cherry chip cookies

Good Morning…

I am enjoying some home time before my trip to California this week…I have been organizing…planning the up coming year and just kind of doing whatever…I know some of you like to see what ‘little man” and I are up to so…I thought I would share this…sorry no quilting in this article.  When “little man” is over…there is no quilting!!!

You all have heard how cold it is here in WI…it is below zero degrees (I call this bezero pronounced beh-zero) and it has been for a couple of weeks…but that is not all that bad…really…there are some good things that happen when it’s very cold…

“Little man” was sleeping over on Friday and I asked him what he wanted to do…and the answer was…MAKE COOKIES!!!… I gave him a few choices and he picked cherry chip cookies….(click for printable recipe)

He loves putting the ingredients into he mixer…and then sampling the results…

He also loves scooping them onto the cookies sheet and he does well with this because of these cookie scoops…I used the #30 (medium) for these cookies…even a kid can make pretty cookies!!!   I have three sizes in the cookies scoops…I call them cookies scoops because that is what I mostly use them for…but I am sure you can find lots of ways to use these!!!   Funny you can see me taking the pic…

As you can see we also used all the cherry chips we had, I guess that needs to be added to the list…lol…cherry chips  you can get two batches out of one bag.

I like to bake mine so they are chewy…I look to see that the edges are just starting to turn brown…

while I was baking the cookies…Jace told Papa he wanted Papa to “nap” with him…Jeter was participating too…he’s the smart one…and took the bed.

Sampling our labors…

We then took a little drive out to the Lake to walk on the ice and to see the “ice houses”…they were pretty far away so we didn’t go close…”littleman’s” first walk on the ice…we also have a few rituals on sleep over night at MiMi and PaPa’s house and that is the nightly bath time…his wrinkles were pretty bad this time because he was not getting out until Paw Patrol was OVER!
all for now…LB

Thanks, Lisa, for being so thorough! I was wondering where the cherry chips come from, then saw the link! Great for Valentine’s Day…my fav holiday!

Jace is adorable. He reminds me of our oldest grandson, Sam, when he was little! I’m sure he keeps grandma & grandpa busy!

Love to read your stories about little man since I too have a ‘lil’ man in my life. Funny, I have been calling him lil man too since I started watching him at 4 months. He will be 3 on Valentines Day and starting Montessori school this month! ;( They grow up so fast…

So much fun and making memories. Grandson is really getting big.
Lisa don’t you want to come back to St George to teach again. I have shared what I learned last year with ladies from friendship group. I tried to talk them into coming with me last year to Quilt St George retreat but they were not interested then. Now they wish they had listened to me.
2018 we are going to start a wool friendship group…can’t wait…
Thank you for sharing your talent.

Lisa- Your Lil’ man is just precious, and your Cherry Chip cookies look yummy! I too, have never had them! I’ll look for the chips. What brand are they? It’s so nice seeing another Grandma enjoying her grandson. So fun for him, and you and Grandpa! We have a 4 yr. old great grandson, and we all adore him. He’s such a fun, funny little guy, a ray of sunshine, smart, and so sweet. ENJOY! We really do have other priorities besides Quilting! : )

Thank you for the baking info….did not know about all the scoop sizes AND cherry chips! Cherry was and still is my favorite flavor. Guess I have some amazon shopping to do! Love the boat bed! No wonder Little Man likes to come to your home. The cookies are mouth-watering good lookin’……I like them chewy, too, not hard and crunchy. Every entry does not need to be quilting. Between you and me, I could think and sew quilting 24/7 if only I did not get sleepy and need to take a time-out for my eyes!

Fun times with Little Man. I loved it when my grandkids were young and we had lots of sleepovers. I have never seen the cherry chips. They look delicious. It’s been below zero here in Maine for a couple of weeks as well. Just a good time to stay inside and get caught up on a few things.

Enjoyed hearing about your special time with Jace! Where did you get the bed that looks like a boat (in the background of the napping picture)? My grandson also loves Paw Patrol, & Cars!

The deep freeze has hit MD too with the wind producing the minus degrees. If I had that tub I would be like little man, not getting out till necessary. I made your frosted oatmeal cookies & they were tasty. So looking forward to cherry chip cookies. Thanks for the stories & pics that give us a peep into your life.

Hi Lisa, Thank you for the cookie recipe! They look delicious! I love the pics, especially the one of them walking on the ice, lovely smiles. All the bath toys reminded me of bath time when my son was little, such fun! Wish I was going to Road… Have fun!! Hugs, Jakey
