Quickly… I wanted to let you all know Nick had a second brain surgery on Tuesday the 3rd of July we are back here at Froedtert with some complications…

It’s been one hell of a morning is all I can say… but I feel better he is here now and they can take care of him.

I tried to keep this all on the down low not make a big deal about it… but that is not how it is going to happen…I have not worked much since he arrived home a day and a half after his procedure…way too soon to be put in my hands for his care…

I can’t post or if I do get a chance to be on my Phone/computer it isn’t much…just to check/delete emails and I thought by now he’d be on the mend…and all would go on…

His brain is leaking and is under a lot of pressure… so I’m sure there will be yet another surgery soon hopefully

Please say a prayer for him…

So I am asking you to be patient with me and I’ll do my best to keep up on the things that really must be done..

I know I’ve promised some posts and videos in my FB groups and other things as well but this is why I’ve been absent and might be for a bit…

Thanks in advance for your understanding…

  38. I’m so sorry, Lisa … As far as I am concerned, we need to be way on the bottom of your list of things to do. Your priority is to continue doing what you are doing …. loving, supporting and taking care of your husband and family. All we can do is pray and support YOU in this difficult time.

  39. Lisa,
Your priority is your family and taking care of yourself. The rest is just stuff that doesn’t matter right now. I’m praying for you both and hoping for improvement for Nick.

  42. Lisa, prayers going up for you both. Take care of your man; we all have plenty to stitch on. Forget about us for awhile and focus on what’s important — and it’s not stitching! Hugs!!!!!

  43. Nick will be added to my prayers and you and all your family at this very stressful time. I went through cancer treatment this past winter for a form of leukemia and at the same time my son-in-law was also being treated for cancer. What you learn is that almost nothing else matters but family. Projects go on the “back burner” because appointments at the clinic, surgeries, blood transfusions, chemo treatments, reactions to meds, all those things take precedence. Take a deep breath, if needed, just put some things on hold. I have completely looked at my life and how I thought I should be living it and made some changes that lowered stress. I should add that I’m in remission but my son-in-law is still in a battle with his cancer. Remember the words of Scarlet O’Hara…..”tomorrow is another day”. Things will get better, they may be different and that is certainly the case in our family but because of family and friends we get through to that other day. Oh, and always having a stitching project to keep my hands busy was better than some medicines I was given. 😉

  44. We’re not going anywhere. Take all the time you need for your family. Prayers for you and Nick.

  45. Sending prayers for Nick and your family during this difficult time. Keep your chin up.

  46. Do what you most need to do. All this blog stuff will keep. Take care of Nick and of yourself. People get this. You have a lot on your plate. Prayers, and God bless.

  47. Lisa – you and Nick are in our thoughts and prayers. Nothing scarier than issues with the brain. Take it one baby step at a time. Know that your quilt friends are here for you and all you need to do is call on us at anytime. Knowing people are there for you and really care for both of you is comforting and very important. ♥️ To you both.

  48. Family comes first! Take care of Nick and yourself! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

  49. you are both in my prayers..don’t worry about stuff! take care of Nick & yourself.

  50. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family, as well as the caregivers. Don’t worry about anything other than your family. Everything else will be here whenever.

  51. Dear Lisa,
Nick, You and Family first! My prayers for all of you and the medical team attending him. God Bless, Lynne

  52. Praying for you and Nick. Please don’t worry about your work at this time. Take care of yourself.

  53. Your husband and family come first – and also take care of yourself!
Those of us who look forward to your shared creativity can be very patient and should not be of your concern at the moment – I too am sending prayers for your husband’s full recovery

  54. Prayers for you and for Nick’s healing, Lisa. Times like this require that we are away, caring for our families. I feel certain that we all understand that. Please take care of you, too.

    All my best,
    Joni Jecklin

  91. Lisa, pray. My son came home from Duke University Medical Center last week after 3 brain surgeries, 1 facial nerve surgery and a month in the hospital. He was released the day after the 2nd surgery and retuned via emergency room within 36 hrs. Complications, pressure, staff infection, you name it. At least 5 church denominations praying, friends and strangers. We prayed him home. He is making great strides. In my mind a miracle – God pulled him through. Keeping you both in our prayers – God will pull him through.

