We attended the new show called Opium in the Cosomopolitan…this little guy(the dog) stole the show…
This was Saturday night…then Sunday…we Uber-ed to the Harley Shop and then to Fremont St to watch the Packers lose to the Bears…yes, I did say that…and then we went shopping/hotel visiting…we went to the Bellagio to see the Christmas stuff…
Its It was pretty breath-taking… we then were walking…walking…walking

Then some more walking…and somehow we ended up here…
We finished up our trip eating at Gordon Ramsey Burger in Planet Hollywood…It was a divine experience.. then were off to the airport to catch the red-eye home…and arrived at 5:30 am…on Monday, just the right amount of time…not too long and three whole days was enough…just in time to start Christmas Week!
I am involved in a small group we named the Blockheads in the Cincinnati area. We are very close friends and text each other as a group throughout the day. We meet at least once during the week for dinner followed by several hours of sewing in a location where we have permanent sewing stations with machines, a huge cutting table and an ironing station. During the non-camping season, we usually spend Saturday together sewing and going to quilt shops.
I belong to a stitching group. They keep me motivated and also I have woolie friend who keeps me going. Merry Christmas, Lisa. I hope I can win something.
I belong to the Mohawk Valley Quilt Club in New Hartford, NY. We were so excited to have you visit our club and teach a class a couple of years ago! Some of us meet separately from the club meetings and attend retreats or trips throughout the year. Always better to stitch with friends – we help each other out. Thanks again for sharing your trip pics with us – looks like a wonderful place to visit during the holidays.
I have my Guild and then a wonderful Sat UFO group. We meet once a month to sew but really we just talk and catch up. Then on Tuesdays we sew at the Senior Center. You can’t beat quilter friends.
Our nameless group of three met at Glendale Quilt Guild. We all have put in many volunteer hours putting on our guild quilt shows. We meet at each others homes, at restaurants and travel to quilt shows. Two of us are Primitive Gatherings fans and love to shop. Our other friend is a master quilter. We get pointers from her on how to improve our skills. Our annual dinner and gift exchange at the Tam O Shanter in Los Angeles was in December.
I have a great sewing group at my favorite quilt shop in Vegas the Christmas Goose. I am blessed to have the best teacher ever & it helps that she is also the best long armer. I sure ♡♡♡ our Val. I have a great group of friends there including my bestie. We have so much fun & sometimes even finish a quilt. 🙂

I’m pretty much a loner, which makes it hard to be motivated. However recently my sister has been pushing me along, and I have gotten a few quilt tops finished! I hope to continue along this path, it’s nice to get some fabric used up
I’m in three groups, one group meets every Wednesday at a local church and we work on our own projects. One group meets on the third Saturday of the month from 9-3, hostess provides lunch we go to a different house each month, also working on our own projects. I take my Moon Garden blocks and hand stitch. The final group meets the last Tuesday of the month, primarily for lunch and show and share. We go to a different house each month, sometimes we go shopping or out to lunch if there isn’t anyone to host that month. I’ve made fabulous friends through quilting. I belong to The Antelope Valley Quilt Association in Lancaster Ca
My sewing group of 12 wonderful ladies has dwindled down to 4. A few moved away, a few died, and I guess a few don’t “like us anymore.” We still get together once a month, and see and listen to everyone talk about husbands—good or bad. We all share life’s Burdens, but sew on always. One of the ladies is one of the worlds master quilters. Her work is unbelievable, and every stitch is by hand. We also share fabric, old lace, patterns, and most of all food and enjoyment. This has been going on for many years. Always keep your friends in quilting and sewing, and cherish time spent together. I am a loner at Holly Lake Ranch, TX. I have found it easier to be a loner than to load up everything and drag it some place else. Besides I have the most interesting conversations with myself. 😍 Your flannels look yummy!
Eight of us use to have a bee. Several people left the group and it eventually just fizzled away. Very sad! It was always a fun time to look forward to! Missing them all this time of year! Hopefully a new group will surface. Truly miss our time together! 🐝

After Christmas I am joining a stitching group that meets at our local library to work on charity projects and joining a hand quilting group at my local quilt shop! Looking forward to both!

