Day 1…Needful Things…Juki Sewing Machine & acessories

Lisa Bongean 12 Days of Needful Things and Giveaways! This year is extra special…I can offer two different Juki’s…Really the same machine…but read what the 2020 Limited Editon Platinum has to offer …Both machines are offered at an exceptional price…

With a large work area of up to 23 inches (with auxiliary table attached), the TL-2020PE can handle quilts, hard to feed materials, and home decor project with ease.

This is my machine that just arrived…the feet come in 2 nice boxes and there are more than the normal ones…

Now the rest of this post describes why I stitch on a Juki… This post is the same as it has been for the last couple of years….but by far the most IMPORTANT Needful Thing there is…without this machine I would not be half the Quilter I am today…read why…

Every year so far people ask…Will you please do the Juki again this year?…. so here it is AGAIN!… popular demand…AND you could win yours free!!!

Now I know we pretty much all have a sewing machine…or two or three or even more…But I just have to talk about the sewing machine I use 99% of the time…It is my #1 Needful thing…Most of you probably have never heard of Juki…so let me just say they are not new to the market…Juki is well known in the garment industry and are mostly industrial machines. I think I have had a Juki for about 10 years now…I also own 2 Berninas, 1060 and 1530, and a couple of featherweights…one black and one white. I confess this to you so you also know what I am comparing to and you all know I teach all across the country and have stitched on many machines.

I bought the Juki with the intention to use it as a second machine to have set up for machine quilting my little quilts, and also so I didn’t have to change the walking foot from my regular foot on my Bernina…that would have been nice, right?…Juki has entered the quilt world with a semi-industrial machine for quilters. Here are a few of the features that the Juki machines have…all-metal…no plastic bobbins, no plastic feet, comes with all sorts of feet including 2 free motion feet and a walking foot, a larger 9″ opening between the body and the arm, so machine quilting would be easier to handle. It has a nice extension table, this is nice for retreats, I have it embedded in my table usually. The machine ONLY stitches straight. Now, this might be an issue for some, but I was only going to use this for machine quilting…The fact that it only stitches straight is actually a plus…nice tension all the time, single hole throat plate. It holds large cones as well as regular thread…It has an automatic thread cutter, automatic needle threader, knee lift, and stitches 1500 stitches per minute or something like that, in other words, it is FAST. It comes with a walking foot and other feet for doing free motion quilting…I use the regular foot and stitch up against a bumper to get a scant quarter inch… Here are all the particulars from the manufacturer:

The Juki TL-2010Q is a high-performance sewing and quilting machine. The TL-2010Q is a single needle, lock-stitch, portable machine, constructed of aluminum die-casting to ensure industrial-quality sewing.

With advanced features, such as an industrial sub-tension system, variable speed control slider, and bright white LED lighting, this machine is built for precision sewing. With a large work area of up to 23 inches (with auxiliary table attached), the TL-2000Qi can handle large quilt, sewing or home decor project with ease.

Advanced Thread TrimmingJuki_TL-2010Q_FootControllerjuki_tl-2010q_footcontroller
The New TL-2010Q allows you to trim top and bobbin threads using the Exclusive foot controlled trimming system.

Just rock your heel back on the foot control, and the thread is quickly and precisely cut.

Automatic Thread Trimmer Juki_TL-2010Q_ThreadTrimmerjuki_tl-2010q_threadtrimmer
The machine is also equipped with an automatic thread button that simultaneously trims the needle and bobbin threads at the sewing end by lightly pressing the push-button.

Both the Trim Button and the Foot Controller engage the advanced Juki industrial style thread trimming mechanism.

No More Twists or QuiversJuki_TL-2010Q_SubTensionUnitjuki_tl-2010q_subtensionunit
The Sub Tension Unit ensures thread feeding to the needle is smooth, even, and twist free, no matter how thick your thread is.

It also keeps the thread from quivering when sewing at high speeds and provides accurate fine tuned thread tension.

Thread Tension ScaleJuki_TL-2010Q_ThreadTensionjuki_tl-2010q_threadtension
The machine also has the thread tension scale, which allows you to adjust the tension according to the thread and material to be used.
Maximum Speed ControlJuki_TL-2010Q_SpeedControl
The new speed control lever gives you complete control over sewing speed.

Set the speed from 200 to 1500 stitches per minute, or any speed in between for free motion, and precision sewing.juki_tl-2010q_speedcontrol

Materials are sewn with Ease
The microcomputer-controlled, speed control mechanism, allows the machine to sew materials at low speeds. This provides for accurate feed and perfect stitching when sewing heavy weight fabric, quilting, and multiple layers of materials.

PresseJuki_TL-2010Q_PressureFootr Foot Pressure Adjustmentjuki_tl-2010q_pressurefoot
Presser foot pressure can be adjusted according to the fabric being sewn by turning a regulator located on the top of the machine.

Needle Up/Down ControlJuki_TL-2010Q_StopPositionjuki_tl-2010q_stoppositionWhen you stop sewing, the machine will stop with the needle in the down position to allow for pivoting or more accurate free motion work.

To move the needle up or down as desired, simply press the needle up/down button.

Truly Illuminatingjuki_tl-2010q_ledlightThe new, bright-white LJuki_TL-2010Q_LEDLightED lighting, provides an illuminated view of the sewing area and allows for more precise sewing.

Automatic Needle ThreaderJuki_TL-

The push lever automatic needle threader easily threads the needle without eyestrain and allows you to start sewing quickly.

Easy Bobbin ReplacementJuki_TL-2010Q_BobbinReplacement

A new bobbin case latch and an enlarged bobbin case area make it easier to remove and replace the bobbin.

Nothing Free Motion Quilts Better Than  Juki quilting feetquiltingfeet
Juki’s rich tradition in quilting continues with the TL-2010Q.

The feed dog can be raised and lowered simply by depressing a switch. When quilting, the drop feed allows you to sew curved stitches with precision and ease.

Juki 1/4 Inch and 1/5 Inch Quilting Feet
The quilting feet are designed for free motion quilting and free-hand embroidery. Just lower the feed dogs and stitch away.

Juki Even Feed Foot Juki_TL-2010Q_FeedFootjuki_tl-2010q_feedfoot
With its reliable feed, the even feed foot ensures the machine’s ability to produce beautiful seams when sewing difficult-to-feed fabrics such as georgette and velvets, as well as heavyweight materials such as leather.

juki_tl-2010q_kneelifterKnee Lifter Lever Juki_TL-2010Q_KneeLifter
The knee lifter level allows you to lift/lower the presser foot without using your hands. The presser foot can be raised as high as 12mm.

