Life is crazy…I can’t really tell you how good it feels just to take Jeter for a walk…it is hard to justify these little things when deadlines are crashing into one another… but I just wanted to do a short post while sitting in the airport in my way to California…about how nice it was to give myself this time to hang out with the dog yesterday…
We have a mike and a half trail around a little lake about 2 miles from home..
Jeter can, run, sniff, mark every bush and just do what dogs do without a leash…
I do have to brag about one of Jeter best tricks/stunts…I never have to “pick up” his doodoo and carry the bag with poo around in it until we get home… because… he ALWAYS backs up and does it in the bushes out of the way….
Now don’t be hating on me…I’m sure your four legged friends are talented in other ways…this just happens to be Jeter’s superpower…
All tired and ready to go home…
There is much happiness in the simple little things like being able to just walk the dog…
I have my Moda blockheads with me to catch up on while teaching at retreat in CA!!! Time to step out from behind the 8 ball and get ahead of things to come…
All for now… Happy Small business Saturday… I can’t thank you enough for supporting ours.
Lisa
Have a great weekend Lisa.
Wish I was attending😞. Knew you were a great person—anyone who has a pit has to be special.
Actually Lisa, you should pick up the poop…it is still on the trail…even though it is on the side…lots of people and kids wander…just a thought.
I knew I would get this comment…it was meant to be funny and light hearted… I pick it up if I think anyone would step in it…and what about the deer poop… who should pick that up?
Great point!! I would add horse manure too, never see anyone stopping, getting off the horse, using a shovel, LOL. If you were walking in a nice park or city sidewalk, go for it—
So glad to hear you are taking time in your busy life to just walk the dog. I am sure Jeter enjoyed it as much as you. Blessings during this special season.
Thanks for sharing Lisa. Jeter is not only skilled but beautiful too! Hahahahaha. Safe travels.
Hi Lisa, I agree, sometimes the smallest things can bring great joy. Love Jeter’s trick! Man we’ve got Moose poop here in CO, talk about side stepping! LOL! Enjoy your retreat, wish I was there! Hugs, Jakey
I have trained all of our puppies to do their “business” in the outer boundaries of the yard and into the taller grass. It’s so worth it. Good boy, Jeter! I agree that the simple things are so meaningful in our lives that sometimes gets so crazy! Enjoy, and thank you for taking the time to drop us a few lines of your daily life! 😊
Walking the dog is truly a pleasure especially with such a handsome guy like Jeter!
Oh Lisa… what a lovely post! Jeter is a blessed boy to have you for his mom!! Have fun teaching at retreat and catching up with blockheads!!
We just got home from a quick trip to Seattle to check on things / work one day at our shop in Puyallup. We also got to spend a lovely Thanksgiving day with our oldest daughter Amy, her hubby Todd and his family. Todd’s mom is an amazing quilter… incredibly creative… and I’m always inspired by her work.
I’m so glad you took time to do something “normal!” And good for Jeter doing his business so mom doesn’t have to scoop! Being a “big dog” owner, I totally get that!!
We have a light dusting of snow this morning! We’ll go get Gibbs from the Pet Resort, then I hope to spend the day sewing!!
Happy retreating! Thanks for your warm posts… I enjoy reading them!
Warmly,
Pris Phillips ❤️ (Your new friend in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho)

You need that down time Lisa! Nice to see u take it! Enjoy your CA retreat. I have a friend going.
Ahhhh….sometimes its the little things…safe travels and enjoy your retreat! I’m sure Meters will be anxiously awaiting your arrival and the next hike!!
One smart dog and cute too!
What a good doggy! Hahaha! I walk my pooch every day and am grateful that I can and that I actually WANT to walk the dog. Nothing like some fresh air and a sacked out dog to justify stitching for a while. Keep on, Lisa, and thank you for all you do!
how handy is that – a dog that covers/hides his own poo!!! you need to figure out how that developed & market it:)) Glad to know all is well.
Lisa, where can we locate your teaching, retreat schedule?
Can I ask what that is on your dogs collar?
Enjoy those little moments that bring you pleasure! You need them too! Safe travels – enjoy your California trip.
You are such a busy lady and I know a lot of people appreciate it. But, you have to take some “me” time and enjoy life. I love walking my dog, Bentley, and being outside. Enjoy your time!
Safe trip Lisa.
The big deference between dog’s poops and deer or horses…..
It has been estimated that a single gram of dog waste can contain 23 million fecal coliform bacteria, which are known to cause cramps, diarrhea, intestinal illness, and serious kidney disorders in humans.
What a beautiful place to walk you and Jeter; stay in touch with nature and he is free to roam and run.
You go, Jeeter! Good for you!
I need to walk my Haley more. Good for both of us. Really happy you got out.
I bet you both had a wonderful time! It’s nice to enjoy the simple things.
what a nice time you had thanks
