Hey friends! Happy May Day to all of you, and what a May Day it’s been! The last thing any of us wanted to see out the window while waking up this morning was the full blown snow storm currently happening outside but sadly, that’s exactly what we got. Whoever is in charge of this mess is apparently confused… April showers are clearly supposed to bring May flowers. There’s nothing in that rhyme about snow and slop to my knowledge, so I’m feeling kind of salty about it. On the brighter side, as you know, if there is one thing we’re good at up here in WI it’s finding ways to be productive even when the weather is acting up… Especially us stitchers – obviously! You mean, I have to say inside and stitch all day? Awe shucks. I’ll try to find a way to handle it. LOL!

I’d love to say that tomorrow’s prognosis is better than today’s, but unfortunately – it’s not. It looks like we have to wait until at least Wednesday to even begin seeing any kind of minor improvement on this highly offensive attitude Mother Nature keeps throwing around. Ugh, I know… She can be such a drag! If you’re local and suffering right along with us, at least know you’re not alone. In fact, if you need a little pick-me-up I have the perfect solution to bring a little light to your life, and carry you through until it’s worth going outdoors again. If you’ve never attended a Sit & Stitch event at The Gathering, now is the perfect time to give it a try before the sun decides to stay out for the rest of the summer!

Come spend the day with us at The Gathering! Sit & Stitch is a no pressure, fun opportunity to put a dent in your works in progress, or to break out a new one you’ve been meaning to start. Simply bring your gear and set up shop for the day. Surround yourself with likeminded, creative people who are all doing the same! Enjoy excellent lighting, multiple steam stations, and large spacious sewing tables, conveniently equipped with electrical outlets. Plus – we feed you! All for only 25 bucks a session or $40 for all day (both AM & PM sessions are not always offered each week – please see the schedule for when AM vs. PM, or both sessions are available).

Our next sessions of Sit & Stitch are tomorrow, May 2nd from either 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. CST, or 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. CST (you must sign up for each session ahead of time if you plan to stay for both so we know how many to prepare meals for). If you can’t make this week’s sessions don’t worry, there is another one planned for Tuesday, May 16th from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. If that still doesn’t work for you hang tight – there are a few extra opportunities for you to attend this month on different days that might. You may have noticed that normally our Sit & Stitch sessions are held on Tuesdays and only once or twice a month, depending on what’s going on over at The Gathering. However, for whatever reason we needed to cancel a couple of events and switch around some others which opened up a bit of space on the schedule during the second week of May. We thought it would be fun to throw an Open Sit & Stitch during that week to give those who haven’t been able to make it out on our normal Tuesdays a chance to give it a try. Our additional dates this month are Wednesday, May 10th, and Thursday, May 11th from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. CST each day. The cost is still only $25 per person/per session to join the fun, and also includes lunch!

If you’ve been thinking about joining us for a Sit & Stitch session but haven’t yet, get off the fence! It really is a lot of fun and a great opportunity to get one-on-one help with any project or skill you might be struggling with. Consider yourself an expert? Come and help others or just hang out! You never know, you might learn something yourself or make a new friend… Either way, the delicious food and fellowship makes it all worth it one way or the other.
