Spring Fun and Beyond at Primitive Gatherings!

Hey there, welcome back! Many of you have been asking for it and after much anticipation, I’m super excited to finally be able to share the tentative 2023 event schedule for The Gathering and Primitive Gatherings with you (this is pretty much it but there might still be a tweak or two, which I will announce as they come)! As warmer weather does its best to push winter out of our lives for another year, we have been busy like bees brainstorming and planning relaxing retreats, educational classes and clubs, and other fun events that you’re not going to want to miss!

Whether you’re looking for a fun group to sew with once a week just for giggles, a club to attend on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, a full retreat, or just a one-time class, we have a nice selection of fun activities planned to fit your schedule… and your taste! Groups like Wool Club, Hexi Club, Bernina Embroidery Club, Cross Stitch Club, Featherweight Club, and more, typically meet one to two times monthly at The Gathering. Bring your works in progress or a project you’d like to start… Get help from your fellow stitchers while meeting new people and making new friends! We have clubs for all sorts of things with new ones starting every year. Have an idea for one you’d like to be in? Let me know in the comments! I’m always curious to know what people are currently into and want to see more of.

If you’re not able to make a monthly commitment to a designated club but you’d like to attend a one-day work shop or multi-day retreat, we’ve got you covered! We are also offering an assortment of upcoming educational classes this spring including several by Bernina featuring tips and tricks on how to use your serger, how to embroider, longarm quilting, and more! We also hope to have another session of Gloria’s basket making class along with several other classes geared toward both beginning and intermediate stitchers and quilters alike!

Not really into the group class thing but still like to be sewcial with other stitchers? Come to Sit & Stitch! Bring your projects and set up shop for the day surrounded by likeminded, creative people all doing the same! Enjoy excellent lighting, multiple steam stations, and large spacious sewing tables equipped with electrical outlets. Plus – we feed you! All for only 25 bucks a session or $40 for all day (both AM & PM sessions are not always offered each week – please see the schedule for when AM vs. PM, or both sessions are available). Bring a friend or come alone and make new ones. It’s always a stitch at Sit & Stitch!

Are your kids looking for something to do after school? We even have something special planned just for them! Round up the troops and bring them to after school Kid’s Camp at The Gathering! Your kids will have a blast with Miss Adrienne as they learn the basics of sewing and how to successfully navigate projects from start to completion. All boys and girls ages 7 and up are welcome! Later on in the summer kids will also enjoy our Fairy Garden event coming up in June where you and your child or grandchild can make a Fairy Garden together… Doesn’t that sound like a great day? I can’t wait! Call Gloria at 920.778.8031 for more details!
Not only do we have educational events going all year long but there are also a few in-store and on-site sale events that will be featured this year as well. Like our Purge and Splurge sale and our Summer Sizzle events coming up in June where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy open sewing, shopping, exclusive event projects, and FUN! I know for a fact that this event is going to be one for the books considering we are 100% full for vendors and have been for a week already! I can’t wait to see what everyone brings to the table. Thinking about joining us for this exciting purge extravaganza? Come stay with us the night before the sale at The Gathering and get first dibs on shopping for a full hour before the general public is admitted the morning of the sale! Call Gloria at 920.778.8031 for lodging rates and information.
Now, I know those of you who are not local and not able to physically attend are probably squirming in your seats right about now, and I’m sorry about that. I wish you could all be here!!! I might be doing alright with this whole quilt shop thing, but since I’m not doing quite well enough to buy you all plane tickets and put you up for the week for free, I’ll have to stick with what I can do to include everyone in the PG excitement. This schedule also features dates and times of when I will be LIVE online, whether it be for STITCH with Lisa Bongean, on our new selling platform Comment SOLD, or any other LIVE event, they’re all listed so you can plan ahead! Ready to take a look? Click the link below for your printable copy of the 2023 event schedule for The Gathering!
Speaking of STITCH with Lisa Bongean, if you missed it last week you can always watch the replay on my YouTube channel by clicking HERE. We’ll be going LIVE again tomorrow at our usual time of 1:00 p.m. CST where we’ll be talking about all things cross stitch! Cross stitching is making a huge come back and we’re excited to be part of it. Join us to see all the new things we have in the shop for cross stitch! Click the button below to watch. See you there! ~Lisa

Hi Karen! The details are still being worked out on that one. You can always give Gloria a call over at The Gathering. She has the most insight on future events as they unfold! The number there is 920.778.8031.

You are sooo rrrriight! I am squirming in my seat! Lol. I’ m sure you are constantly being encouraged and coerced to open another location. If you opened another location in the western New York area you’d feel right at home. We have lots of snow too. 😆. Many many PG groupies up this way that would do cartwheels in a blizzard if you made that happen. BTW. Loving Comment Sold. Renee B

I have a question or maybe an idea. Have you thought about doing a Zoom Class. Sell a project kit then have a few Zoom Classes on finishing the kit. That way your followers all over could have a class.

HI Cheryl! Yes! Zoom classes and clubs are in the works. They will be part of my subscription material, which is coming soon! We just need a few more hours in the day…

Reading your blog as I take my last flight to ATW. Traveling to attend the basket making class with my sister on April 7th! We are celebrating her birthday.

Have fun at your class and tell your sister happy birthday!

    Hi Lisa,

I can’t get to your shop or the Gathering. Did you think about virtual classes? I would be willing as I’m sure others in my situation would be. Just something to think about.

    Thank you,
    Abby (Phyllis)

Lucky quilters and stitchers who live close by! I’d love to join in on the clubs and Sit and Stitch days. I had the opportunity to participate once and loved every minute!! I met super nice ladies and of course got to spend time with Lisa and Gloria💕

I would so love to be there for everything. If only it didn’t involve at least two flights one transatlantic. Then I wouldn’t have enough cash to spend in the gathering, boohooo. I found you too late to do say can you sew but still think I must do it. You look amazing Lisa, definitely blonde and slim. Nick is a lucky man. Love your show and all the team. Best wishes from SWFrance❤️❤️❤️❤️