I am a “happy loner” but do have a long distance quilty friend to stitch with twice a year.
Love having the creative spark that comes from being with others. Sadly, our group has lost three members in the last two months, so it is just the “three amiga’s” now. One is a “newbie” , so there is lots of sharing and teaching going on. Have found that I really enjoy having a portable project to work on in the morning while I watch the sun come up. Yes I have a group and we meet two times a month at someones house. I usually can only attend one of these meetings each month. The ladies I meet with are a true inspiration. !!
I am fortunate to have a great sewing group. We were founded to always be an open group, and let new people join. They are some of the dearest people! I have belonged to quilt groups everywhere I have lived, and those are the people who always keep in touch.
We meet every Friday at the church. It’s a little retreat every week. We Bring our machines or not from 9 to 2 to sew, visit and have lunch. There are about 20 of us but it’s always different who shows up. There are some snow birds that sew where it’s warm for the winter. I live in Muskegon MI
We have a group in magnolia Springs, Alabama that meets every other Tuesday. They are a loving and great group of ladies that have met for many years and have welcomed this newcomer to the area with open arms. I love sewing with this special group who share good food, laughs, and warm friendships!!! Quilters are the best😍
Lisa, thank you for your post. Love the pics. I have girlfriends to sew with and I belong to a Guild. The answer to your question is that I love to stitch and sew with other quilters. However, I’m currently in a space of time in which I’m a bit of a loner. Stitching on Twilight Garden sitting on the sofa being crowded by my pup is my happy place.
I belong to a quilt Guild, but due to some health issues I have not been able to attend meetings. I have some great friends who are quilters, but live just far enough away that getting together often is difficult. I live in Decatur, Illinois and would love to have someone to sew with regularly who lives in town. Lisa, you are a brilliantly talented woman and I appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge and creativity. I have wonderful ladies that I sew with. We have been sewing together every Wednesday for about 15 years now. Quilting has been my therapy through rough times in my life and I’m so thankful for friends to talk and visit with.
My husband and I relocated recently, so presently I am without a local stitching group. However, I sometime am able to visit one of my former small quilt groups and attend their retreat.
I have a couple of groups that i sew with, plus i do enjoy my time alone sewing .
I do have a stitch group and love it. I move back home and didn’t have a group for 17 years and missed it like crazy. Then a new stitch store opened up and it had a stitch group and it is awesome to have like minded friends to do things with!

We are fortunate to have a room all to ourselves for 4 hours on Tuesday mornings at a local senior center. We all look forward to our woolies day of sharing projects, coffee and snacks. We help each through life.

I am a lone stitcher for the most part and ok with it. I work full time and so finding time to stitch is very random. I have one friend who quilts and we have done weekends when we stitch or quilt shop. And we can chat quilting all day long!
Funny you should mention this as I was fortunate to be invited to a stitching group just recently and went for the first time last week. What a great group of women. I am looking forward to going back. Thank you, Lisa, for sharing your photos with us from Vegas. I especially like the sewing machines in the store front.

I have been in a sewing group for almost 20 years! We started out as 10 meeting once a week! We are now down to 5 and don’t meet regularly, but have so much fun when we are together! Wish we could go back to once a week!
Quilters are the BEST!!! Everyone is so willing to share their knowledge. I belong to a Guild meeting once a month, a group we call Applique Society monthly and another weekly called Splendettes which started at the beginning of the first Splendid Sampler (smaller group as we meet only for an hour or so at 8AM) And, of course about 4 retreats a year.
Hi Lisa……..love the pics of Vegas……they know how to decorate! I belong to a quilt group with 50ish people and another small group of close quilting friends. We meet at each other’s house every month and have show n tell and exchange ideas, shortcuts and tools. It was meant to be a time to work on our projects but between the food and talking and laughing not much sewing gets done.
I recently moved to outside of Guthrie, OK, to an acreage where I can sew while looking out on beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Although basically a loner I go each month to our wonderful local quilt shop’s ‘Featherweight Day’ to sew with friends. They also have a monthly Saturday Sampler group that inspires me to get sewing.

