TRIANGLE GATHERINGS BLOCKS HAVE BEEN REMOVED…BOOK COMING SOON!
Thank you everyone for understanding that I needed to take care of hubby during his surgery…He is doing well and I thank you again for continuing to pray for his recovery…I just entered the sewing room today for the first time in about 10 days…Feels good to be back…unpacked from the trip and organized what needs to get done…
As a warm-up I did 3 TG blocks..but only had the graphics to 65, so I will get them from Terri tomorrow and give you the other two blocks…she usually gives them to me 10 at a time..
Since I am trying my best to be a good nurse for Nick I am staying downstairs and decided that we would do some canning…So Mom has been over, the long weekend and we made the following…stewed tomatoes, whole tomatos, medium salsa, mild salsa, beets, both pickled and plain, I also vacuum packed sweet corn and pablano peppers that I will freeze for my tater tot casserole and chicken enchiladas…I am looking so forward to next year..staying home and cooking for my friends & family…I will be putting labels on each one…
Happy Labor Day everyone…hope you all had a great weekend! Lisa
I’m glad Nick’s recovery is going well…and of course continuing to pray. Wow that looks like a lot of work with all of that canning I still would love to learn (it’s on my bucket list, along with learning how to grow a garden) Thanks for the block I’m still in major catch up mode but I’m happy with my progress.
That’s some serious canning you did there!! Good to be able to be at home, take care of your hubby and look forward to enjoying meals together in the coming year. Every day is a blessing. Enjoy each one!
You have been very busy in that kitchen! Do you think you might share some of those recipes, like the salsa and the tomatoes? I’ve never tried to can, but have lots of garden tomatoes. Happy to hear your husband is recovering and you are at home again.
Wow !!! All of those lovely jars just waiting to be put on a shelf. You are amazing…never sitting still for a moment…truly inspirational.
My thoughts are with and your hubby for a speedy recovery.
Wasn’t it fun to do some canning with your mom. My mother always helped can the bounty from the garden, makes great memories now while I do this by myself, I just know she is giving me a nod of approval from above. So glad Nick is improving and you are getting some much deserved home time. Enjoy and take good care of both of you!
It is so nice to have your Mom to help with all the canning. It is work! The rewards will be so tasty next winter. My mother use to help me and I really miss her now. I usually make salsa and pasta sauce and freeze tomatoes plain for soups and stews. So glad your husband is doing well.
Such good news about Nick! Will continue to keep you both in my prayers!
You have been a canning machine! All I’ve done this year is make freezer jam. 🙂
Glad to hear things are going well with Nick. I certainly don’t know what it is like to have your drive and super powers, so I hope you will take care of yourself too when something inside tells you it is time to do so! All the best.
Some pretty serious labor this weekend! Your tomatoes did very well! Ours are just now getting serious, so lots of tomato sauce in my future, and salsa too, I hope!
Canning/freezing looks yummy. Haven’t done that in years. Remember family first. Triangle Gatherings can wait. I know that I have plenty to keep me busy in the mean time.
Wow! I picked and made raspberry jam and blackberry jam this past weekend. How do you keep your kitchen so neat and clean? Mine’s a mess after canning.
