinda thing…I’m sure some of you have this same kind of “arrangement”…

Now back to that fish…I guess it’s a “pig” for a small mouth bass…it was about 4 lbs…I asked if we could “mount” him and he laughed…it was my first “pig” after all..he released him back in the water….Oh and in case you want to know what I caught him on…this guy…

After I caught him..I headed back to the house to my domain…ahhh yes…this is where my happy place is, I had Blockhead blocks to make…but in the meanwhile…the fisherman kept finishing until he caught one…he did admit thought…mine was bigger!!!

the moral of the fish story is…When I make a quilt…it remains…hopefully for a 100 years or so…when we catch a fish we eat them or let it go???  I don’t think I need to say anything else about where I will be spending my time…but it was fun catching the fish…just the look on Nick’s face that I actually can catch a fish!

PS…I don’t always put the blocks in archive right away…I kinda want you to read my posts!!! So if you know someone is saying they can’t find block X and block Y…it’s because they are looking in the archives…If you look at the top of the blog they are catalogued there..under the heading…

my best…Lisa

Love your fish story Lisa! Congrats on the catch. It was so nice of you to go fish with Nick even though it’s not your thing. It will keep him happy right? But I totally get that your happy place is in the sewing room. Moderation right? 💗

Teach a man to fish and he’ll always have food. Teach a woman to sew and …….well……. the possibilities are endless.

Ahh Lisa, I grew up fishing and love it, hubby is more of a sports guy and doesn’t take me fishing. You make me miss sitting by the lake and waiting for that pull on the line. Take time to enjoy it with your husband, he just wants to share this time with you.

Hi Lisa, Love your fish story. Love your tackle box and lures! I really enjoy you taking the time to share with all of us who have been followers/fans of yours for years. It’s like the family album!

Thanks for the block. I have them all printed and since today is my last day of employment I’m hoping to put my life in the right direction and start doing all the things I have been stashing up to do when I have time. I need to live a long time or work day and night..or both. Have a great week and thanks again for just being you.

Thank you for this sew along Lisa! It always makes me laugh/irks me when people say they can’t find the blocks in these sew alongs. They are right where they are supposed to be- in the blog! Blogs are meant to be read. And really, if you do not want to take the time to read the blog(s)… you don’t want the blocks very badly! IMHO anyway. And yes, my husband and I also operate under a “Don’t ask/ Don’t tell” policy when it comes to our hobbies. (Within reason)

Great fish story! My dad always told me to hold that fish high and extend your arm straight toward the camera…the closer to the camera the bigger the fish looks 😉
Thanks for this fun project❣ Enjoy your weekend

Congrats on your bass! Your fish story reminded me of one of mine. Hubby wanted to go fishing. I wanted to just lay in the hammock and read a book. I finally gave in but took my book with me. So we are out in the row boat, he is casting away, I just ‘plunk’ my line in the water with a bobber. Nothing is happening, I bring out my book and occasionally look at my bobber. To my surprise after about 15 min, I look up and my bobber is gone. Most people would be excited that their bobber is gone, hence a fish on the line. I was annoyed. LOL I was in the middle of a page, didn’t have a bookmarker. hahaha I found a piece of rope, put it in my book, started reeling in my line and on the end was a 8 inch perch!. He never caught anything that day and I haven’t been asked to return to the row boat. LOL

Congratulations on your “smallie”! I love bass fishing, but like you don’t get there as often as I wish. Getting older I have become more of a fair weather fisher woman! 😜 Had to laugh about the comment about what he buys! We don’t comment on what each buys for our habit! 😉

I can relate to your fish outing. My men are fishing addicts and I received a new rod for one Mother’s Day. I still do not know what the rod looks like! My son makes pretty lures that ladies like to fish with. I think the men just like us women to be in the boat with them. I finally decided I would go in the boat but instead of fishing I would do quilting (applique) so as not to waste time! Problem solved! Janet Kay
