Today is the first day of our 12 day countdown to Christmas…whether you are shopping for yourself or for friends these will make great birthday gifts/ hostess gifts/ retreat gifts all at great prices!!!
If you order right away each day you may possibly get your package before Christmas, if that is not a concern to you…I know some of you wait until the end and place your order then…but be aware that some things will not be available and are special purchases for us…like these socks……I am sure Moda will get them back in stock but it will be months/(if ever) before we may have them again…just to let you know.
When I saw these socks in my Moda bucket at market, I was super excited and immediately though all quilters need/will love these!
Mono-cromatic colored socks with patchwork and a great statement for getting those quilts done!!! ย With the motto: Pedal to the metal-could they be any more perfect for those days spent sewing!!! lol…My heart was saying have-to-have…score!!! those are mine!!! and also…the perfect gift for that quilter friend who has everything or the one that you don’t want to make anything for because their stuff is alway so perfect!!!
We have a bunch of these in stock but I know they are limited so we won’t be able to order them forever…..if you HAVE to be styling while stitching….here’s your newest accessory!!! ย Wear them well my friends…
The Moda socks are reg. $14.99 a pair…but for our Needful Things they are specially priced at $12.99 a pair or if you buy the set of two they are only $24 for both.
If you want to win a pair of socks…Please comment on this post with a good estimate on how many pairs of socks you own? ย I can’t wait to tell you my answer…Winners for all” Needful Things” posts will be picked and announced on Jan 1st 2018!
I have had a few groups of people over that last couple of days! So much fun(ornament making, eating) was had by all…I hope everyone has a chance to get-together with their sewing friends for a little holiday time…Do you recognize anyone?
Are you talking “fun” socks, “seasonal” socks, athletic socks, work socks, hiking socks…I could go on and on! I’d love to add these to my sock drawers : ) Thanks for the chance to win!
Merry Christmas, it is a time of Miracles from our Lord. May everyone be blessed with good health, peace and happiness and a lightness in the heart that can only be felt when the Lord is working in you!
How clever! Everyone needs socks! And super cute to boot! I probably have 25 pairs of socks. Some short, some long, some thick, some thin……the possibilities are endless..
I must own 50 pair of socks and I cleaned the drawer out this fall. I may have a hoarding issue on socks. should I go seek some counseling. Ha ha ha. Peace and joy
I have about 12 pairs for me. Doing laundry every week for the 5 people who live in my house, I feel like they take on a life of their own. My children do not have the ability to get them in the wash. I am glad they have taken to the 2 mismatched socks. Life is much easier.
Iโve been eyeing these socks! They are so cute! I have probably 30 pairs of socks. 9 pairs that I made, which is a fun hing to do when I take an evening break from handwork. What fun way to start the Needful Things!
Finishing up 4 Christmas gifts hopefully. I am making one for myself and the other 3 are for my daughters. My project is one and one half inch squares that piece together to form an old red pickup truck with 3 Christmas trees in the bed. Binding and adding sleeve to back so it can be a table runner or a wall hanging. So cute!
What a blessed group of ladies to live close enough to be able to come stitch and hang out with you Lisa. Love the socks!! I have a pretty good collection of smart wool and darn tough wool socks for winter but kind of slim pickings on my other socks. I probably only have around 25 pair of socks in my sock drawer.
I used to own a drawer full of fun socks….not any longer. I have maybe 3 pairs of those stupid shoe liners when I have to wear sneakers. Or when I go home to Michigan in the winter, I buy a pkg of white crew socks and a couple of pairs of Christmas socks (on sale) from Joann.
My wish is….peace. My silly wish for me is a sewing room that magically organizes itself every night or 3x a day. Maybe a “Samantha” do-dad that twitches and voila!
Merry Christmas!
My favorite socks are my hand knits. I probably have a dozen pairs. The fuzzy slipper socks are pretty great too, however I can only find one of those at this time!