After stitching on this machine and using it. I did not want to stitch on anything else. It “pieces” beautifully…I didn’t have to hang on to my threads at the start, the feed dogs are nice and close together and fed my little pieces in nicely. Having the single hole meant my piecing wasn’t sucked down into that oblong hole… and again…I could stitch, cut my thread with my foot(or there is a button, but I like my hands free to hold on to my patches) knee lift my presser foot and be on to the next thing…I especially love piecing triangle paper on the Juki for all the reasons I just stated…Now I know being fast really should not be an issue, right? We want to be accurate! But let me tell you, if I am stitching strips, borders or you name it…fast is handy…I tried going back to my “regular” machine to piece on…it was almost painful!!! Just shoot me…I loan this machine at The Gathering, but it comes with a warning…if you stitch with it you WILL be going home with it! I think only one person didn’t buy one after she stitched on it for a weekend…lol…They also have updated the Juki recently…I have a TL98Q (old model at home) and the new modelTL2010 Q1 I have in the studio, they have updated to an LED light…they have added a Turtle and a Hare button, if you want to control how fast it can go…and they changed the foot pedal, a bit…I love both of them and even though they are slightly different I can stitch on both on them with no problem even though they have slightly different foot pedals and controls.

So if you are ever in the market for a machine, please check out the Juki’s and you can read all the technical words I should have used to explain it. I sell only the Juki 2010Q1 at my store in WI…I could sell other machines but remember what I said, I only sell what I use…therefore I sell the Juki’s. I am placing the Juki 2010Qi on sale now until the end of the year at a special of $999-(yes…not a typo) which includes shipping too. This is a great deal. We will order more for this same price as long as you order before the end of the year. JUKI In 2017 they will go back to $1100.00  still a great price when you think about what you all get with this machine! Please allow a few weeks for delivery….  Your card will be charged as soon as you place your order with out new compliant cc processing. If you are the winner we will be crediting your card back.

So for those of you who have a JUKI already andy maybe missed this last year when JUKI finally made a SCANT 1/4″ foot. Here is my article about it…

I have to admit…I was skeptical…but…I was happily surprised…I stitched a mini quilt..and it was amazing…I tried to derail it by trying to run over a dog ear…no wouldn’t do it!!! I first put my foot on and it was perfectly lined up with my usual tape bumper…so off came the tape…I happily stitched this whole mini and was very pleased!  The only thing…you have the put the other regular foot on when doing triangle paper…I managed to do TP with it on, but it was very difficult to see…and I will not do it again… we have them on sale for $45.OO.images-phpimg_9120

This year we also have added a FRONT OPEN TOE FOOT– This is for machine quilting…we all love this foot because there is no obstruction of view while quilting…much nicer…

We also have a bunch of Accessories for our machine these are a must!

Bobbins- set of 10- I can never have enough bobbins- we sell them in sets of 10.

Oh Sew Clean Brush Set- comes in three colors…nice tools for cleaning your machine!!!

I love how Kimberly from the Fat Quarter Shop made cleaning your machine a “pretty” thing…These come in three colors…aqua, red and grey…It’s grey for me!  Oh heck I will do all three…I  may have three sewing machines!

Bobbin Saver- I love this rubber holder for my bobbins…I had to buy more bobbins to fill it up…why is this bobbin saver is so awesome?   My bobbins are snuggled nice and tight in there….I love how many it holds…I think I also need more than one of these too!

Oil Spout-Juki’s need lots of oil…this handy spout works magically!

These are under the same post as the machines…so they are easily orderable.

Last year we sold over 50 machines… If we make it over 50 this year…one of you who purchases will get theirs FREE too!!! Those odds are pretty good!!!  UPDATE:…I decided to gift a machine no matter how many we sell this year…we have had a wonderful turnout for our last couple of events!

I will be posting the winner for the machine on New Year’s Day, but all the other winner will be tomorrow of Christmas Day!!!  Good Luck everyone…you still have time to leave a comment on all the other days!

Click Here to order a Juki or accessories!

If you are the proud owner of a Juki…please leave a comment and let everyone here know about it!!!  So I don’t look like a just a salesman…I do not have time to be a sewing machine store…but I know the importance of having a great machine…and one you do not have to sell your soul for, so I only advertise them once or twice a year….

  1. I do almost all my sewing on a Juki, I have had mine for about 15 years and love it. The stitch is great, I never have to mess with the tension. It is a real work horse and I love it. Merry Christmas Lisa, Nick and the PG crew. Thanks for everything you do for us.

  2. I bought the Limited Edition from the earlier offering. I’m looking forward to receiving it and getting to use it!!!!

    1. I purchased the Limited 2020 platinum Edition from the October sale. I’m anxiously waiting for my delivery. A wonderful Christmas present for Andy quilter.

  3. Merry Christmas to you and Nick and your PG staff. May 2021 bring you health and happiness.

  6. Thank you for making 202 as best as you could. Merry Christmas and may 2021 be good to us all.

  7. I have been a hardcore Bernina user for over 25 years, but your message struck a chord with me. I actually read and then we back and reread your blog today about the Juki Sewing Machine. I clicked on the link to purchase. I am seriously considering purchasing a Juki. Thank you for pushing me to think about something new outside of my old ways! Happy New Year

  8. I bought a Juki from Lisa a few years ago at Christmas. I thought about if for a long time. I have a Bernina 1230 and 440QE, a Consew industrial and a serger. I was having serious issues justifying this purchase but I wanted the speed without the huge industrial consew feel! I LOVE LOVE my Juki…. it works great! It sees great! All the time…’s fast, easy to run and I wish I had used one years ago. I will always love Berninas but don’t take away my Juki. We went to Quiltstock and used new machines there….I almost went nutz ~~~I wish I had taken my JUKI!!! Next time I WILL!!! Thanks for selling these Lisa. Merry Christmas.

  9. Thank you so much for all you do for us. As many have said before, I don’t know how I would have gotten through this pandemic without you and your staff.
    Merry Christmas and Happy Quilting!!

  10. Juki, the best purchase I ever made. Never thought anything could top my 30 year old Bernina but I was wrong. Pieces like a dream!!!