  92. I am so sorry to read this – you have both been through so much with this. Froedert is a great place for him to be. Prayers for both of you and his medical team to give him some relief quickly. Your energy needs to be with him- family first- always! Hugs 🤗

  93. You and Nick are in my thoughts and prayers for a full recovery. Is this in relation to the adrenal gland tumor?

  95. Focus on Nick and you/your family. The rest is just “stuff” and will get handled someday. What is important right now is Nick, you and your family. God bless you all!

  96. Lisa, attend to Nick and don’t worry about the rest. He’s what’s most important now. Will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

You have priorities right now that do not include us. Yes. Thank you so much for thinking of us at a time like this and for updating us. Get back to us from time to time to let us know how he’s doing and how you are. I for one, have you both in my prayers for a successful out come. I will be here when you need reinforcements. 171. Of course take care of Nick first, but also take care of you. Family first (we all can wait and it’s easier to be patient when we know you have stuff going on), but caregiving ain’t easy so accept help when it’s offered. It is a blessing to the *giver* and a help to you.
    Praying for the best outcome.

  172. Lisa, I’ll be prating for Nick and you. My husband had a rare cancer of the spine, Chordoma, recently and I know what you re going through with hospitals, waiting, sick husband and everything else. Try to rest as much as you can because it’s all you when he gets home.

  173. prayers for both of you. Business can wait- everyone will understand. Sure hope they can get him some relief.

  174. Nick & your family are in my thoughts & prayers. Please take care of yourself and your family and everything else will wait. Years ago my husband was on life support for 5 weeks. I was there everyday and with the support of family we made it through this difficult time. I thank God for each day I have with my husband. I wanted the world to stop and let me catch back up…but that is not how things work. Take one day at a time. One breath at a time. You can do this and become a stronger person…that is what I did. Focus on Nick and stay strong. Know people are praying for Nick and wish him a speedy recovery. Take care…hugs and prayers.

  175. Nick is your #1 focus right now—be there for him, everything else can wait. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. God bless you both.

  176. Fingers crossed & praying for you both. I echo the mantra of all of us — family first! You can only do what you can do & nothing more! Don’t forget about you, too! You’ll be no good to him if you don’t take care of yourself first! Best of luck with any future surgery he may have. Try to get rest while he is in surgery, recovery, sleeping. Again, prayers!

  177. Lisa, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Nick to have the strength to get through this. My husband says that God doesn’t give us more than we can handle, even though it feels like it sometimes. My husband is also facing a serious health issue currently. He has Membranous Nephropathy, which is a kidney disease of sorts. I hope that your doctors as well as ours can get our men healthy again. I miss my best friend not being his old self and I’m sure you are feeling the same way. Be strong my friend and know that you two are loved by many. And remember that it is ok to push work aside…people will understand. XOXO from Michigan.

  178. Take all the time you need, right now Nick needs you. Being a caregiver is hard, please also take care of yourself.
    Big hugs

  179. Right now your only concerns should be Nick! Nothing else matters🙏🙏
    Do take care of yourself…….

  180. Oh wow Lisa! Please take care of yourself and Nick. Don’t worry about others – it is their time to help you. My heart and prayers go out for both of you.

  181. Lisa–I want you to know I will be keeping Nick and you in my prayers!!! May God give you strength for each day and continue to guide and direct the doctors as they care for Nick!! Give them wisdom and kindness –but also God, please put a healing touch on Nick–make him healthy and whole and remind them bothmany are praying for them and lifting them up when they feel they can’t go on!! Encourage them and let them sense your presence round about them!! –Sue Mills

  182. We all understand, take care of your man, that is your first priority. Prayers coming your way.

  183. prayers to all, take care of your man. The rest of us can wait until he is on the mend & you are not so stressed.

  184. Praying for Nick and you, Lisa. Lean on God. He will be right there beside you both.

  185. My prayers are with you and Nick. Hugs to both of you. Robbi Buckles
