Hey gang! I’m glad you’re here because I can’t wait to tell you about the arrival of our much anticipated new website – coming next week! If you recall, we have been talking about its debut for a loonnnng time, and we’re currently almost six months past our goal… but if you’ve ever dealt with the pains of building a new website, you know how excruciating the process can be! That’s why I’m so absolutely tickled to be able to tell you that it’s finally happening this coming week on Thursday, May 18th, 2023 – and for real this time!
As exciting as this news is, I do need to mention a few things that will help make the transition over to the new site easier for everyone. The first thing I want to talk about is PDF downloads and how the system change will affect them. I want to remind everyone who might have a PDF download sitting in their current account to be sure to download it and save it somewhere safe by Saturday, June 30th, 2023 because YOUR DOWNLOADS WILL NOT TRANSFER TO THE NEW SITE AND WILL NOT BE SAVED! In other words, because our system is changing those files will no longer be available after the old site is shut down. If you miss the deadline to download you will not be reimbursed for lost files, so PLEASE! Download them now while you still have time!!! After June 30th they will be gone for good!
The second thing I need bring to everyone’s attention is that in preparation to make the switch over to the new site, our current website will be CLOSED starting Monday, May 15th, 2023 and remain down through Wednesday, May 17th. The new site will then launch the morning of Thursday, May 18th, 2023.PLEASE NOTE:If you already have an account on our current website, your information will not transfer over to the new site. This means that you will need to go onto the new site and re-register your account information before you will be able to make an order using your new account. All you need to do is go to the login area of the new site, enter your current login name, and select “I forgot my password,” then follow the prompts (if you do not already have an account set up from the old site, use the “create account” option instead). The system will then send you an email with a link where you will be able to establish a new password for your new account. Next, we ask that you verify that all your personal information is correct within your account (the spelling of your name, address, phone number, email, etc. – it should all transfer over automatically, but you never know). Once you’ve done that, you’re in! As far as stored credit card information goes, unfortunately that will NOT transfer over. You will, however, be able to re-save it in the system when you make your first purchase using your newly established account.
There is good news for those of you that are enrolled in our Subscription Boxes. All of your personal and credit card information WILL roll over to the new system. We are still using the same payment gateway so the new site launching will not affect your Subscription Box. Gift card balances will also transfer, however, we are still currently working on how it will be done. We should have that all nailed down in time for the launch on Thursday, and will inform everyone then.
Isn’t this exciting??? It almost feels like we’re waiting for Santa on Christmas eve… Hey, and you know I realize that I’m not the only one who’s been anxiously chomping at the bit for the big day to arrive. Because of that, I want you to know how much I appreciate your patience and understanding while we worked our way through the weeds of this process. That’s why as a way to say thanks for being such troopers, I’m going to give anyone who makes a purchase using their newly verified account 15% OFF their first order on the new site between May 18th and May 25th, 2023 (NOTE: restrictions apply – offer does not include sale items, sewing machines, pre-orders, subscription boxes, specialty items, Valdani Threads, or Creative Grids Rulers. This discount will only be applied if you are making your purchase through an established PG customer account. Customers checking out using a “guest” account will NOT be eligible for the offer)! We really couldn’t accomplish everything that we do here at Primitive Gatherings without all of you, so I feel like it’s the least I can do… Thank you, thank you, thank you, and enjoy!
Next up on my list of announcements is CommentSold. Because our agenda is going to be a little wonky with the new site launch next week, our CommentSold schedule is going to be different too. Instead of our usual Tuesday/Thursday broadcasts, we’re going to switch it up a bit and do Monday/Tuesday instead. Our first broadcast on “All Things Christmas” will be Monday, May 15th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. CST. Then, our second broadcast for the week, “All Things Autumn” will be the very next day on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. STITCH with Lisa will be at its usual time on Thursday at 1:00 CST.