Lisa, One of our shop girls groups is call Friday Girls. We meet and sew each Friday while the shop is open. Our party this year is in two day, Thursday. I issued a challenge for them to make a red/white quilt by Christmas this year. Anxious to see how many have their quilts made. We will have party foods, games and prizes! We can’t wait. I guess you could say that I am addicted to wool applique. I find it very relaxing and love all the projects I have done. I especially like patterns/kits from Primitive Gatherings. The instructions are very well written and easy to follow. I am a “lone stitcher”. I split my time between southeastern Wisconsin (Milwaukee ) area and Eagle River, WI. Would love to hear from others in my area and possibly get together to share ideas and maybe even some wool! Happy Holidays to everyone!

I sit and sew regularly with a group that also includes dinner. Really good friends. Have a second group that gets together occasionally. Love sewing with my friends.
I belong to a crafting group in NW Wisconsin that meets twice a month to encourage, enlighten and motivate one another as we chat up a storm. I also belong to a group of six quilters that meet several times a year for three day quilting retreats at one another’s homes. I am fortunate to have my many crafting buddies.
I belong to 2 great groups, quilters on Monday and rug hookers on Thursday..so much inspiration and friendship!
I sew with a group of friends every Tuesday at our local quilt store. We call ourselves the Tuesday Buds. I made a little embroidery pillow last year for our gift exchange with a little rose bud and this became the name of our group.
No, I don’t belong to a mini group yet. Haven’t been invited to one, but just realized maybe I need to start one! Hmmm!

I do belong to a small sewing group, it is a group of women who used to all be neighbors and now are scattered all over the Hill Country in Texas. We meet once a month and may work on a group project or individual projects, every one is so talented and it is always fun to see what they are working on.

I am a lone quilter. I have quilting friends but we have all moved so far away that it makes it hard to meet up, still hoping to make that happen! Would love to know if there are any primitive quilters in the Dunbarton, N.H. area where i moved to 3 yrs ago. I am retired but stay busy helping with the grandkids. I have fallen in love with wool work and love you for all you do for us!

I have 5 awesome friends and we have stitch and bitch when we can, but we also go out to dinner together every week. We have traveled together to Paducah at least 10 times in the last 18 years and we’ve expanded to other quilt shows. We’ve gone on several retreats (our favorite retreat house is very near you Lisa!!). It is so great to have my stitching girls. 💗💗

I belong to a quilt guild but not a small stitching group. I have never looked into a small group but I think I would like to. I will add it to my list for the new year.
I have three sewing groups. One meets Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Just four of us, but a nice size. Then there are the two groups that I go to retreats with. Everyone works on their own projects. It is easy to get inspired at any of the sewing groups. So much to see and do.
I used to meet every Saturday to sew with a small group of ladies. We did that for 5 year. They were quite a bit older than I and were teaching me each week. One moved in with her daughter out of state. In the house that we met, the lady fell ill, did not recover and died. Now we just meet at a quilt retreat 3x a year. I sure miss the ladies and meeting weekly. What a blessing that was!

I also go to a fiber arts group of rug hookers, spinners, weavers, fiber artists, as well as others who knit, crochet and do wool appliqué.

I used to be in a guild, then I moved 500 miles away😔😔 I miss my guild and friends but I am now neighbors with my grandchildren. What could be better than that, not much. One day I will get back with a guild.
In 2000, 7 ladies began a class led by Penny Haren to make a Dear Jane quilt. Over a period of 2 years, Penny logically helped us put our blocks together. I was in my Master’s program at the time, but I kept up with 6 blocks a month. After completing that original quilt a bond was formed and we have continued to meet monthly working on other quilt projects and just becoming close friends. It’s all good.