  11. I have a Juki that I bought from your Needful Things several years ago. I agree that it is an amazing machine and a workhorse. Thank you for offering it, along with all your other Needful items every year. Merry Christmas to all of you!

  12. I bought a Juki on the sale 3 years ago & love, love, love it! After 30 years of quilting – between starching fabric and my Juki – my piecing is better than it ever was! Merry Christmas & hope to shop soon after the new year.

  13. Merry Christmas Lisa, Nick and your wonderful crew there at Primitive Gatherings!!! You all have especially made these past 10 months actually enjoyable, with your lives, blogs, social media posts, wool boxes, BOM, SBOM, sales, and your wonderful beautiful stores online! All of your creativity and positivity has most definitely been a light for me and I know for many of us!!!! Every time I see an announcement of a Live, or a post, I get excited and plan my day accordingly, so that I can sit down with my cup of coffee ( and credit card 😆) and watch and shop!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO FOR OUR FUN COMMUNITY OF STITCHERS,QUILTERS AND HOOKERS!!! Love you all!!!!❤️🎄🙏🧵🪡

  14. Merry Christmas, Lisa, Nick and staff! That Juki machine would make piecing a piece of cake, but unfortunately no extra funds for a large purchase this year. Maybe 2021 will be the year!

  15. I quilted with a Juki for a number of years and cannot say enough about them. The only reason I now sew with a different machine is that I make large bed quilts as well as small quilts and I needed an even larger throat space for quilting, but I still highly recommend Juki.

  16. Thank you so much for all you do for us quilters. Merry Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you, your family & your staff.

  17. Darn, I was thinking of buying myself a new Bernina for Christmas and now I’m wondering if Juki is the way to go. I’ve had my Bernina for 25 years so it’s time for an upgrade. I love all the positive comments. So, of course, now I’m torn. Thoughts??

  18. I was extremely happy with your twelve days of Christmas this year….awesome! I bought the TL2010 a few months ago and of course wishing now I could have waited. I love 💘 it.
I have bought quite a few needful things throughout the 12 days, so Thank you Lisa Bongean. I think you are a rock star!
Am anxiously waiting for your photos of family Christmas with Lisa & Nick.
    God Bless all.

  19. Yes, I own the Jiki2010 TL and absolutely love it for all the same reasons. I bought for the straight stitching & quilting. I mean after all, when piecing all you need is a straight stitch! It’s a work hirse!

  20. Wow, this Juki looks like a very powerful machine! Am thinking about getting a new machine but just not ready quite yet! Thanks for all you do, I so enjoy all your videos, they help to brighten my day as well as help to learn a new stitch! I also enjoy the PGWoolbox, can’t wait for each and every one!! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family!!! Hopefully “2021” will be a much better year for everyone!!!

  21. OMG, the chance to have a Juki machine would be incredible! I’ve always wanted one, maybe I’ll win!

  22. Thank you Lisa and the whole crew of primitive gatherings! I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a healthy New Year!
You are beautiful people! I’ve enjoyed all of your videos, both instructional, informative !

  23. Merry Christmas to Lisa, Nick and the PG Army! I first saw the Juki when Country Threads was open in Garner IA (Lisa your ears might have been burning in October, I was visiting Mary and Connie and we were talking about your fabulous things!) They used it for small quilts that didn’t need to go on the long arm so until I saw that you use it for piecing it never occurred to me that was a possibility (insert girl emoji hitting her head). I thought it was a sit down small long arm. WOW would I like this machine in my future. However my post is to echo everyone’s we can’t thank you enough for your hard work, inspiration, sharing of your home, tips and tricks, it really goes on and on. I can’t wait until we can all visit again. If you think the website was overloaded, wait until we all showing up in the parking lot : ) Enjoy your family and time off, well deserved!

  24. I purchased this machine from Lisa 3 years ago. I LOVE IT! it does piece and quilt beautifully. I can not recommend it more highly. It is worth every penny of this great deal!

  25. Lisa, Nick, family and staff at PG, my wish for all is a wonderful, blessed, Christmas and a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year! I have been eyeing up Juki sewing machines at PA quilt shows (before COVID 🙁 )and would LOVE to win one. xxoo

  26. I need a new machine and can’t afford it so I would love to win the Juki machine. Thanks for giveaway. Merry Christmas

  27. 🎄MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE 🎄🎄 Thank you for all you and your elves do for the sewing world Lisa & Nick!!! Can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store for Primitive Gatherings!!! Love your 12 days of Christmas especially the Juki sewing machine❤️❤️❤️❤️ MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL❤️❤️❤️

  28. I bought this Juki last year and loved it so much, I sold my travel janome 360 and my top of line Janome sewing only machine (no embroidery). It goes over seams that the top of line Janome wouldn’t.

  29. Wow, that bobbin holder looks great and the seam ripper is so pretty in it. I have owned my Juki for about 10+ years now and just love it. it is a no nonsense machine. I mainly use it for my quilt rack where the machine sits on a carriage. It always stitches up very nice with no troubles at all.

  30. Hoping you have a FUN and restful holiday season. Love the new Juki color, it matches my stand mixer. 🙂

  31. Merry Christmas to all of you. Those working pulling orders as fast as you can. Thank you Primitive Gatherings for everything you do for us through out the year. How wonderful that you will be able to give away a Juki this year. Looking forward to the sew a long at the first of the year.

  32. I’ve learned sew much from reading your 12 day posts! I’ve been hemming and hawing over what sewing machine to buy when I am able to upgrade and this definitely confirms it for me😍 thanks for all the tips and info❤️ Looking forward to becoming an actual quilter in 2021!

  33. Lisa is not pulling your leg here… ive had my juki for about 5 years now. Like most people, i have a spare for backup. I used my old machine for 13 years and thought it was great, until i got this one! Now, when i have it setvices annually, i totally miss it. Its fast, accurate & dependable. You wont be sorry

  34. Thanks you for these wonderful days of Christmas. Merry Christmas and wishing you a happy, healthy, and profitable 2021. Love y’all at PG!!!