Lol. I probably have hundreds. Special occasions plus the two pairs I wear everyday to keep warm. I love the happy socks such as these moda. Itโs like having a secret in your boots
Gosh, until I read some of the replies, I thought I had a bunch of socks, but I would guesstimate that I have 17 pair. Apparently I could really use another pair or two, lol.
Love, love the socks, I maybe have only 75 pairs counting summer and winter. But that is just an estimate. Enjoy your blog and all your designs. Merry Christmas to you and your precious family…
Merry Christmas! I have maybe 12 pairs of socks. If I could have one gift for Christmas it would be peace, kindness and true love for others. Our world is in such a mess. I love to sew during this time making one of a kind gifts for friends and family.
Smiles, Sue (parkssueellen@gmail.com)
I own about 20 pairs of socks. Ten are ankle no shows for warmer temps and ten are winter wool socks. Some I have knitted and some are graphic . Think sock monkeys and lots of sheep.
I don’t have a number, but every year for the last 15 or so I give my daughter socks for her birthday, which is around Halloween. It’s an expected thing now and when she opens her package her two little girls are as excited as she is about the socks and seem to think the socks are for them even though they are way too big. I love socks.
I have 15 pairs of Christmas socks alone. I would wear a different pair every day for my first graders to try to guess what they looked like. Many many other pairs, I wear them all the time in the house instead of slippers. Was gifted 2 pairs of Quilting socks many years ago. Best present that year.
Enjoyed your blog today! Lovely socks. What would I want if I could have everything? Peace thru Jesus Christ to everyone in the world. Have a Blessed Christmas, Lisa!
I have about 25 or more pairs. Most of them are basic black or white but I do love my seasonal ones and ones with the fun designs. I am definitely a sock wearer. Love these socks. Merry Christmas!
I have at least 100 – all kinds – my favorites are the funky ones or the holiday ones. Everyone needs 20 pair of Christmas socks, right. This is the only month you can wear a different pair every day !!!
Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year !!! ๐
Living in the cold of Michigan I am forced to wear socks for most of the year. My best day is the day I break out the sandels in the spring–my worst day the day the boots come out the fall. I try to make it better by having fun socks. Many seasonal ones. These would be a fun addition.
My best winter ones are from Duluth Trading Co the plain black Smartwool socks. I think I have 7 prs of those but Santa is bringing 3 more pairs. My sockies! Am going to order 2 sets of your fancy fun socks one set for me, one set for quilter daughter. I have to!
I recognize two people in your photos!!! I wish I was in those photos!
Socks, socks and more socks – I would guess I probably have over 75 pairs of socks! I really need to clean out my sock drawer! The quilting socks are super cute!
Lots of socks for me. 7 hand knit pairs and 26 others, all different colors and patterns. Wait, almost for got the ones that are on the knitting needles. The quilting ones are super cute!
I’m sure I have at least 40 pairs of socks. I recently started wearing them most of the time. Why did I wait so long to change my shoe sstyle so I can live in socks?
My Husband tells me that I have “Sock Issues “. I own a lot but they each have a purpose and a reason. I don’wt own any sewing socks at the moment. I should probably get some ๐
I keep my socks in a pull out tote under the bed, but also have a small basket of socks I wear weekly. When getting ready to move I realized I had enough socks for a centipede and that is a lot of socks. Donated enough to keep feet warm to those on need
I have two pair….just bought them from Amazon. That sounds pitiful, doesn’t it?! i don’t really like socks…either don’t wear any or wear knee-highs. ๐ So, if i won, I’d put them under the tree for my daughter.
Since I live in sandals and wear them from the first signs of spring right up until I’m sure the snow is here to stay in the fall I only have a half a dozen pairs of socks. These Moda socks are pretty snazzy!