I lived in northern Calif for 13 years and belonged to the Firehouse Quilters thurs group. Was a wonderful group. Miss those friends a bunch. We moved back to Smith Valley in Nev a few years ago. There is a group here. Health issues have made it hard to be regular, but I need to make a better effort. Some wonderful women there. We are a ranching family, and I always say I am married to the Lone Ranger, so I am very comfortable being alone. But I know I need to put more effort into being a part of the sewing group here, because I do miss those close friendships. Love your blog and quilts
I used to belong to a weekly quilting group, quilts and wool work. But it dwindled down to just 3 of us. One has moved away and one just passed away this year. I do have a knitting group that meets each week and I teach knitting to a group of lovely ladies at our library twice a month. I belong to the Grand Isand Quilt Guild, (NY) for my sewing inspiration. We have a small group (4 of us) that get together once a week. It’s a pretty sad group right now though. One girl just had shoulder surgery, another had surgery this week for carpel tunnel. The third just had a hip replacement. Guess I’d better watch out. I’ll just keep on stitching alone – still working on the projects you taught us here in Ontario. That was a great few days!
I’m a lone quilter where I’m now living in Ohio. It was supposed to be temporary move & I wasn’t going to get involved with a group but we’ve been north of Dayton for over three years. I do go to a quilt retreat in New Mexico once a year & have met many friends. I also love to go on quilt shop hops because the shop owners & the employees are so nice & friendly. I live in Tipp City, Ohio.

Things have changed here in Franklin PA. I used to love going to quilt shops, guild, classes and retreats with friends. I am homebound now because of physical limitations, and enjoy sewing at home, and reading blogs.

It looks like you had a great trip! The Christmas decor is beautiful. It would be a great time to visit places like that, but it always seems to be too busy for me to go. Some year I’ll have to get my act together so I could go. I am in 3 sewing groups. They are all just a little different, but we all share the same bond. If you aren’t in a group you should find some friends and start one. It’s more than just sewing friends, it is a support when someone needs a special friends help as well. You never know what great blessings you can find. Im truly blessed with my sewing friends!
I have a group of 3 to 4 come to my house once a month. None of use were asked to join other groups so since I have the Studio room my friends come to my house. They are new at wool work so I can help them. The 4 of us get along great and we aren’t going to invite any one else to join us. Like I said we have never been invited to join other groups. Several years ago I was asked to join this group and a few days later the house mother called me and said they didn’t have room for one more. We have a great time. The girls bring sub way and I make the sweet.
I belong to two stitch groups
I have a couple of sewing groups…one used to meet at a quilt shop that is ‘no longer’…now we meet at each others’ houses to continue our friendship and sewing. Some of the previous group are part of the second one, too! We found another quilt shop that hosts a ‘quilt till you wilt’ once a month that we participate in. We have met new people there who have become good friends and we look forward to seeing each month. For some of us (who are still working), these groups are our therapy when the job gets too busy…it’s like pushing the ‘reset’ button!
I have a group of three friends that get together once a week. We are called Stitch and Bitch. We meet at someone’s house and stitch all day! I also have a group of eight great quilty friends that go on retreat in July. We have gone for over twenty years ! I have two other groups that meet once a month. I have lots of support and motivation ! Love all your designs and love the tins I got !
I don’t have a sewing group where I live in NJ, but do have a group that I met on AOL over 20 years ago in their quilting forums. Five of us have remained friends from the group, have gotten together over the years to sew and I’m especially close to one of the ladies from Texas. She and I are currently doing a BOM together. She is the best quilting friend!
I quilt with a group of 5 other ladies – we’ve been together for years. We meet 2 or 3 evenings a month and do at least one 1-day retreat in the fall and a full weekend retreat in the late spring. We do a great lunch and quilt shop visit in early January to celebrate Christmas (we’re all straight out during December, so this way we can relax!). They are great women and very supportive both with quilting matters and with life stuff!
Funny this question comes up today! I’m on my way to meet up with 5 friends for a sewing day! We choose a pattern and all do it their way. It’s great fun with special friends.

Since moving to this area from Cedarburg five years ago. I am a happy loner, I tried the local groups, not so much. Keep creating so we can be creating.
I’m fortunate to live in Grand Rapids,MI in the summer and Port Charlotte, FL in the winter and belong to quilting groups in both places! Quilters are such nice people and I’ve met a lot of them in our travels ❤️
I love small groups as that is where I have learned so much. But I am most productive when I am home alone.

