Official Call out for Flag Blocks!

Oh hey, I’m back! As I mentioned earlier I have another great idea to add to our efforts in helping Hogs for Heroes. As of today, I am officially on what I’m calling a “secret mission!” My goal is to produce and collect as many Flag Blocks as possible, which will then be used collectively to create a future project that will generate even more happiness for Hogs for Heroes. Obviously, I can’t do this alone so I’m asking you for your help!

If you would like to participate by making and donating blocks to this mystery mission, please send your finished piece(s) to us no later than June 15th, 2022. We’re super excited to get started on this, so if you can get your blocks to us earlier (June 1st, 2022 would be ideal) that would be even better! All of us here at Primitive Gatherings will be helping to combine your creativity together into their final form. I can’t wait to see it all come together to make something great!

Ready to get started? You can find a printable PDF of the instructions and pattern for the Hogs for Heroes flag blocks by clicking the link below!

Once you’re ready to submit your donated pieces, please package and send your blocks to:

Everyone here at Primitive Gatherings would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of the support and donations that you have provided over the past year for this cause. It is truly awe inspiring!  We hope to be able to continue doing things like this in the future for many great causes! Thanks again for keeping up with my blog and other social media outlets. Please remember to leave a comment for a chance to win a prize! Are you planning to participate in the H4H auction? What’s your favorite item up for grabs??? How many Flag Blocks are on your agenda? Let me know! And don’t forget, bidding on my first two quilts is officially OPEN! Don’t miss out, hit the link below to place your bid – Good luck and see you soon! ~Lisa

I live on a lake in beautiful Butte Des Morts, WI. I have three sons: Lance (forever 29), Luke 33, Jake 32, and two grand-babies, Little Man and O-Bug. I've been married to the love of my life Nick, since 1998 when we started our crazy adventure together! I am a quilter, rugger, and gardener. I also love to cook when I get the chance. Thanks for visiting and supporting Primitive Gathering Quilt Shop where I try to bring you the best Moda fabrics and wool projects anywhere!

  1. Gosh this is fun! I hope you raise buckets of money for such an honorable cause! I was all puddles after watching the video of each of those veterans and their bikes. And to see that several were from an area of Wisconsin that I have lived. Small world we live in. Quilt block coming your way.

  2. Count me in for flag blocks. I sew for QOV so it’ll be easy to make some along with the quilt blocks. Thank you for supporting our veterans.

  3. Yes! I just printed the pattern & plan to work on it tomorrow! I am also planning on bidding! I’d love to win one of the t shirts or a basket of goodies from your shop! The wooden flag wall plaques are pretty awesome too! Thank you for doing this! ❤️❤️

  4. What a great cause to provide this tool for our brave men and women who served to keep us safe! I am ready to sew a block for your project, but I am wondering whether there is a correction for the flying geese units, or maybe my poor old brain is just confused. it looks to me that the geese will have blue points instead of white ones. Please clarify. Thanks. BTW, I can’t wait to use your new line to make some blue and white beauties!

    1. Hello! Nice catch. The cutting is correct, however it seems we have our photo backwards. Thanks for letting me know! Have a great weekend. ~Lisa

  5. I’m excited to participate in your project! Looking forward to seeing how you will use all of our blocks!

  6. I’m excited to make the block! Thank you for all you do to support the great men and women in our military!

  7. Very excited to make some blocks for whatever you’re cooking up. Last summer’s QAL was the best one I’ve ever participated in; I learned so much from your videos. More importantly, I’m grateful for the opportunity to help you continue supporting Hogs for Heroes.
