Can you believe it? After what feels like an eternity of waiting, the “Meet Me in the Garden“ Stitch-Along is finally ready to begin! This is a summer stitch-along that will feature a custom quilt project designed by my good friend, Val Krueger. Val based this intricate pattern on my new Garden Gatherings line, which after much anticipation arrived here earlier this month. Check out this beauty of a design. I can’t tell you how gorgeous it is in person – absolutely stunning!
Planning to join us for “Meet Me in the Garden?” This post will take you through all the fabric and tools that you will need to participate in this stitch-along. This is the beginning of a six month long project, so having everything you need prior to starting is a great idea. It’s never a good thing to get half way through a quilt project, only to realize you’re out of something you can’t get anymore. We’re talking serious bummer there…so let’s try to avoid that by setting up for success! Fabric requirements for “Meet Me in the Garden“ are as follows:

This is going to be a gorgeous quilt, and I’m glad it’s spaced out over time. I am not one of those people who has to post my finished blocks at 12:01 am of day one. I like to thoroughly enjoy the process and the learning. And, maybe I have to catch up on Oh Say Can You Sew. And Revel. And the wool project from your class in Ohio!

Anyone hesitant to invest in rulers, each of these rulers is a stand-alone, there is so much you can do with each one of them! They are fun to use and your blocks will be so very accurate. And with Lisa using them to design future projects, well, that’s a win! Additionally, Val will be demonstrating how to use them, a great opportunity for new learning.

So excited to begin ! I’m making this quilt to honor the wonderful memories I made with my Grandfather. He owned property which he turned into a huge garden…vegetables, fruits, flowers, apple trees and more. When I was young, he’d pick me up in his old pick up truck to work in the garden using tool many handmade by him. I learned so much ! Just me and Grandpa ! I’m 69 yrs now and cherish these memories every day ! ❤️

Hi Karen! I would say that skill-wise, this quilt would be good for an ambitious beginner and up. I say ambitious because it’s not so much the skill that it takes, but more the time and six-month commitment it takes.
I do a lot of QALs, but I’ve never been so excited as I am for this one! Also, I second Carol Eberhardt’s point about the rulers; I actually already have every one of the called-for rulers, and I use them often!