I’ve actually been thinking of getting a group started here in my community in Estero, Florida. I quilt and love to work with wool. Love the sewing machine window display!
I have a couple of sewing groups. One meets quarterly for a 3-day weekend (days only, home at night) and there are about 25 in the group with 15-20 showing up at a time. I don’t think I’ve missed once — love this group! I have another group that I retreat with. I sew with them twice a year for a 4-day weekend. There’s another group that I TRY to sew with twice a year but if I’m already committed to another group, I go there. It’s a one-day (9am – 9pm) sewing day with about 40 of us. Although I absolutely love sewing with friends, I’m content sewing all by myself in my sewing space at home too but there’s nothing better than sewing with friends!
We have a group that meets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Mondays (if there is one) at our local quilt shop in Athens, AL.
I wish I had a sewing group. I live in Apple Valley, Minnesota and there are a lot of quilters/stitchers in the Twin Cities area but I am retired and don’t care to meet in the evening so finding a day group has been on my list of things to do. I am still unpacking from moving and in the spring will get with the program. (Lots of retired people here go to Florida and Arizona – among other places – for the winter so pickings are slim for sewing groups.)
Also, looking at knee replacement surgery after the new year and being a loner after that is ok with me. I have had knee replacement before and recovery is not pleasant.

Shout outs to my friendship group..we named ourselves Daily Grinders because we all work or worked and so we keep expectations to a minimum to just stitch for fun!
I belong to 2 quilting groups. One group UFO meets once a month at a church for friendship and stitching. Sometimes we take the whole day and go on a road trip, My other group is UCL (Under Cover Ladies). We meet once a month at each others homes and serve breakfast and then have show and tell of the things we made that month. I am very fortunate to belong to these groups and have quilting friends.
I’ve been stitching with a group of gals since I retired in 1992. We meet in each other’s homes on Tuesday from 10 a to 3 p. The hostess provides lunch. Today it is broccoli cheese soup, corn muffins and peppermint ice cream with brownie bites. The chocolate sauce is optional!
I am happy to stitch by myself without a clock to watch in my basement sewing room at home until my husband calls me up for supper! I also started going to a local church once a month with some former guild members for socializing, lunch and keeping in touch with good friends!
I belong to a group of 18 quilters and needlewomen. We have been together since 2000 and are so named because of navigational misadventures with shop hops (pre GPS). We retreat twice a year and meet monthly or so at each other’s homes, as well as the occasional pop-up trip. There are 11 nurses in the group. We started the group by making lap quilts for children in radiation therapy with cancer. We’ve seen family deaths, cancer, and other illnesses as well as the highs in our lives–births of grandchildren, weddings, retirement. We often joke that we should buy a huge house, pool our stash, and patterns. We also need an adjoining house for our husbands who fish, hunt, honey-do and cook. We are the support group for each other and couldn’t do without the group. we are very fortunate.

I belong to two small stitching groups that meet once a month. Much gets done between stitching and conversation…they have all become my dearest friends over the years (one group we have been meeting for nearly 30 years!!!)
I’m in a group of eight that go on yearly summer retreat and have a wonderful time. We really accomplish a lot during that week of fun! We also meet together with a larger group once a month. I have a very special cousin that is my quilting sister. I love all the time spent with her, sharing ideas, fabric, wool, and going on some great day adventures! Your pictures from Vegas were so fun to see…. the decorations look amazing!
I guess I’m a loner stitcher. As a snow bird I’m in AZ part time and WI part time. I did have a quilt group for many years and still get their newsletters. Once I relocated I never did get into a new group. Maybe it’s something I need to work on!
Today, my small (3 people) quilting group will be meeting at my house for our Christmas party. At one time, we had 10 in the group. We will be playing games with prizes we all furnish. Then, a lunch that we all help provide.
We have been meeting for almost 16 years. They help to motivate but I am pretty much a self starter .
I continue to belong to a guild but miss most of the meetings due to family commitments. And I have not been able to attend my small group gatherings for the same reason. Sounds so pitiful…and I do miss my quilting companions. But I choose to enjoy quiet quilting times and blogs like this. It is enough for now.
Our original group has been meeting monthly for 18 years. We celebrate Christmas with high tea at a members’ home. Also, a mini group of six developed over time and we have the best time sewing together all day, every other week.

