TRIANGLE GATHERINGS BLOCKS HAVE BEEN REMOVED…BOOK COMING SOON!
Hope you are having a great Saturday night…I am home playing Nurse again…and still… I am a horrible nurse…even with all the practice…Nick had the back surgery yesterday that he was supposed to have earlier this Fall when they found the brain tumor…He is doing OK…there are some issues with his numbers after his cyber-knife radiation…he is seeing his endocrinologist next week…I did some grocery shopping…made some soup and prepping some meat to make “hot beef” for one of the three get-togethers I have M-W…dishes done…and then I escaped into my sewing room…picked up and put some stuff away…still a lot to do but then…I made these…so enjoy!!!I am also working on my layout…I will need 98 blocks…so that is how many there are!!! They will come fast now!!
I am reading/listening to the Outlander series…8 books in all…I just started book six…I love this series…and then when at the Outer Banks…Cousin Mary brought her Amazon stick and we watched most of the series!!! So now my goal is to get Nick to watch them with me again…because I just found out we already have STARZ!!!!
It is historical and very interesting…Scotland/Jamaica/America in the 18th century…must read and watch…the books are sooooo much better!!!
Thanks again for the Triangle Gatherings blocks! And I totally agree, as good as the series is, the books are 10 times better! I’ve been reading them since the first one was published, and I dread the day the last one is released… it’s been a part of my life for almost 25 years! I re-read the series at least once a year.
Planning ahead for coordunating fabric purchase: When we get all 98 blocks done, will we use 1 hue sashing betwern all blocks? Thanks for the inspiration, the nook reading suggestion, and for taking the time to inspire us even as you are busy helping Nick. Trust you both will have an Advent of peace and healing into Christmas and the New Year.
Lisa, I enjoy reading your blog so very much! Love how personal it is… thank you for sharing! And prayers for Nick to recover quickly and completely from his surgery!! Ugg! Not fun especially during such a busy time of the year! Thanks for the fun blocks!! Hugs from Pris in Idaho!!
You are amazing! But get your husband well! You do so much! Outlander is amazing. Books and the Starz are so good. I think you and Diana G. are sisters at heart. You do so much for your fans..Don’t run yourself ragged. We need you for the long haul and many years of inspiring ideas..
Lisa, We love and admire you more than you will ever know, but it’s ok if you need to let go for a while. Take care of you and hold tight to your guy. We’ll be here when you get back.
Hi Lisa been a fan of Diana Gabaldon since Cross Stitch (Outlander) came out and have met her a couple of times when she came to Australia. I’ve read all of her books at least 10 times! They’re addictive to say the least. And I agree with you the books are a great read and better than the films although they are still good. They couldn’t possibly put everything in her books on film they would be too long – not that I’m complaining of course! Love your blocks but am so far behind. Cataract surgery has got in the way unfortunately. Hope your husband gets well soon. Keep up the good work.
You found my favorite series of books. And now you’ve given us more of another favorite series. Triangle Gatherings. Wishing Nick a swift recovery & wishing you patience (sometimes those men are worse than babies). Merry Christmas.
I also listened to them all either on the road or while sewing, love, love, love them !!! And I talked my husband into watching them with me and he enjoys them too ! Good luck to Nick, and hoping you survive your next adventure as Nurse Lisa !!!!
I’ve been following the triangles and sewing. The practice has been good for my piecing of small blocks. Who knew there were so many possibilities in layout. Thanks, Lisa! Wishing Nick a speedy recovery.
I love the Outlander series! It is amazing! Someone gave me the first book as a gift, when there were only 4 completed. I have loved it and the series is so good. It is pretty true to the books, but the books are always better! I love hearing the correct Scottish pronunciations! I had been mascaraing many of those words! I have loved this sewalong. Thanks for your generosity and kindness in sharing this with us at no cost. It will be an amazing book one day! Hope Nick is feeling better soon! I’m off to my sewing room to splurge on a few more blocks! I am determined to finish this year.
Lisa, just love these blocks. Is there a way to make these into 12″ blocks. Next year I am participating in a 12″ Amish block exchange with friends. Thanks
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Lisa. Speedy recovery for Nick. Thank you for all of these beautiful blocks. Hope you can spend a bit of ‘you’ time in your sewing space.
Sending healing wishes to Nick and good caregiver vibes to you! We are watching Outlander too and both enjoy it, even though there are some harsher parts to it. I’ve only read the first 3 books. Hopefully some time over the holidays, you guys can have a marathon 🙂 Thanks for the new blocks!
Loved the Outlander quote. I have read all of the Outlander series and have seen all of the Starz shows. I wish she could write faster. Too many years between book. And your quote was the BEST!
