Twilight Stars Quilt-Along – Block Release Ten

Holy moly – Friday sure didn’t take long to get here this week! Summer can slow down anytime now. I don’t know about you, but I’m not quite ready to give up these beautiful, hot, sunny days for sweater weather just yet… I’m still on retreat down in TX with my Moda family for another couple of days, and man am I loving this heat! It’s been over 105° the entire time I’ve been down here, and I am enjoying every minute of it. If you were able to catch my LIVE show yesterday on STITCH with Lisa Bongean, you got a sneak peek at the retreat house where I’m staying, and all the goodies I that I get to bring back with me to WI. The place we are staying is called Box Car Ranch Retreats and is located in the heart of horse country, just six minutes north of Denton, Texas. If you’re into quilting retreats, this place is a must-see! Owners Amy and Laura Turner decided to turn their 50 acre working ranch into a beautiful destination quilting location that includes a quilt shop for Box Car Quilts, a larger event facility that houses day retreats, classes, fun outings, plus the newly revamped C.W. that is now C.W. Antiques and General Store. It’s really cool! If you’d like to know more about it you can check out everything they have to offer by clicking HERE!

Between all the delicious food, fun activities, and of course stitching the days away with my Moda sisters and brothers, it’s going to be sad to pack up and leave on Sunday. On the other hand, I will also be happy to get back onto WI soil after a long week away from Anchor Point and my sweetheart. Traveling always tuckers a gal out so it will be nice to have a minute to settle back into regular life at home before the next work week rolls in. While I’m here, I have a few projects that I brought along to keep myself busy, including a bazillion blocks for my upcoming Joyful Gatherings SAL, Fresh Cut Garden, and of course some Twilight Stars QAL blocks to balance it out. If you’d like to see my progress on all these projects, feel free to watch the replay of Thursday’s LIVE where I show them all off by clicking HERE (start video at 35:15 for works in progress discussion)!

Despite being on retreat with multiple projects on my “To Do” list, I’ve been managing to stay ahead of the game with my Twilight Stars blocks as well. How are yours coming along? If you’re all caught up through Week Nine, you should have 18 completed blocks, with two more coming your way right now. Blocks for Week Ten are #11 and #26!

If you’re new to the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along and are wondering where to get the patterns for these blocks, they can be found in my book Triangle Gatherings, which you can purchase on our website by clicking HERE. A blog post I did explaining the full details on Twilight Stars can be found by clicking HERE. The full list of details and required supplies can be found at the Twilight Stars Info Page by hitting the button below!

As always, I’d love to know what you think of my blocks! Notice anything… “different” this week? Let me know in the comments for a chance to win a prize! Plus, remember to post photos of your progress for another chance to win one of Heidi’s famous care packages. All you have to do is post a photo of your completed blocks each week before the release of the next batch, including the required book Triangle Gatherings and Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper in the picture. Please also include the hashtag #TwilightStarsQAL in your post! Heidi will choose a weekly random winner until the end of the QAL. I announce the winner each week during my LIVE show every Thursday, so make sure you post before then. Congratulations to this week’s lucky winner, Sharon Simmons and her handsome helper Bentley!

Alright everyone, back to retreat I must go! But before I sign off I want to give a huge thanks to Ruth T. and Linda V. for their comments on the blog last week. To say thanks Heidi will be sending you a little treat! Please email her at heidin@primitivegatherings.us to confirm you are the winner! I appreciate every single comment that’s made so please… Keep leaving them! There might even be a nifty little prize in it for ya… Have a great weekend! I will see you soon. ~Lisa

I think I see a pumpkin amongst the flowers. Sometimes that happens.

I’m really bad at those puzzles where you look at two pictures and figure out what is different about them! I did notice the old sewing machine, which I am guessing is a treadle in your retreat house. I hope you are enjoying your retreat and come back recharged—I hope to retreat at The Gathering some day.

Time to get started on my next two blocks. I laid out all the previous blocks to get an idea how it will look. Going to be beautiful!

Your blocks are beautiful as usual. I don’t see anything different about them from previous weeks but if I had to guess I would say they are not your fabric line but the spellbound fabrics and maybe you sewed them on a feather weight machine. I don’t see any caramels but you probably ate all of them.

    You have a FREE machine!!
JK. You are using a featherweight type machine although it is not like our regular Singer Featherweight. It appears to be made by the FREE company. Interesting!

So far I’ve been able to keep up with your sew along. It’s so nice to just check my emails for the next blocks.. I’m hoping this works also for Joyful Gatherings sew along. Glad you got a chance to get away.
Thank you again for all your hard work & your team!

I am really enjoying this sew along. I love seeing how different everyone’s blocks are, even though we are making the same blocks. Thanks for such a fun sew along. Every week I look forward to Friday and seeing the new blocks.

What a great sew-a-long/online class of sorts. Learning a lot and with exception of changing my background color, I am caught up
    Appreciate the challenge and support

I sure enjoyed your YouTube video this week while on retreat. Looked like so much fun! Love the magnetic pin bowls you shared as gifts to your Moda sisters. Speaking of sisters, my sister lives in the Sherman TX area and has visited Boxcar Quilt Shop a few times on various shop hops! Now she can’t wait to see the new store! Safe travels home, Lisa. Thanks for all you do for us.

I notice a difference in the twilight stars quilt blocks. There is a background square in the center of the half square triangle blocks. That’s new!! Right!! You used spellbound fabrics instead of Rustic Gatherings.

Blocks look great as always! Is this the first week you used a different line besides Rustic Gatherings fabrics? Retreat sounds great…off to watch the video while I sew. And THANK YOU! So fun to win a little sumpin’ sumpin’! 🙂 What a fun surprise!

I enjoyed your Live while you were away in Texas. What a fabulous experience and I am sure you soaked up all sorts of inspiration. I really need to get my but in gear this week to get my blocks done. I also started my Red White Green quilt this week. I hope to make progress in the coming weeks!

We are away this week on vacation so I am behind now on the blocks, but know I will catch up. I watched the live last night and loved seeing all the treasures you found on the trip.