  35. It looks like a great machine, every year I think maybe next year I could buy one. Unfortunately this hasn’t been the year for a new machine, again. Thanks Lisa and everyone at Primitive Gatherings for a exciting 12 Days of Christmas. Thanks for opening up a few Wool Box spots, for us to get in. I hope you all have a wonderful happy healthy and safe Christmas and New Year…

  36. Testimony: I have a Bernina 1260 at my sister’s house, teaching her to quilt. (Not now, we’re distancing). I have a Bernina 630 with embroidery module, use occasionally. I have a featherweight, use every so often. I have a Juki, purchased during the Christmas event in 2015 or 2016, I use it EVERY DAY! It is set up in my studio, I rarely cover it because it’s gathering no dust. Keep her oiled, she will hum for you every day. That and an occasional needle change, and you will get your money’s worth in perfect stitching for years to come.

  37. Merry Christmas Lisa, Nick and all the PG staff!
I’ve had my Juki for about two years now and I just LOVE it!!

  38. I own MANY machines, but after taking a class with Lisa I brought a Juki from her several years ago. I love it! I’m a fast sewer and it lets me fly! Two of my friends in my small sewing group have also purchased one. I always use this machine unless I need a fancy stitch. Thanks Lisa for letting me know about it.

  39. I just did it! I ordered my 1st ever, brand new sewing machine! You had the perfect sales pitch, Lisa! Good for you! I’m happy to support you and your wonderful staff! Merry, Merry Christmas to YOU!!

  40. I am very excited just ordered the juki PE have been looking to replace or add to my very basic old janome your endorsement made me take that much needed step I had been contemplating. Love all your fabrics patterns and
most importantly your shared skills and enthusiasm you put out there for us novices thanks😊

  41. Juki is a great machine! I’ve had my 2010 some years now, it just never fails, a perfect straight stitch. This year it has made over 1000 masks in addition to the fun stuff. It makes my nice Bernina feel like a slug. You will never regret this machine.

  42. Looks like an amazing machine! Merry Christmas and thank you for your posts all week. Looking forward to a New Year!

  43. Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you and your family and also to your staff. Hopes for a better 2021.

This Juki machine sounds amazing. I wish I had one. Better start saving.

  44. I have to agree with the above comments about the Juki. I’ve had mine for 6 years and it’s almost the only machine I use! The Bernina is used when I need a zig zag type stitch. I still use the old Singers but it is such a pleasure to use the Juki. I do all my own quilting on large quilts and that is the main reason I bought this machine but it has become my go-to. Quilting is so much easier on a fast machine. Merry Christmas Lisa and everyone at PG!

  45. Merry Christmas Lisa! Wow what a wonderful thing to do – giving away a Juki sewing machine. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas. Happy stitching.

  46. I am very intrigued by your comments on the Juki. Especially interesting is the scant quarter inch foot. Can’t count the number of times my piecing has been off and thus impacts the end result. Having tried all the tips, this may be the answer!!!

  47. Thank for a great year of sewing inspiration, Lisa and PG crew. I enjoy every moment sewing a PG pattern and the fabric you design. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

  48. I have been sewing on a Bernina 1090 since 1994 and love my old Bernina…until I bought a Juki from Lisa about 5 years ago. I purchased the Juki to take to retreats but have to say this is my go to machine. For all the reasons Lisa said why she loves and uses this machine, I have to agree. It stitches beautifully, it’s a workhorse, almost like a featherweight in terms of oil it and it runs great. You won’t be sorry if you gift yourself one for Christmas, I know I’m not. Now, merry Christmas to everyone on the blog, to Nick and Lisa and the staff and crew at PG.

  49. Thank you, Lisa for all you do to inspire me to sew. I enjoy all the patterns and fabric I’ve purchased from Primitive Gatherings. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and all your crew.

  50. My 27 year old Pfaff is on it’s last leg and I’ve wanted to replace it with a Juki for years now. From everything I’ve read here I won’t be disappointed in one. Merry Christmas to all!

  51. We appreciate you and your staff. You are such an inspiration to all quilters. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

  52. I’m so excited that this year I can buy the Juki! I’ve always wanted one but I kept questioning whether I needed one or not. This year 2020 hasn’t been all that great but the purchase I made today for a Juki Special Edition makes up for all of it. Thanks so much for offering these great machines as well as all the other items for the 12 Days of Christmas. You’ve made my Christmas!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!

  53. Owning a Juki would be wonderful! I’ve been watching these for several years now and dreaming. Maybe next year Thank you for all you and your staff do. And here’s wishing you all a blessed Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. So looking forward to getting my Christmas box!

  54. I have really enjoyed the “needful things” because I’ve been trying to do UFO’s this year, so I haven’t seen all the new needful things in the quilt shops….need to get all my quilts sewn up…I LOVE your fabric and have for a long, long time…Hope you, your family, and staff have a Merry Christmas and stay away from that Covid…

  55. Lisa and staff, wishing you all the very best in 2021! While 2020 certainly had its challenges, you have certainly been a bright spot during the lockdown days in my sewing room. Thanks for all you do, and I hope each of you has a happy Christmas, despite these challenging times. I know Jess certainly had her wish come true earlier this year! I’m looking forward to my new Juki, thank you for the wonderful deal!! 🎄🎁❤️

  56. I’ve read your messages about Jukis every year & wished I could buy one. After renting for several years we had a house built 2 yrs ago. Having a sewing room where I could close the door & not have it be a walk-thru was my dream. I measured & measured my previous space & thought I had it figured well. My husband kept asking me if I was sure it was big enough….i should have listened to his suggestions! I really could have used a few extra feet instead of thinking about having a large enough family room ( which we rarely use & have adult children out of state), then I would have had room enough for the Juki plus my 2 Berninas. I keep trying to figure out how I could make it work because it really is a bargain….& to have that scant foot, what a treasure!
Oh well, we might have to knock out a wall to expand my room!

  57. Sadly I do not own this machine😿but have a friend that does and loves it. Wishing you and your staff a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

  58. Well, I don’t own a Judi but I’ll comment anyway. I almost wish that I needed a new machine so I could order one. Straight stitching only works for me.

  59. I’ve had my Juki for 2 years, absolutely love it. Platinum would have been nice, just not an option this year. But that new foot looks interesting for piecing.

  60. I purchased my Juki from Primitive Gatherings during 12 days of Christmas years ago and never regretted it. My other machine, a Bernina, is rarely used. My tip for threading the Juki. . . Watch YouTube videos on how to thread the machine. Also the manual I received was so small and hard to read. Download the manual from the Juki website.
P.S. Thank you Lisa for the wonderful Holiday wool box. It arrived this morning at 7:30 am today !!! 🎁🎄🎉🧸🎄 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !!!