I belong to two small groups. The days we meet are always a day to look forward to. We also go on retreat together twice a year. It’s wonderful to always have sewing friends that are there for motivation,advice, or sewing help, but most of all we all have that common interest of our passion of quilting!

I belong to two sewing groups through my guild in Coeur d’Alen, Idaho. One is a 1930’s group and the other is an applique and hand quilting group. We winter in Mesa, AZ and we have a quilting group in our park that we mainly work on charity quilts. I can’t encourage people enough to join a quilt guild or group. It is so much fun and motivational and you make lifetime friends.
I loved all the pictures! Especially the window front with all the sewing machines and the Christmas displays at the Bellagio.

I belong to a BOM group at my local quilt shop. Meet once a month and have a great time. Motivation to get the quilt done and sometimes talk more than sew. One day I want to come to your stitching group in California.
I don’t have a sewing group but I have 4 friends who like the same things I do and we sew on our projects at home, encouraging each other to finish the projects. Blogs and Instagram have served as a virtual sewing groups as well. It helps when you live rurally and everything is so far away! That’s why I love your blog.

I started a stitching group at the quilt shop where I work. We’ve been meeting at the shop once a month for about 7 years. This group of 12 ladies are so kind and caring. I look forward to seeing them.
The group I sew/quilt with is called Sew Creative Bee It is a group from the bigger quilting guild we all belong to. We meet every other week and just had our Christmas Part which was so much fun with gifts fitting into any stockings! What a blast along with great food.
I recently moved back to my hometown of Oshkosh, WI after living in Brookfield, WI for 9 years. I work full time during the week and watch a grandson some weekends, but am looking forward to reconnecting with a sewing group in the area as time permits.

I meet monthly with a small group of quilters. We have been meeting since 2001. Sometimes we do “projects “, help each other with our own projects, but mostly enjoy each other’s company and support one another!
All my friends started a Quilting group. We have dinner and Sew once a month. Sometime it’s just dinner and talking which is fun too. I love your wool and needle flannel. Thanks for the idea to try to use it instead of wool. Willing to try anything once.
I have a group of sewing friends who get together a couple times a year and then my sisters and I try to sew together every couple of months. Las Vegas was beautiful, looks like you had fun.
Georgetown, TX – near Austin. I belong to a small group, Stitchin’ Sisters, as well as two guilds. The small groups are where it’s at for developing close friendships. BTW, I am amazed at all the vintage sewing machines in the window.

I belong to 2 sewing groups that meet weekly. One has been going for about 20 years. Our group name is Dear Janes. I don’t think any of us have actually completed a Dear Jane top. The other group has met for about 10 years and is called Chat & Soooo… you can see from the name that”Chat” trumps sewing in this group. Good friends in both groups, for sure! Moving every two years with the military made it hard to make/leave friends over and over. Now that we’ve left the military and settled here in Colorado earlier this year, I joined the quilt guild. The very first time I went, a sweet lady invited me to a “UFO” small group…that was the best thing…they are such a good fit for me and were so welcoming right from the start. I am so thankful for all of them!