Lisa
Love the quilting socks!!! I have at least 30 pair of Christmas socks, I wear them all year long. Except the week of Halloween, and I have about 9 pair of spooky socks. Plus the regular and extra fluffy/ Iโd guess 60 pairs! So I definitely need more.๐
Stacy
Wish I were as organized and cleaned my sock drawer more often….137 pairs of socks and that’s not counting the basket of lost friends in my laundry room…time to clean out….socks for fun, for comfort, for walking, for dress shoes, for gym shoes, for warmth, for hiking, for winter, for summer……yikes!
I am embarrassed to say this, but I may have @100 pairs of socks! Between the summer ones, thermal ones , and utility socks I wear to work, (I sand and refinish hardwood floors for a living, and ruin socks constantly with stain and polyurethane!) I’m close to it, and when you add in the handlnit ones I’m addicted to making… suffice to say I’m close to 100. But I NEED these! Would look great with my see through Chuck Taylor’s don’t you think?!
I love socks, especially the cute ones like this! I think I have about 60 pairs of socks crammed in my sock drawer. I always buy my daughters socks for Christmas. I forgot one year and they kept asking where their socks were.
My daughters thought all my socks were atrocious so last year for Christmas they both gave me socks. Together they gave me 42 pair. Plus I couldn’t get rid of all my old ones so if you add those in plus all my outdoor boot socks I probably have closer to 75-80. That doesn’t count the knee high nylons I had left over from my working days which is probably another 50 pair.
I know I can go 3 weeks without washing a load of socks for me. I guess I’d have to say I have about 25 pairs of hand-knitted socks in my drawer. The store-bought ones I don’t really count …. they are only for walking the dog and doing yard work! Would love to win these Moda socks. For sure my retreat friends would be JEALOUS!!
Well i was going to count my socks just for the heck of it but I have a dresser drawer full. I did count my wool socks and I do have 13 pairs just with those. I would guesstamate possibly 40 pairs!?! Bunches of short socks for summer, regular ones for jeans, novelty ones……
I even make socks….for me and others! My husband gets holes in his and I have stopped trying to mend them…now he gets thick yarn and fat socks! I have lots of socks! Ho Ho Ho!
I have at least 75 single ones in my drawer๐but probably 16 pair that match up. !! The 75 single I donโt know guess I need to throw them out. Maybe after the first of the year when I get caught up on things which never happens in my world. Oh well when I donโt have a pair I pick 2 that look close๐Merry Christmas!
Oh, these socks are really cute! If I had to guess Iโd say between 12-15 pairs of socks. Some made to be mismatched which are so fun and one pair of leg warmers from ages ago. This Cali girl only needs socks in the dead of winter.
I really don’t know how many socks I have. I started collecting socks with every quilt trip that started with a trip to the Chicago quilt show several years ago. I forgot my socks and hunted for 2 days to find a pair of socks at the show. So now it is tradition to get socks whenever I go on a Quilt or any trip. My last quilt trip I got socks in Iceland.
Wow! So many socks! I have seven pairs. One for each day of the week. That way I HAVE to do laundry. A pair of the quilting socks will go to the woman who inspired me to quilt. Thank you.
I have about 60 pairs of socks — because there are winter socks, summer socks, in between socks and special over the other sock, socks! High socks, low socks, socks you can’t see when wearing them, and then of course there are black ones, white ones, and colored ones — I have a lot of socks!
I have a whole drawer full of socks, I would estimate about 50 pair. Love this socks, I would definitely make room in my sock drawer for them. Merry Christmas to all..
I want to win a pair of socksโฆan estimate on how many pairs of socks I own…way too many. I have thin below ankle socks, regular ankle socks, trouser socks, thin boot socks, thick boot socks….you get the idea. With 4 full seasons of weather here in the NE and outdoor activities from walking to snow shoeing one needs to be prepared. Believe me I try to be prepared. ๐
Oh dear, at least 30. Plus I just cleaned out my sock drawer and all the ones in good shape (another 30) I’m taking to the shelter. I’ve finally had to ask my family to not give me any more socks – no matter how much I like them!
Well, I am thinking that I must have over 40 pairs. And, yes, I probably only wear about 7 or 8 pairs–but– you never know when I might need those other 30+ pairs!