  61. I don’t own a Juki but it sounds absolutely amazing! Straight stitch is about all I use on my machine now-really need to try one soon!

  62. Using my Juki for piecing has really elevated my piecing skills! I can handle Lisa’s Modablockheads blocks now!

  63. 5 years ago I was blessed when my husband bought me my JUKI machine. He knew a day doesn’t go by without me having a needle in my hand or sew on my machine. I LOVE my JUKI!!!! Sewing on it is so much fun no matter if it’s 3 a.m. or 3 p.m. It’s a MUST have if you quilt!

  64. Thanks for all the info and your experience using the Juki. Convinced me that I need one – after income tax day in 2021. Have a wonderful New Year!

  65. Just picked up my Juki. Opened the box and peeked inside. Not a very good time to get a gift you are to busy to use. Can I spend Christmas Day sewing with my new machine? Of course I can. No one coming over. Covid took care of that. Sew maybe tomorrow it will be introduced into the sewing room, a spot for it. Tonight for sure, after hubby is tucked in fast asleep, I am going to read through the book.
Also tomorrow I get to open my Holiday box.
Good thing I’m busy or I would have no surprises Christmas Day.
    Love, love, love it!❤️
Merry Christmas to all and to all a blessed 2021!

  66. One thing I’ve learned from Lisa is that her recommendations for products pan out. Being a frugal quilter, fabric is and always has been my favorite thing to buy. But, one needs tools in order to use the fabric. Twilight Garden swept me off my feet. Had to make it. Each tool Lisa recommended (Valdani, itty bitty stem ruler, 20 x 20 wool mat, tweezers) I bought and experienced improved performance. I’m sure the Juki us NO exception. What a great price. Lisa, you have made the pandemic year bearable with FB live and YouTube videos. I CANNOT WAIT FOR SIT AND SEW with Lisa AND PG RETREATS!

  67. I have been saving to buy a Juki for a while. Just about have enough saved. The platinum machine is sure a pretty one. Thank you for all you share with us. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  68. A couple of years ago I read your blog post extolling the virtues of owning a Juki so I did a little research… No, that’s wrong. I did A LOT of research, didn’t find any negatives except the straight stitch (and what’s wrong with that?) so a couple of months later when visiting friends in Tucson, where a quilt show just happened to be in full swing, I bought a Juki TL80 QVP (aka Haruka) and love, love, love it. My poor little Bernina doesn’t get used as much, just for embroidery stitches. Thank you so much for introducing me to Jukis. I don’t think I will ever want another machine. And thank you for alerting me to their new scant 1/4″ foot. I will be ordering one today from you!

  69. Merry Christmas to you, your family, & your work family!
Thank you again ever so much for all you give of yourself to the quilting world.

  70. Much to my surprise and awe–I won a Juki in 2016!! I was a die hard Bernina fan. It’s still a great machine-but only gets used when finishing seams is needed. My Juki is so wonderful! I love it for all my piecing. I discovered when reading Lisa’s article today that I think I took my guide off of my 1/4′ foot and use it for everything. Probable need to put it back on when piecing. I did hundreds of 1/2 sq triangles-guess that was why. The guide is nice. Boy does it sew FAST!! I just smile when I go down those lines on the triangle papers!! I set up a table that my husband made for the grandkids to do homework on when they were in middle school. It’s slightly shorter and works great for the machine and extension to sit on. my husband then built a longer-narrower table to sit sideways along the machine table to give me some room for my containers where I put all my sorted pieces. I am doing a pineapple quilt “along” and it works great. It also gives me extra room for putting on borders. Hate it when they aren’t supported. Then it just goes along a wall when not needed- out of the way. i can’t tell you how much I love my Juki !! I even have 2 more Bernina’s in the closet and it’s my choice!! One has a wide throat plate and is a disaster for piecing-great for embroidery. Did I say I love my JUKI? Thank you Lisa for the great surprise of winning it–I smile every time I see where you signed it at a class in Houston!! Have a blessed Christmas!

  71. I ordered the PE on your birthday and can’t wait to start sewing! I bought my first Juki in Japan and agree there’s nothing better for accurate piecing!!! Thanks for only offering outstanding products – your experience and strong recommendations gives us ‘sew’ much confidence and makes PG my one-stop shop for all things quilting! You and your team are the best!!

  72. The foot controler with the thread cutting feature sounds like a nightmare. Hard on the leg muscles? I would probably be accidentally cutting threads when I didn’t want to. Otherwise, I have been interested in Juki for a long time. Until they came out with that foot control feature.

  73. Going to think long & hard about ordering one of these. Merry Christmas to all of you, have fun with those grandsons!

  74. The Juki 2010 has a wonderful straight stitch and I love the big throat. A great machine. Thanks for all you do for us Lisa, it is greatly appreciated.

  75. I bought my Juki from you a few years ago and I love it so much! It’s one of the things that I’d grab on my way out the door if there were ever a house fire – THAT’S how much I love it!! I’d encourage everyone to get one, if they can – it was a game changer for me. Thank you Lisa and the entire Primitive Gatherings crew!! You all make my sewing and quilting so much more enjoyable. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe Christmas!!!

  76. I did it! I did it!
Every year Lisa has offered this I ponder and wish . This is the time for me .
Thank you Lisa for all you and your family and staff do
    Merry Christmas

  77. I was intrigued by your Juki article. I have owned Janome, White, Singer, Kenmore and have gone through all of those and ran them into the ground. I have never sewn on a Juki but I may have to try one sometime.

  78. Once a Bernina snob always a Bernina snob well except for Juki lol.

Every year except last you have always sang the praises of Juki while still loving your Bernina.

I finally got a chance to sew on/try out a Juki and well…I realized everything that you have ever said Lisa was spot on and you were right about the incredible ability the Juki has especially to enhance skill especially with time management.

A Juki will eventually be on my sewing table.

Thank you to you, your family, staff and new build team!!

Many blessings for a safe, wonderful and merry Christmas!!!

  79. Oh my Your description of the Juki machine is amazing. It address many of the issues I have with my current machine that I use mainly for piecing, but am starting to do some clothing. I have ordered a few of your items from the last 12 days list. Have enjoyed reading your post. With everything happening right now, I can not justify buying another machine. I am trying to get over my “gotta have it right now” attitude. Thank You so much for the wonderful and educational posts.

