The Geese, are them welcoming me home?…I don’t know for sure but it does feel like it…the photo is deceiving…they are about 10 feet off our shoreline…
Wow…it was a jammed packed trip to CA…first off our Retreat in Temecula Valley (wine country, and yes…I did take a walk to the nearest winery for a couple of bottles, you have to support the local economy…and I took some pics of the roadside flowers….which I currently am missing in WI…
Our retreat was filled with projects with an emphasis on Stitchery…We made, Gingerbread Recipe…
And Hilary the local Redwork expert helped teach our Gingerbread Towels…
I also demo’d Bakers Dozen on how to make the cording and do the whole button thing….
We had almost 50 ladies and we had a blast…I love it when I get to know them a little better…some have been coming for a couple of years and even if it was their first time…I felt I had a little more time with them this time…
Our Next retreat is scheduled for June 2019…Do you want to come? Dru will be taking reservations…you will need to send $100 to hold your spot …Or we will be holding another retreat this time of year next year as well…75 degrees felt good…considering…this is what I came home to…yes…I had to brave the wet/snowy day at Lambeau Field yesterday…I should have take an after photo of how wet we were!!!lol…
With 50 ladies I did not have time for any pics during our classes…but I did get some nice pics during our Show and Share…those that brought a Primitive Gatherings project we especially rewarded, with a NEW Release Martingale Book!!!
Deb Thomas shared her last year’s pieced Summer Block of the Week…Starlit Skies
Along with her center block of this years wool Summer Block of the Week…Twighlight Garden which will be a BOM starting in February…no link to signup for this one…but make a note in your calendar in January to sign up for it if you missed out on it!
and then she shared her basket made in a class at the Primitive Gatherings California Store…made with PG flannels and wools…
Shelly’s sister Adrian shared a bright kids quilt that had to get done…I think the baby quilt wansn’t done or something like that…we’ve all been there…
Sandy shared…Along the Trail…from the Autumn Gatherings Book(no longer in print) but I think we should do a pattern for this one!
Then Karen showed off…Whirlwind Flight…this was so lovely!!!I watched her piece it at serveral retreats…so nice to see it all done and quilted by Karen herself too!
Mary Jane showed off here wool cover door stopper…aka a brick!
Carrie showed off her Snowman for Hire mat…look at that crochet edge!!!
After the retreat we had a meeting do discuss some new changes coming to our CA store…big NEWS…as soon as I can tell you I will…and then out for dinner at my favorite place…the Goat & Vine…a farm to table restaurant…a couple of meeting with fabrics sales reps and it was on to home again with 6:40 am flight from San Deigo to Appleton…thank GOD I was upgraded…made it so much more enjoyable, I am very caught up on my movie watching…Now into my sewing room to sort and start up again!!!
Hope you all enjoyed OUR show and share from our CA Retreat…if you want to join us email Dru at: primitivegatheringsca@gmail.com she will forward you a registration form…I am also working on a 2019 schedule of Events to share…
WOW that’s a lot of geese! Wish I could of joined the retreat again but will another time… lots of great finished projects which is always a wonderful feeling!
Lisa, you really have my attention now … can’t wait to see the BIG things that will be happening in the California store. Merry Christmas to you, your family, and your staff.
Wow, we were at Lambeau Field yesterday too! First time, great experience despite the loss….
I’m looking forward to another first, and that will be to take a class taught by you, Lisa, can’t wait!!
So many lovely projects participants showed. The Twighlight Garden is especially eye catching.
I’ve started the Baker’s Dozen Holiday Ornies and finding the wrapping of the finished design on the button cover to be problematic. I tried side to side, then top to bottom but still has folds forming. Any helpful hints? I saw in the instructions you were doing a video on the cording so looking forward to seeing it.