Iโm out town so I canโt count them but probably 30 pairs – half of which I donโt wear. I think I will get rid of them when I get home a buy cute ones like these.
I have a fair amount of socks, 30-35 pairs I’m guessing and that’s not counting a bunch of unopened socks I bought on sale! Even though I live in Florida I always run towards cold feet!
I just counted my whole sock drawer and there are 80 pair overflowing in there and tha’s not counting what may be in the laundry basket! I am shocked!!! But I still will buy these!
I love your blog! 3 dozen socks is my guess. Next, I decided to count them. After throwing out the holey ones, I had 38! I gave my daughter ones that I never wear and now I have 30.
For Christmas I would like a new PRESIDENT of the USA so we can start the year not being embarrassed every time he opens his mouth. Sorry, not intended to be a political statement; just want to be proud again of who we are as a nation….
What a question! I can only guess – maybe 150! Holiday socks, warm wool socks, “dress” pants socks, tennis shoe socks, and old, old socks for mowing lawn. Living in Iowa we need to be prepared for everything.
Love these socks! I could wear them to my upcoming retreat in February!! Don’t know how many socks I have, but it may be time to purge since I am going to start to knit socks in the New Year!!
I go to the gym five days a week so … having 12 pairs of white socks gets me through a week! I almost never wear them, except the gym, so in the summer I only have to do laundry every two weeks… well, socks, anyway!
There’s nothing like putting on a pair of soft, warm and fun socks to put me in a happy mood. I think I have about 35 pairs…what can I say?…I love socksโฃ
I took a mental photo of my sock drawer and guessed at 75. Maybe the next time I do laundry I’ll do an actual count. I didn’t buy these as I don’t buy socks which are this tall on the leg. I prefer shorter ones.
I have 30 pair of socks, which includes 3 pair of bed socks and 2 pr smart wool. I donated 20 pair of socks this summer to homeless shelter.
Love the BOW designs.
I love fuzzy socks! LOL However, living in southern Arizona I don’t get to wear them very often. Right now I think I have about about 30 pair (since I like hiking and wear boots, too).
The number of socks I have depends on if you count those that don’t have a mate. My dryer gives me lint in place of a sock now and then. I hang onto loners just in case the mate magically reappears (which hasn’t happened yet). I love funny socks.
Oh man! I was embarrassed about my 43 + pair of socks until I read some of the other comments, Then , I decided I was in very good company. I love, love, love wearing socks.
I have about 50 pairs of socks but I tend to wear the same ones over and over again until they get a hole in them. When that happens, into the trash they go. I do have a pair of red and white stripe socks that I wear probably once a week, winter and summer. I love them.
Hmmm…I probably have about 90 to 100 pair if you are including footies and knee highs. However, I do not have ANY sewing socks and I think those would be magical!!! Now a question for you…are you supposed to throw socks away if they get really thin on the bottoms even if they are your warmest, favorite socks?
I would have say around 50 pairs. I have so many different kinds. My favs are the nice warm slipper socks. I would love to have the Moda socks . They look nice and thick.
Socks! Probably too many-Iโd be embarrassed if I have to count them. I have socks to wear with sneakers and a workout. Thin dress socks. Heavy socks for clogs and heavier socks for winter sports. Socks with a Christmas theme. I donโt however, have cute quilting socks!
I would have to say I have at least 55 pairs of socks, but none are quilting related! Then there are the socks that are missing their “friends”. I swear the washing machine eats them!
I have probably 30 pair of socks in my drawer. Half of them have holes in the toes but i think they serve me well since they are stuck in combat boots all day. The other half are more like footies socks super thin ones that i wouldnt dare yry a shoe on with rhem in public, and a few are my husbands that he still wears. Of there is one thing i hate spending money on its socks! Because no one will see them!
I probably have 30+ pairs of socks, but wear the same style over and over. :-). I even have Holiday socks, but when I get dressed I seem to head right toward my every day sock drawer. Maybe a couple pair like these will help me remember.