  80. That sounds like an incredible machine! I would like to try one out. Happy Holidays to all, love shopping with you!

  81. The Juki sounds like a great machine. A local quilt shop used to sell them and that’s
Where I first heard if them.

  82. Maybe I should put the Juki on my wish list. I don’t win things often, but maybe I will win a Juki!!

  83. Merry Christmas! Pick me pick me😎. When I worked at a quilt shop I always turned to the Juki for fast clean quilts. My Sears Kenmore is over 40 and it would be great to win this awesome machine to take its place. I have a Bernina 880 embroidery, but I haven’t been able to get back to it, and even when I do I’m sure I’ll have to get the book out and maybe take a lesson! The Juki is just set up and go! And it’s soooo pretty!!

  84. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the Primitive Gatherings Team. I purchased my Juki several years ago based on your recommendation/use. It is a wonderful machine. It sews through anything – layers of denim, sewing on patches, etc. However, mine is used the majority of the time for piecing. It is an easy to use workhorse.

  85. Wishing Merry Christmas to Lisa, Nick, Jessica & the staff of Primitive Gathering! Thank you so much!!

  86. Merry Christmas to everyone that is on this page. Thank you Lisa for everything you do for all of us stitchers. I am most appreciative to all the free advice and demos you do. I had taken a class from you at Hershey years ago. Memory isn’t what it used to be and is so nice I can pull up a video of you doing a certain stitch or completing a mat to remember how it was done.
I don’t have a Juki although very tempting. I have several Pfaffs which I love to death. Bought a Janome and would love to sell it. Hardly every used but just isn’t the right fit for me. If I could sell it the a Juki oils be my purchase.
I have developed a huge love for wool appliqué thanks in part to you

Again thanks for everything you do for all of us.

  87. As much as I wanted the special edition machine, I already have a Juki QVP 2200. Not exactly the same machine as Lisa’s but very similar. it took some getting used to the straight-only stitching, but I have other machines that do other than straight stitching which I hardly ever do anyway. I love the way that it stitches – always good. I had to slow it down a bit because I’m not a speed demon like Lisa 🙂 Merry Christmas to you and yours, Lisa along with the fabulous staff at PG! Thank you all for all that you do!

  88. Merry Christmas to Lisa and Nick and all of the fabulous Primitive Gatherings family. Love the Juki and hope I can get it soon.

  89. Merry Christmas to you and Nick! I’ve so enjoyed all that u have done this year to help us learn new things and to show all your products. I would love to win a machine or purchase one.

  90. I have always wanted a Juki! I have an old Brother right now. A new machine would be a blessing.

  91. I absolutely love my Juki TL-2200!!! It is my first quilting machine and absolutely the right choice for me. I also have the very large sew steady table to turn the machine for free motion quilting. Very easy to manage a good size quilt on it. The only wish is for a longer cord for the foot pedal when I rotate the machine for free motion.

  92. I purchased this machine in 2018. It is everything Lisa says it is. I love sewing all the little pieces on it.
It does need to be oiled but it will tell you when it is thirsty. It gets noisy. Few drops and you are going again.

  93. I’m sooooooooo super excited! I just ordered a Juki! Thank you for this wonderful offer, for the offerings of the Needful Things, and for always having the most awesome fabrics and patterns! Thank you for all of your hard work, Lisa, and also for all of the freebies throughout the year. Nick and the staff are THE BEST! You are all very appreciated. Merry Christmas to all! Blessings and Peace for your family!

  94. The Juki sounds like a great machine, will put it on my wish list for next year! Merry Christmas to everyone at Primitive Gatherings.

  95. I am so excited! I am about to become a Juki owner!. A plastic part on my current machine broke, and I have been whining about wanting a Juki to replace it. So glad you have given me a great opportunity to purchase the machine of my dreams. The features you detailed sound wonderful, and I trust you wouldn’t mention them if they weren’t . So excited to be getting a new machine. Thank you for the great offer, Lisa.

  96. I have never sewn on a Juki I have a Wal-mart singer simple which is what i can afford. but at some point in life I would like to get a nice machine and I have heard alot about the Juki and it has been one of the ones I have been looking at. Merry Christmas to everyone and I hope your next year is bright.

    1. I did it!!! I just order the Special Limited Collector’s Edition TL-2020 PE! I have been wanting and watching the juki machine during the 12 days of needful thing for the last 3 years. I am blessed and grateful to be able to purchase this machine. Thank to Lisa, Nick and the PG crew. Merry Christmas!

  97. I have been resisting the temptation the last few years to purchase the Juki machine you offer during the 12 days of Christmas, RESIST NO MORE-tell a quilter there is a limited supply of these and Bam they are gone! I can’t wait to get this and try it out! Thanks for offering this again. I always look forward to the 12 days of Christmas. Thanks for all the hard work you and your staff do. You amaze me over how much you get done and offer to all of us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. He’s to a better 2021!

  98. Merry Christmas to all!!! The Juki sounds like an amazing machine.
    P. S. Santa… I’ve been good …wearing my mask all year.

  99. Merry Christmas to all of the staff. I’ve become acquainted to the staff of the long-arm quilters this fall …they have done several of my quilts…why would I do them myself anymore? I love all the services that Primitive Gatherings offers from the staff, the store, the special fabrics and supplies, the retreat house which I’ve been lucky to use several times and now the quilting service. I have two Bernina’s now that are in almost constant use, but each year I am tempted with the Juki…soon, perhaps soon! 😊

  100. I purchased my Juki from PG this past summer and I’m really enjoying it! Today is my day to add some accessories. Thank you for all that you do for this Quilting community!

  101. I own a Juki F600 (as well as 2 Berninas) and love the Juki. I did some research before buying it and found they have been around for a long time and used for industrial sewing. I don’t regret my purchase and found the Juki brand to be high quality in the guts of the machine as well as the stitch and tension.

  102. Lisa and all the PG family, I have enjoyed the videos and posts during this strange quarantine year. I am currently sewing on a very entry, inexpensive machine. I would love to try the Juki.

  103. I have owned a Juki 2010 for about ten years now and absolutely LOVE the machine. I use it for all my machine quilting and home decor projects. For piecing I still use my Bernina 640. But, after I purchase the two new feet (open toed quilting foot and the new 1/4 inch foot, that may change!).