I belong to a couple of bees. One has been meeting for more than 25 years! With an original member or two and many nearly originals still in attendance. Also go to clubs and gatherings at the local quilt shop to keep me motivated.
Love your Vegas pics. I think I was on that vacation! The sewing machines, Bellagio atrium, and Gordon’s burgers! My favorite time of year is to go between Thanksgiving and Christmas to go casino hopping and check out the decorations. Hope you got to see the Venetian’s holiday spread. Glad you had great time. (And yes, 3 days at a time is usually plenty for Vegas 😊).
I am a member of a friendship sewing group that has been meeting weekly for over 36 years. Over the years we have had as many as 17 members, and as few as 7. I am also a member of a small wool sewing group which meets monthly.
I belong to the local quilt guild, & also a quilting group at church. Both groups are very active in making projects for local charities.
I guess I am a happy loner. I go to a number of retreats throughout the year where I meet up with friends, but in my neighborhood I am the only one who stitches.
I am a loner quilter/stitcher. Am one of those active seniors who love to work out in the pool or gym again on my own. Also take long walks with our dog … alone or with my hubbie.
I’m part of a large quilt guild and several “satellites.” We stitch, share, talk and laugh together. The laughter is the best, shared amongst women.

I’m a happy loner, my daughter and I get together for special quilt retreats for the two of us. I enjoy those the most.
I get together with my sisters occasionally for “retreats”, but no set days or times and very occasionally with another friend. Would love to be in a group that met regularly. I get a lot more done when I am with people then when left alone to myself where I tend to think I should be doing housework instead of being creative.
Of course, your precuts and all your materials are to die for! Thank you for sharing your trip with us. The foods and sights were spectacular, but I especially appreciated your Stitched store with the wall of older sewing machines. How splendid!
I belong to a couple of small groups, both off shoots from our larger local guild. Each group has a different vibe and we work on different kinds of projects.I love them both as it keeps my horizons looking in different directions. I am lucky in that I have a cousin, a sister-in-law and my cousin’s 2 close friends who are all quilters. Unfortunately, we don’t live close enough to get together to sew often, but we do attend a retreat together 3 times a year so that is great fun. So it is normally just me with my audio books which is perfect!

I am a member of several stitching groups, a group her works on cross stitch meets here at my house on Wed one a month. I have a quilting group at our local quilt group that meet monthly to work on quilts for our battered women. And then 1 more group at church that work on items for our cancer center. I am in Midland, Georgia
I used to have a sewing group at my church. We would meet once a month on a Sunday afternoon. I really enjoyed it as did everyone else but it seems things changed and we disbanded. That was about two years ago. I think it’s time to maybe start another one! Thanks for sharing your pictures of Vegas. Though I have been there many times I have not been to a lot of the new hotels and I enjoyed your pictures!
I am a member of a large guild and also a small bee that meets regularly and enjoys traveling together. We met at a beginning quilting class in 1986 and continue our wonderful friendship!
I love the windows with the sewing machines! I belong to 2 Quilt Guilds. We have some awesome guest speakers and classes (like yourself) that inspire us. I have a sister-in-law who challenges and inspires me and friends I can meet for Quilt Shows or Sew Days. I have gone to PA on a bus trip with my Quilty friends where I have met new friends and learned new things over the years.(Lancaster) I have found that with quilting that it is awe inspiring and a great way to relieve stress. I will have to live forever to complete all the quilt patterns and use all the material I have. But there is always room for more that just follows me home
My local quilt shop has a UFO (unfinished objects) once a month. When I have time I like to join. Always a good time with lots of laughter and ideals.
One of the groups I stitch with met today, the third Tuesday of the month. I think it’s my favorite group since we meet about a half mile from my house. We bring treats, share ideas and solve world issues, of course. Today’s major discussion dealt with deterring squirrels overrunning our bird feeders–lol! We are located in Breezy Point MN and welcome newbies!
Cincinnati, Ohio. I am wheelchair bound so groups are a challenge for me. I am involved with a group from my church that makes charity quilts and I make what I can for that. I am also involved in the online group, Tech Know Quilters, which is a class that teaches about Electric Quilt. I love that! I also have a dear friend in another city who I communicate with frequently about our quilting journey…..in our young life we coauthored counted cross books. We have a long history of sewing fun! I am a very social person by nature so this wheelchair issue is cramping my style! …it hasn’t stopped me from piecing yet though!