I don’t gave many socks at all living in AZ, so when the temperature does drop I have to do laundry more often because I only seem to have 5 pairs of socks suitable for work. Maybe I should get some…..
I have too many socks to count! I have a “thing” about socks….especially fun socks! Ankle, calf, knee high….I love all of them! I love the quilting socks. So darn cute!
I would like to be able to attend, with my sister, a week long retreat with you and the ladies from Old Green Cupboard for free. it is something I would love to do but can’t afford.
Neat socks! I would say I own about 20-25 pairs, but none as neat as these. My husband and I are visiting our son. Every time we visit I bring our granddaughter a packet of socks. It has become a tradition. She could probably say she has a hundred pairs of sox! Also she loves to sew, so she would love those Pedal to the medal ones. ๐ Have a wonderful Christmas!
I have to many socks to count. I have socks for my tennis shoes, thin socks, thick socks, fun socks, socks of different sizes so I can layer them when I sitting around the house. They seems to take on a life of their own.
Hi Lisa, Great socks! I’m guessing I have 50+ pairs of various shapes & sizes. Now I want to go count them. Tho I tend to wear the plain black most of the time. Love the pics! Thanks for doing 12 days of Christmas again. Hugs, Jakey
I just donโt have time to count them but I have 4 drawers full. I had to wear an uniform for work so socks were my way of personal reflection. One drawer has holiday socks ie Christmas, Hearts, Easter, Halloween, St Pats etc. one drawer is short socks for summer & sports. One drawer is a mixture of regular socks with designs or different thicknesses. And the drawer with the least is the new sock drawer. Guess you could say that was my splurge with my husband shaking his head. Do an estimate would be over 100 +/- . When the thick ones get stretched out they become dust rags so Iโm not counting them. If I won, these would be gifted to a quilty friend who doesnโt have enough socks.
I’m a quilter who knits … 82 pairs of handknit sock – I’ve gifted 12 pairs ( that leaves 70 in my drawer) + 12 pairs of gym socks … or rather, sneaker socks as I do not go to the gym, + 4 pairs ofgifted to me quilt-themed socks + 7 pairs of miscellaneous socks + 3 pairs of boot sock for my infrequent trips to visit my sister in VT. That equals 96 pairs of socks … AND … I live in Florida and mostly wear sandals. But I love socks!!
I must have more than 50 pairs of socks. I had boring blue, black and white in long and short styles. Then last year decided to spice it up with crazy colors and patterns. Much better. Time to toss out the majority of the plain ones. The Moda socks are very fun!
I have 96 pairs of socks and that does not count the ones in the dirty clothes basket. My friends can testify to that. When we shop I go right to the socks.
I would have to say about 55 pairs. You can never have enough socks. There are winter socks, summer socks, tall socks, short socks, etc. You have to have some of all of them.
Love the socks. I own the about 30 pair but hardly ever wear them cause I wear flip flops mostly! But my feet are cold right now, and I can’t put socks on cause I fell and fractured my hip last week, and it hurts too much to bend over!
I have enough socks for about two weeks, but they are old and slowly you all of sudden find a hole in the heel, sadly, I need to stock up as I haven’t bought any since I retired two years ago….shame on me.
Too many socks to count I think – footie socks to wear with gym shoes, colored socks to wear to work, holiday socks, fuzzy socks, boot socks, I even have a pair of Very Hungry Caterpillar socks to match the ones I’m giving my grandson for Christmas. LOL!
Oh my goodness! I have so-o-o many pairs of socks! I have a huge bowl right next to my bed filled and actually overflowing with socks. If my feet get cold at night (I am old) I just reach over & put on a pair. I have NO idea what I have on because it is dark & I don’t want to turn on the light to disturb my hubby. Most times I wake up & I am wearing 2 different unmatched socks! Doesn’t matter-my feet ARE WARM! My guess-probably between 40 and 70 socks in the bowl!
