Happy Holidays!

Hey! Nice to see you back here. Clearly, you survived at least the first round of holiday festivities this last weekend. Not that I doubted you, but we all know how stressful, crazy, (am I allowed to say annoying at times?), and out of control the holidays can be, especially when you have a whole lot of related people crammed in what is probably not enough space. In my case, however, things were just perfect this Christmas. I didn’t go anywhere or make a big fuss out of much. I simply focused on being home and spending quality time with the people I love the most. We ate, we drank, we baked, and of course, exchanged gifts. I could not have asked for a time better well spent.

I certainly hope that your Christmas holiday was just as joyful as mine. Unfortunately, time off never seems to last long enough. I’ll be back to work tomorrow for at least most of the week, but will certainly revert to party mode by Friday. Bring on the new year! I’m ready, are you? I have a ton of new ideas for 2023 and I’m chomping at the bit to get started. Do you have any big project goals in mind for the new year? How about small project goals? Let me know in the comments what your aspirations for this new quilting year are. I’d love to hear your ideas – I might even find some inspiration, you never know!

Speaking of new projects, have you had a chance to stock up on everything and anything you might need for any creative adventures you plan to start? Don’t forget that today is your last chance to get 25% OFF store/site-wide (new items are not included and have been removed from the website until after the sale is over). It’s a great time to stock up on your favorite Primitive Gatherings fabrics, threads, needles, patterns, kits, notions, and more! Click the button below to shop til your heart’s content!

As I mentioned above, there are several items we were not able to include in the sale because they are so new, so if you can’t find something on the website you know was just there last week, that’s most likely the reason why (for example, sewing machines and subscription boxes are also not included in the sale). Don’t forget – even though the retail shop is not open today due to the holiday, you can still shop! The sale includes both in-store and online merchandise.

I’d also like to take a second to remind everyone that the shop will also be closed on New Year’s day Sunday 1/1/23, Monday 1/2/23, and Tuesday 1/3/23 (we are open during our regular winter business hours on New Year’s Eve – Saturday 12/31/22). Here are our current holiday hours:….annnnd since we’re on the topic of store hours, please also keep in mind that our winter hours are now in effect and will be until April, 2023. They are as follows:For whatever reason, it seems that we can post these hours on all our social media outlets so many times it’s to the point of feeling obnoxious, yet somehow we always manage to miss someone. That being said, please remember to either call ahead or check the facebook pages for modified hours due to holidays, weather, etc. If you are planning a visit, we’d love to have you! But please make sure we are open before you make a long trip to see us. I can tell you the parking lot is extra big, and extra lonely when you’re the only one in it!

Ok everyone – enough working for today. The sun is shining and the birds are even singing. We’re sitting at a balmy 17º right now and it feels like we’re havin’ a heat wave after enduring sub-zero temps for the last several days. Our “real feel” temps were in the negative 40’s for a bit there, so now all of a sudden it feels like shorts weather. One of the perks of a cold snap like that I guess. You won’t hear me complaining about anything under 15º until maybe… next fall. Enjoy the rest of your day and I will see you all soon. Happy shopping…and stitching! ~Lisa

After you gave a sneak peek of a tiny portion of a project for the Wool box next year, I just had to sign up! Not that I really need any more projects. I just couldn’t resist. I’m also hoping to get a bunch of UFOs than next year … Will see how well that goal goes, I get so easily distracted by new projects

Love the holidays as well, but this Christmas was good to see everyone that we have not seen in a while. 2023 is going to be exciting for me as I now have a few kits from PG to start working on quilts for the cabin. Even though I SHOULD have enough, I am sure I will find new ones when the new stuff comes out. Love all the kits you keep making. Happy 2023 everyone!!!!

Clean and rearrange my sewing room will start in 2023. Right now for the rest of 2022 working projects, lot of prepping to have items ready for evening sewing. I’ll be traveling a lot in 2023, so I plan to have projects ready to take with me.

Thank you for your fun post. Some travel, food and family for us as well. Yes Holidays are fun and crazy but the mind does start to think of all the wonderful sewing in 2023. I did make a list I call “Top of Mind” and limited the list to 10 items. It is amazing how this simple tasks helps me focus on what is, could be, should be next. Several PG projects in there! Yippee!!

Happy Holidays. Our. Christmas with family was amazing. Our family of 8 from Wisconsin and Michigan spent a fun and wonderful 4 days together. We only ventured out to attend a beautiful Christmas Eve service at church to celebrate the reason for this blessed holiday. Christmas day was a fun day. We of course opened gifts and then had a fun holiday Olympic competition involving candy canes, Hershey kisses, marshmallows, and cotton balls. What fun, competition was intense. Of course there was delicious food through out the whole time. Great memories were created.

Thanks for the sale reminder. I have a question: Will the red and white challenge quilts be shown on line? I’m from out of state and submitted a quilt and hope to see the collection of quilts. Thanks again for everything this shop does to stimulate ideas, educate young and old, and offer fantastic products and services. Happy New Year!

I am going to finish, or rather begin, a quilt of Valor for my cousin’s husband. He was in Vietnam and has problems due to agent Orange. Can not wait to get ome of your red and white when it comes to the stores! Was o here in Ohio with wind chill of -27 over the weekend, so Church was the only place I went on Saturday evening.

My plan for the new year is to get my sewing room cleaned up so I can actually sew. Need to have some furniture removed to make room for small sewing table and new Juki machine. Also want to work and finish several BOMs.

My sister and I are recreating a quilt my grandmother made. She made 5, one for each of her sons. I have my moms twin brother’s quilt and believe me it’s been used. Out of the 5 boys we can only locate 2 of her quilts. I can’t wait to see this come together my way. A little different choices in fabric

My goal for this year is to finish most of the quilt box projects from 2022, while also keeping up with the 2023 quilt box projects that are coming my way this year. And I have a lot of kits in my stash that I should make. Wish me luck!

It’s cold here in Alpharetta, Ga. Haven’t seen temps in the single digits or teens in a long time. My daughter got a light dusting of snow last night, but to was too dry for it to hit the ground at our house. After school starts back in January, we need a snow day! I had a bunch of projects lined up, but I moved those down the list to make room for ones for my 1st grandbaby due in April. Along with burp cloths, hooded towels, and bibs, he must have an I Spy/ reversible Car Mat quilt. By fall, I also want to recreate the quilt from The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt so that I can hang it over a chair in my classroom as if the ghost is visiting.

Cute little boys!!! I am so excited to have a new table for my Juki. I have a son who is going to convert a table into a sewing table. I have noticed in videos that you have a clear plexiglass insert for your Juki. Where can I purchase a insert for my machine?

2023? The year of the UFO’S. I finished 3 late last year. I Will definitely finish more this year. Now, that is certainly being positive! Please don’t ask how many I have as I keep adding to the pile every time I do a “sewing room binge” cleaning.

My goal for the new year is to finish two projects for every one I start. I want to make ALL the things and am too easily distracted by the excitement of starting a new project. I also want to find a Singer treadle and learn how to use it. I know you are a Bernina dealer, but I found a passion for vintage machines during the pandemic, and I want to learn more about rehabbing and using them. They are just neat. Happy New Year, Lisa and the PG crew!
