New on the Menu

Hey stitchers! With spring right around the corner I’m sure you’re ready to tackle some fresh new projects to prepare your home for the season’s change. If you’re on the hunt for just the right design to play with, you’re in luck! I just so happen to have some new long-awaited pattern releases that I’m super excited to finally be able to share with you. These patterns were previously unavailable to purchase because they’re from our subscription wool box, subscription quilt box, a quilt-along project, past summer block of the week, or a featured retreat project. Now that these events are in the past, the projects are no longer exclusive and I can finally offer them for general sale.

The first project I want to talk about is the quilt I call Revel.” I gave it that name because as you can see, it’s the perfect representation of the definition of the word, which is literally to enjoy oneself in a lively and noisy way – especially with drinking and dancing. LOL! To look at Revel you can’t deny that this quilt is full of energy, and appears quite lively with its bright colors and geometric shapes dancing all around. If you feel like you’ve seen Revel before that’s most likely because it was the featured quilt in our 2022 quilt subscription box. Finished it has 13 blocks total and measures 69″ x 69″ without borders, or 76″ x 76″ with borders. Triangle paper is included with the pattern for Revel,” plus you will get 20% OFF your backing if ordered at the same time as the kit. Click the button above to get a great deal for an even greater quilt!

Are you a fan of my Dragonfly Dreams quilt? This beauty has been coveted by quilters across the board for a long time, and now they can finally have it! If you’ve been following my quilt journey with Dragonfly Dreams you already know that the design for it was based on one of the antiques I have in my personal antique quilt collection.Dragonfly Dreams is especially appealing if you love to hand stitch. It features my favorite – wool appliqué – and minimal, simple piecing. Finished it will be 60″ x 60″. Heads up! If you purchase the  kit for Dragonfly Dreams the pattern is FREE! In other words, the pattern is already included in the kit price. Also, please be aware that Dragonfly Dreams is still a pre-order and will not be available to ship until at least sometime in March. On the fence? Don’t sit there long! Due to limited fabric supply we only have a small quantity of kits for Dragonfly Dreams so if you really want one, don’t wait. Grab it now before they’re gone!

Remember my O’ Say Can You Sew Quilt-Along from last spring and summer? This popular scrap buster was meant to be a clever way to use up all the reds, whites, and blues I had leftover from previous projects. I also intended on it being a fun way to get an awesome patriotic quilt out of simply recycling my scraps. Judging by the stunning work I saw as a result, I’d say this quilt-along was a huge success! Though my initial idea was for O’ Say Can You Sew to be a patriotic quilt, if you go to my STITCH Facebook group you can see several versions done in a variety of color combinations – both controlled and scrappy (not yet a member of my STITCH with Lisa Bongean Facebook group? Come join us! If you are already a facebook member, all you have to do to become a member of the group is click HERE, and then answer ALL admin questions required).

At 83″ x 103″ (or 71″ x 91″ without borders) O’ Say Can You Sew is a pretty good sized quilt. As you can see there are… let’s just say, “quite a few” half-square triangle to make in order to complete this project, but don’t let yourself worry about that. If you use my custom designed half-square triangle paper you’ll get through them with an ease like you never knew possible. Trust me! The time is now to get started on this amazing red, white, and blue masterpiece to have it done in time for the fourth of July. You can get the full pattern and the triangle paper you need to complete O’ Say Can You Sew by clicking the link above!

Seems a bit funny to be thinking about Halloween while we’re watching the snow melt, but hey! You never can have too much of a head start on completing new holiday décor in time for the big day. My quilt Pumpkin Carving Contest was originally from the 2022 summer blocks of the week. As you could probably guess, this pattern was super fun to sketch and design. I mean, just look at all that personality all comin’ at you, all off of one quilt! We have wool kits ready to go for Pumpkin Carving Contest along with the individual pattern and thread kit. Grab whatever you need to get started by clicking the link above! I’ve seen some pretty ingenious versions of this simple yet fun and creative quilt, including one done in all tie-dye! The possibilities are really endless… How will you do yours? Finished size is 62″ x 69″.

Fans of my Garden Gatherings fabric line will love Garden Stars.” While this quilt was designed solely with Garden Gatherings fabrics in mind, you can easily use whatever fabric you fancy. Whether you like a scrappy quilt or more controlled, this eye pleasing project will add a little something extra to wherever you display it. Finished, Garden Starsmeasures 78″ x 78″.

Like it? Great news! Right now for a limited time, if you buy the kit for Garden Stars you’ll receive the pattern for FREE (kits contain Garden Gatherings)! In case you only want the pattern, that’s ok too. This quilt is also very fat quarter friendly for your convenience. Receive an extra 20% OFF your backing when you purchase it at the same time as your kit. Click the link above to add it to your cart.