Haven’t found local wooly stitchers, but get together several times a year with friends from afar who stitch wool. Funny how even from a distance we enable each other. We have even done our own BOM.
I do participate in stitching groups. I am a member of two quilt guilds, but my favorite group gets together for mini retreats several times a year. We have one coming up Jan 4 – 6th. 🙂

Hi Lisa, I have been in many quilting groups throughout my quilting life! Loved them all! Now I have moved across the country without knowing a soul except my boyfriend! How happy am I to have a new job where at least 5 of us are quilters…. from newbies to experienced!!! Quilting brings people together and now I have a wonderful group of friends who love quilting and especially WOOL like I do! I’m from Bozeman, MT
I’m now a lone sewer/quilter. I did belong to a group at a senior center & enjoyed the fellowship but came back from vacation to fine rules had changed. My quilt guild is a good distance away & I always enjoy the guest speakers & the show & tell but actually seeing is done at home with just the hubby asking questions & making comments.

I belong to my local quilt guild in Racine, WI and to several other smaller groups. We mostly meet once a month. I look forward to seeing the members and seeing what everyone is working on.
I belong to a couple of guilds, so see friends there. We get together and stitch when we can. We need to sart back once a week get togethers. I stitch/sew almost everyday. We have a group text we talk many times a day. So its like we are sewing together at times.

I live in a small town in Western NC about 45 minutes from Asheville. I’m very content to stitch alone, but lately I’ve been looking up groups to get out and make some new crafty friends.
Yes I have a quilt group, there are 4 of us, we meet every Wed night. We call ourselves the Hexi Chix. One of the members is a modern quilter & the rest of us traditional. I’m the only member that does wool too. We’ve been meeting for about 4 years & I love them all. We order pizza each week & we have a gift swap each Christmas , and since PM is my favorite, I often get a GC or last year I got a large project bag, that you signed for me !

I do not have anyone to stitch with…I live in Southern California, La Habra / Whittier area, and work in the Inglewood / LAX area.
I belonged to a group that was a cross between a bee and a guild for over ten years. Now I belong to a large quilt guild (St. Charles, IL) which provides wonderful inspiration but I’m thinking I need to snag a few of my friends who are part of the guild too and start a monthly handwork get together. I do that for my cardmaking, but hadn’t thought to do that for handwork. Excited about trying to get this going in the new year.
I’ve been in a mini group for over 20 years, meeting twice a month with the best group of ladies!!! I’ve been a member of a large group, but the best group of women are in my mini group ! We support charities, support and chair committees for the quilt guild and quilt show, getting advice from each other (sometimes more advice than you ask for) and laugh and cry together. Thank you to my friends!
I do not belong to a group. I do not even know anyone locally that sews or stitches besides my mother who does alterations. I do belong to Facebook online group with a lady from Australia that does hand embroidery. It is a source of friendship and joy to me. We discuss and show our current projects and we share recipes and pray for each other. I am in South Carolina USA
I belong to a small group that gets together once a month, we can get very creative, but have been kinda slacking lately😕. We will be going to a retreat in March, that I look forward to every year!
I belong to two quilt groups. One was born out of our local quilt guild and is a casual group. We talk, have show and tell, eat goodies and sometimes work on our individual projects when we’re not distracted with everything else! We meet once a month in a different home each month. It’s been going for many years.
My second group was originally formed as a small group via our church and was called the “Praying Quilters,” because we pray together for each other’s needs, then talk, eat, etc. At first we met every week in our leader’s home, then switched to twice a month when it got to be too much for her. Now we have changed it to once a month, switching homes each month, talking, eating, etc., and still praying for each other, though we no longer are an “official” small group sponsored by our church.
I am happiest on my own, or seeing with one or both of my sisters. I joined a guild, over 300 people, very nice and welcoming but still, not for me. Then I reduced the size, a guild of about 100. Too many. It’s like high school, cliques at tables, no room in the inn, rather an unfriendly bunch, try to break in… no can do.
So now I belong to a once a month “club” limited to 40 women, not everyone shows up so more like 30, its more of a sharing group, someone demos a technique and then we show and tell. Simple but collegial.
Other than that, I think I like being on my own. Of course, I have you and a few other bloggers in my back pocket, so there’s enough company to keep me happily Stitching.