Whew! I think that’s enough information for one post. I don’t know about you but I’m certainly ready to let this Friday be Friday already! Before I go I have one more extremely important tidbit of information to share – this week’s comment winners, of course! So without further ado, put your hands together for this week’s lucky winners – Sharon S. and Pat R.! Thanks for your comments last week (note: I do not post last names or email addresses for your privacy, so if you think you’re one of the lucky winners this week please be sure to check your email. You can also contact Heidi at heidin@primitivegatherings.us if you have not already received a prize confirmation letter from her. If you think you are a winner but have not received a prize confirmation email, be sure to check your spam folder – it’s not often but our emails will sometimes end up there)!!! If you’d like to be considered for a prize it’s super easy. All you have to do is leave me a comment and you’re automatically eligible! It really doesn’t get any easier than that…
Alright friends, time to get out of here for the night. Have a great weekend and do your best to keep your names out of the paper! I will see you all next week for the big launch – I really can’t wait!!! Take care and I will see you all soon! ~Lisa
Hi Lisa!
Good luck with your new website. Thank you for the hard work you and your staff do, it is noticed and appreciated. Thanks for this info for next week, I hope it all falls into place with no problems (yea, right! Hehe)
Well, I’m not sure how you juggle everything you’ve got going on, but I’m sure it’s the excellent PG staffing that makes your world go around. I’m sure we’re all looking forward to checking out the new website and that 15% discount. Thanks so much for that!
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the Primitive Gatherings staff, and to you, Lisa!
If you are in a subscription the information should transfer over (fingers crossed). If there are issues we will certainly be on it until everything is resolved. Thank you for your loyalty and patience!
Thank you and your staff for all your hard work getting the new website up and going. So excited for you! Looking forward to using an easier website. But then again I might end up buying more. Lol
Thanks for all the important and very exciting info, Lisa. Good job Heidi and anyone else who worked on the website. Good things come to those who wait. Right?
Comment sold sounds fun on Monday. Let s face it. All your comment solds are fun
Happy Mom,s Day!
Thanks for saying that Renee! In addition to Heidi, I’d love to thank Jess and Kali as well! Also have to give a shout-out to the real “behind the scenes” people, Mark and Notosha. My dream team…
Looking forward to the new website. Despite the many challenges for you and your staff, your dream will come true. (And I loved the tour of The Gathering)!!
Huge congratulations to all on your new website! I built one once and am well aware of how labor intensive loading all those photos can be. After waiting all these months it will be almost like welcoming the arrival of a new baby! I can’t wait to admire all the eye candy!
They say the only certain things in life, death and taxes. I have an addition to that list – change. Change is hard and can be chaos figuring out all of the little issues once the site goes live. Deep breath, you will get through this.
I had an opportunity to stop by your store this past Monday. WOW. The quilts, the staff and the overall experience was great. I can not believe all the ideas and patterns I got. Being from New York I never thought I would get the chance to shop in the store and I’m so glad I did. Thanks to all who made it such a pleasant experience.
Looking forward to the updates on the new website. Really enjoyed watching the “pretend” guest spending the night. Looks like a wonderful time to be had.
Hi Lisa, thanks for the reminder. I have already saved my PDF’s, but have a question about pre orders. Will those transfer to the new website? I’m waiting on fat quarter towers of Rustic Gatherings and Joyful Gatherings. I’m pretty sure they’re not released yet, but want to be sure my pre orders don’t drop off into cyber space! Lol. Thanks for all you do and congrats on the new website. Happy Mother’s Day to all.
Hi Fran! We print hard copies of all of our orders, so even if it did get lost in cyber space (which it won’t) we still have a copy of it. Thanks for the order and happy stitching!!!
This is really exciting! I quickly logged in to check what fabrics I was using for the 1 year quilt project just in case I need more! I am so excited to see what the new website looks like. All the time and hardworking your team put in will surely be worth it! Happy Mother’s day too!