Did you see anything you like? Tell me in the comments what your favorite new pattern release is. I love to hear your opinions! Let me know which ones you’ve done, which ones you’re currently working on, and which ones just hit your shopping cart. It’s fun to know what everyone is working on. If you’d like to see these projects a bit more in depth and haven’t had a chance to watch my LIVE show from last Thursday, click the HERE to watch the replay. Hey, speaking of STITCH with Lisa Bongean, don’t forget I’ll be back again tomorrow with another hour of shenanigans with my crew LIVE at 1:00 p.m. CST on my YouTube channel. Sending in Pumpkin Carving this week to PG for quilting! Finally going to start Dragonfly Dreams but thinking I may make 2 smaller quilts or perhaps a small quilt and some pillows. Who knows? I’ll have time to decide while stitching all those blocks! It will take quite awhile as I ordered the Home for the Holidays kit and I know I’ll want to jump on that when arrives! Good thing I’m retired now!

Hi Lisa ! Hope you’re well . Since I had to stop being a member of the wool box subscription, I was not able yo get all the patterns, is it or would it be possible to purchase just the kits/patterns that I did not receive after I stopped my subscription. Thanks for all you do for us ! I’m anxiously waiting for the next challenge ! With Best Regards Carol

Anything with Garden Gatherings is really special! It’s a bit off from your previous palettes and I’m enjoying the change. I’m working on cutting Meet Me in the Garden right now, way behind, but I’ll get it done. It used all the rulers I’ve collected in the past few years so yea! Please keep Val’s videos up so slowpokes benefit from her cutting and piecing skills!

I have already ordered the pattern for “O Say Can You Sew!” I started it with my Accuquilt, and kind of wandered away while I waited for a die for all the small HSTs. I saw it on one of your YouTube videos, and was amazed—as we were working on it, I didn’t realize how beautiful the finished quilt is! Anyhoo, I lost the final clue, so I am waiting for my pattern to arrive.

I love the color selection of Garden Stars and how the solid stars really pop with the bold colors. I have been looking at my patterns and thinking how I could possibly incorporate the joyful gatherings line for the next years challenge. I am still on the fence as I am not confident in my piecing but no time like the present to tackle something like this 🙂 As always I enjoy seeing your updates and comments on the FB groups! Thanks Lisa!

I am currently working on Revel. I have the center part assembled and now I am working on the borders. I sure hope it comes together like it is supposed to, because it will be stunning when finished! Thanks, Lisa! Love the quilt box!

I absolutely love Dragonfly Dreams! I’ve ordered the pattern but may change up the coloring just a bit. I’m also almost done with the O Say Can You Sew quilt. Those half square triangles were giving me a hard time a couple months ago so they had to sit in “time out” for awhile, but now they are done and sewed into small 9 patches. Thanks so much for sharing all of your creative ideas. There aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done that I want to do. Oh – and I also am starting your BOM wool box. I’m quite new to wool but have already completed three of your table mats. I swore I’d never do wool applique, but I was forced to give it a try and am now hooked! I’m very excited about all the bright colors, those are right up my alley.
    Have a wonderful day!!

My favorite is Revel – I’m in a holding pattern right now, but love the look of each block, they’re beautiful!! I tried the starching method with this quilt and what a huge difference. Thanks for sharing your starch trick.

Thank you for all the wonderful designs. Revel and Pumpkin Carving tops are finished (went the simpler route on the borders). Blocks are complete for Dragonfly Dreams, working on seam embellishment. Not enough hours in the day to make everything I would like.

I LOVE Revel. I have one block made, and most of the rest cut out. But I really like all the other patterns as well. A friend of mine has made the O’ Say Can You See, and it is just gorgeous. I think the Garden Stars is calling my name!

Pumpkin Carving Contest is just so much fun! I would have to wait until I retire to tackle it.Would love to, though. I checked out O’ Say Can you Sew, also. It would be great to use up red, white and blue scraps and sew all of those triangles using the papers. Love it, too!

They are all beautiful. I do like the Garden Stars, Revel and O Say Can You Sew. I’m working on Revel and O Say Can You Sew. I moved recently so I’m a bit behind but they will get done. And just like you mentioned on yesterday’s you tube Video (which I absolutely love) even if you only have just 15 minutes a day, that is 91 hours a year!!

Would love to make Pumpkin Carving Contest. So fun! Also, O’ Say Can you Sew would be great to use up red, white, and blue scraps. I love tiny triangles, especially using triangle paper.