  104. I’m so so excited because I just ordered my Juki! I’ve been wanting one of these for years! And my wonderful husband is the one who told me to use the money we had saved for vacation and use it for the sewing machine, since we were unable to go anywhere on vacation. (He is an essential worker and just can’t get away for any type of vacation until the pandemic is clearly under control.) Thank you Lisa for all the things you do for us! Merry Christmas to you and Nick, your family, and your PG family, and may you all be truly blessed in the New Year!

  105. I can hardly stand it – I just ordered the Juki! Now to count the days until it comes! My husband was the one that encouraged me to get it – aren’t these guys great!
Thank you Lisa and Primitive Gatherings for all you do – you have been a godsend for me to get through this pandemic. May you have a very blessed Christmas and looking forward to a better 2021!

  106. I have been waiting until today to buy my Juki… my husband was worried I wouldn’t have anything under the tree, but I assured him I was thrilled to be getting a Juki!

  107. Thank for a wonderful 12 days of Christmas once again! Wishing you, nick and the entire PG family a Merry Christmas!

  108. You are the reason there’s a Juki under the tree right now ! Thanks for all you do. Looking forward to visiting Wisconsin. Merry Christmas.

  109. THANK YOU Lisa and the Primitive Gatherings family!!! You have inspired me to pick up fabric, needle and thread after more than 17 years. I have gathered a few Needful things and ordered a Juki !!! Thanks so much for the inspiration to get me back to quilting. Thank you for everything you do for the quilting and stitching community. My thoughts are with you this week. Blessings and Peace to your family.

  110. Merry Christmas and thank you for all you do. You are a true inspiration. I’m thinking of purchasing a Juke sit down quilting machine. Waiting till I can go try out the machine, I’m so missing quilt shows. I have to drive about a 100 miles to see one and for obvious reasons that’s not happening right now. Between your earlier offerings and these needful things I’m stocked up. Thanks

  111. I have loved my Juki. I recently sat down and sewed on my friends big, expensive, computerized machine. All of the plastic just felt cheap, and fragile. My Juki is sturdy, reliable, and consistent. Another friend has a fancy machine, but had done a fabric collage with lots of layers. Her machine could not handle it. She came and stitched it all down with my Juki, no problem. My machine cost at least 5 times less than her machine. I agree with Lisa, you won’t regret a Juki.

  112. Are you kidding me? You are doing a giveaway on this beauty??? You are so generous already with your offerings, this is just too much! Merry Christmas to you and the entire gang at Primitive Gatherings ❤️

  113. I am now the proud owner of a Juki….the new platinum edition…came today…and I am so excited to get started using this wonderful machine…I feel it will be sewing long after I’m gone as I have 2 granddaughters who I want to teach to sew!! Sharon

  114. I do own a Juki, and I love it!! It was very affordable! Easy to adjust tension, stitch and quilt with. I Highly Recommend one. Merry Christmas Lisa, Family, & Friends! Thank you for bringing JOY to my life. Big Hugs, Jakey

  115. This machine would be a dream come true, if only Santa could come through!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Lisa, staff and families!

  116. I love my Juki, TL 2010Q, and thought I could never replace my Bernina’s, but since I got my Juki, I haven’t touched my Bernini! I love that it cuts my threads, and stitches perfectly. I hardly ever have to trim any of my blocks up. I am totally shocked by the precision of this machine. Yes, you still would need another machine if you want to do a blanket stitch or other fancy stitches, but that need doesn’t arise very often for me. Best anniversary gift ever! Merry Christmas to all…

  117. LOVE LOVE LOVE my JUKI❤️❤️❤️
I was a VERY LUCKY winner from Lisa a few years ago!!!! I couldn’t believe it!!!!
I had been wanting one for over 2 years when my husband told me just to order it during the 12 days of Christmas.
It is true what Lisa says about this workhorse of a machine!!! So if any of you are thinking about ordering one…..DO IT!!! You will never regret it!!

  118. To Lisa and all the Primitive Gatherings team: thank you for the light you bring in to my life! Merry Christmas!

  119. I bought my juki a few years ago during the 12 days of Christmas. I absolutely love it. Stitches like a dream. I am hoping 2021
will give me more time for stitching. Thank you Lisa and Nick for everything you do. Merry Christmas to all of you.

  120. I do not have a Juki yet, but would love to! Afraid it’s not in the budget for this year, but maybe next. I do hate to pass up such a good deal though! Thank you to Lisa, Nick and staff for all your hard work and letting us share a piece of your world! Merry Christmas!

  121. I have had my Juki 2010 for 5 years and love it!!!! The stitch quality is amazing whether you are piecing or quilting. I sew every day and this machine is ready to work. I have been sewing on a Bernina 1090 since the mid 90’s and still have that machine set up too. I like to have 1 machine set up with a 1/4″ guide and then use the other machine to do paper piecing or piecing hst. Or I have one machine set up to quilt and the other to piece. Either way, the Juki is ready to do anything I want. The harp space can handle a good size quilt and the Juki makes a nice quilting stitch. It goes through thick layers without a problem. Never had a tension issue either. It is easy to clean and keep oiled. I like to piece quilts with lots of pieces in them and I do quilt all my own quilts…..I can highly recommend the Juki 2010.

  122. I just got done reading this and am seriously thinking about purchasing a Juki. I have been wanting a Bernina for a long time but the cost is just hard to justify budget wise. Thank you for this post and the great price on the new Juki. After reading the comments, too, seems like it is a great machine. Thanks for all the great information- was very helpful!

  123. Merry Christmas to you & Nick as well as ALL the hard-workers at your business. Love your blog, love your products, love your tips & tricks for better quilting!

  124. Lisa, I enjoy all your posts and would love to have a Juki!!
Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas!!

  125. Judi is as best a machine there is. Mine doesn’t get the high volume of use that Lisa’s does but it is always waiting with open arms each time I sit down to sew. Virtually maintenance free – just a spot of oil each time I sew. The knee lift and foot cutter are a great feature and I miss the. When 8 sew on any other machine. This is a great investment and a must have tool for any quilter.

  126. Happy Christmas Lisa. Thank you for your awesome shop in Murrieta and amazing staff. I live a little over an hour away but try and get up there a few times a year.
I had never seen it before but I loved your review on the Juki. I don’t have one but I know they are awesome machines. I sew on a 1956 Morse Zig-Zag.

  127. Hi Lisa: A couple of years ago I bought one of the Day 1 Juki machines. What needles do you use to piece with and what needles do you use to machine quilt. I have trouble understanding the packaging. Can you identify them in your needle description that these are the ones you use for the JUKI to piece and or machine quilt with.

  128. Merry Christmas everyone!

I have a question about this Juki. I have just started making bags. I have a Bernina 780 and found that it had trouble getting through all the layers of fabric, soft n stable any pockets inside, when putting binding around the outside edges. I was surprised as I’ve always thought Bernina’s were powerful (maybe past ones?) Up until now I had only pieced and done embroidery on my machine.

Would the Juki be powerful to stitch through all those layers with no issues? The issue I had with the Bernina was skipped stitches, even using the height adjuster sticks, a 100/16 jeans needle and sewing slowly.

    Thank you!

  129. I too have a Bernina and the Zuki sounds awesome for piecing! All the reviews sound awesome, would be lovely to be able to order one. Thanks for the giveaway chance! Merry Christmas!

  130. I would love a Juki machine. My basement flooded and I am currently having to remodel it. I do not have room for a long arm so this could be my best bet. Merry Christmas to all

  131. I’m super excited cause I just ordered the Juki Platinum Special Edition machine. I always here everyone raving about Juki and how they have been converted forever after buying/using one. Can’t wait! Merry Christmas!!

  132. Would love to get a Juki. I know they are work horses! Thank you for all the info and will think about this hard…Merry Christmas!!

  133. Merry Christmas!!
Thank you for opportunity and all the useful information. Wish it was in the budget as this sounds like the machine to get!

  134. Ordered one of these the other week and waiting for it to come in! Liked the features (speed control was important) on this machine and it was the only one in its class with the speed control! Waiting a bit impatiently for it to ship and the fact you have one in house is very encouraging. Thank you for the indepth review on it!

  135. Well….. after reading this post last night and thinking more about what you said about the Juki, I decided to purchase the 2020 PE. My 35 year old Pfaff (one of the first computerized machines offered in the 80’s) can no longer be repaired. I knew this day was coming, so I’ve had my eye on a Bernina for quite a few years now, but I just couldn’t justify the price tag of the Berninas and the longer I’ve waited, knowing my machine was not going to last forever, the higher the price tags have gone up…. Hubby read your post also and then encouraged me to just get it! I’m very excited to get quilting again and am looking forward to receiving the new machine!!! Thank you! I’ve been ordering from you for a long time and have enjoyed the patterns and blog and books and kits and your tutorials. Thank you so much for all you do! I’ve learned so much from you. I wish I lived close so I could come visit your shop in person. It’s my favorite place to shop online.

  136. Lisa,
    Thank you!!!
I’ve been thinking about getting a new machine, I did know which one to get, I love the bobbin holder.
I like the metal bobbins better than the plastic ones.

  137. Every time I read your description of the Juki I tell myself I sure do need one of these. Maybe in 2021 I will get one. The idea of all metal is very intriguing as plastic parts just don’t have same quality.

  138. What is the difference between the 2020 as opposed to the juki straight stitch models? I’ve read that the 2010 is the oldest, with the Juki TL18QVp being the updated, newer model. Is the 2020 a silver encased version of 2010 or of the newer straight stitch models?

Can you break down the difference between the 2010, Haruka 18qvp, the 2200 qvp and this new 2020?

  139. My son recently graduated from an Outdoor Product Design and Development program. He works with Juki machines daily and loves them so much that he just purchased one for construction of outdoor goods (backpacks). My husband has machinist training and also says that Juki is a trusted, high-quality brand. I’m seriously considering one in the future for my quilting. Happy Holidays to you and yours!

  140. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years! Thank you for all the great patterns and ideas that you come up with! The machine looks wonderful! Love the bobbin holder!! Thank you for the wonderful post! My Christmas present to me!

  141. My mom shared your facebook group with me. You do such creative things! She also showed me this machine. I’ve worn down my poor Viking by using it like a workhorse. This machine looks like a dream!

  142. I was lucky enough to receive a Juki for Christmas last year from my husband. I thought a Juki was over priced but he insisted that if I was going to sew heavy duty things like quilts that I needed a good machine. I had been sewing 30+ years on multiple Singers. After a year of making so many masks that I could do them with my eyes closed, multiple baby quilts (backed with Minky) I feel the Juki is worth every penny. I don’t have the industrial one but a HZL which does some decorative stitches and buttonholes because I do more than just quilting….still a great machine!! I couldn’t figure out what made it so different but I think it’s how accurately it sews….fabric doesn’t slip, it goes through layers for quilting without struggling and all the features mentioned make it very user friendly. It just takes away the unnecessary frustration that a sewing machine can cause. Very thankful for the one I have. Feel like I can now try some of those one inch blocks…😳 …maybe.
Love your blog and tips Lisa. Thank you.

  143. Loved your blog about the Juki and appreciated reading all the comments. Just opened my email about Needful Things and started reading. My husband encouraged and convinced me to order one. So, I ordered the Juki Platinum. Looking forward to receiving it and sewing on it.

  144. What a great way to start the New Year. I just purchased my first JUKI!!!!! After many years of Lisa’s high recommendation and Juki’s owners raving reviews of the Juki, I knew it was time to get rid of my old machine and in with a new one. Thank you Lisa and your team for everything you do for all of us, especially this year. For me, you have made it so easy to stay home because I have kept so busy working on your beautiful designs. Happy New Year everyone.

  145. I’ve tried and tried to resist the platinum JUKI. Today, the last day I have caved. I’m fond of saying give me 5 minutes and I can justify anything. I already own 2 JUKI TL 2010Qs. One in Florida one in Indiana. I purchased both from Primitive Gatherings. Lisa does so much for her followers she totally deserves my business. So my justification: I have 2 grand daughters who sew and being Seniors in college next year they’ll need my 2 non-platinum JUKIs someday soon! My DH has given me the green light. He knows how much I love my JUKI. Trouble free sewing is indeed heaven!

  146. Hello! Just saw your blog on your “new” Juki TL 2020 and wondered now that you’ve been using it for about 8 months have you had any tension problems and what type of thread do you use to piece and quilt? I just got my Juki about two weeks ago and have had lots of tension problems: bird nests on the backs when quilting, very loose tension on backs, etc…. I adjusted both the top and bobbin tension, changed needles, changed thread and so on..(lol) and just can’t seem to get it right. Please help and please let me know if Juki only likes certain threads😀. I love quilting and have never owned a Juki before (I have 20 year old Pfaff Grand Quilter but wanted more throat space). Thank you for your help! Nancy
