Twilight Stars Block Release – Week Twelve

Hey everyone, T.G.I.F.! Labor Day weekend is officially upon us as we prepare for another hot and steamy few days at PG. The summer season is clearly refusing to leave without a fight with temps near 100° forecasted through Monday (heat and humidity warnings were in place already this morning). I don’t know about you, but I’m ready! I can’t wait to chill out at home for a long relaxing weekend with Nick and the grandkids. Traveling over the holidays has long lost it’s appeal, especially since I have everything I could ever need right here at Anchor Point. Living on the lake certainly has its advantages when the weather heats up like this… From boating, fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, to jet skiing – we’ve got it all literally in the back yard. Leaving to go hang out somewhere else for any extended period of time simply doesn’t make sense anymore. Not to mention, something about staying home and enjoying everything I’ve worked so hard for is much more appealing at this point – call me crazy!

What are your plans for the big holiday weekend? Do you travel or stay home? Is there a big party in your near future, or are you a more of a “layin’ low” type of person? Either way, a long weekend always means there is the potential for more time to stitch! That works out well for those of you participating in the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along since as of right now, you have two new blocks to work on. This week’s blocks are #22 and #91!

Want to join the fun? One of the cool things about this QAL is that it’s never too late to start! You can find all the details on the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along by clicking HERE! An explanation about how the quilt-along works and the required supplies can be found at the Twilight Stars Info Page by hitting the button below! Patterns are found in my book Triangle Gatherings, which you can purchase on our website by clicking HERE.

Like prizes? Remember to post photos of your progress for a chance to win one of Heidi’s famous goodie bags! All you have to do is post a photo of your completed blocks each week before the release of the next batch, including the required book Triangle Gatherings and Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper in the picture. Please also include the hashtag #TwilightStarsQAL in your post! Heidi will choose a weekly random winner until the end of the QAL. I announce the winner each week during my LIVE show every Thursday, so make sure you post before noon central standard time that day. Congratulations to this week’s lucky winner, Sharon Tseu and her trusty assistant “Jack.” Nice work you two!

…and since we’re on the topic of winners, let’s keep it going! Congratulations to Ganene B. and Jeannette N. – this week’s lucky comment winners! In other words.. They’re getting a prize just for leaving me a comment here on the blog. Want one for yourself? Don’t forget to comment for a chance to win (if you think you’re one of today’s lucky prize winners, please check your email! Heidi will be contacting you shortly to confirm your prize. Feeling lucky? Leave me a comment and you might be the next lucky winner)!

Alright everyone, that’s it for today! One quick reminder – we will be CLOSED Monday, September 4th, 2023 in observance of the holiday. We will reopen Tuesday, September 5th at 10:00 a.m. With that, I wish you all a safe and happy Labor Day weekend. Make sure to drink LOTS of water, make good choices, and most importantly… HAVE FUN! See you all next week! ~Lisa

I’m a stay at home kind of gal. I hope to do a lot of stitching and sewing. It is too hot down in Louisiana for much outside! Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!

Im not going outside in this heat!! Good excuse to be sewing twilight stars and multiple other projects. My plan is to get the Fall Pumpkin Stand wool applique kit cut out and ready to stitch. Love these little pumpkins!

To be honest, I will be hiding in my sewing room and enjoying the air conditioning—it’s supposed to be ugly hot all next week here in SE Iowa. (I wouldn’t mind a couple of brats off of the grill though! And some potato salad.)

For someone who is seriously angularly challenged, this quilt along has been a bit hard, but I am loving every second of it.

Working on block 12 with my quilting mentor at the beach in Washington state. Also putting my party of 4 on her long arm. Matt. (Not Matt’s wife as mentioned in this week’s live stream)

I have been away from my sewing machine for 2 weeks and have another to go before I get home and have a chance to catch up with my Twinkling Stars quilt-along. I am superintendent of Quilts at the Nebraska State Fair. We have 480 quilts from 252 exhibitors ranging in age from 93 to 6.

I’m like you Lisa. I like to stay home on Holiday weekends too. Being in the east coast , I’m a Jersey girl, too much traffic ! And I can’t stitch in the car, it makes me car sick. Happy Labor Day !

I’m late to get started – but decided to work backwards so I can seam (pun intended) up to date! I am doing 8 inch blocks – but those 4 inch centers are so darned cute! Loving the starched fabrics and open pressed seams!! 💜💜💜

We went to visit my brother and his family 5 hours away. Saw a new great nephew and played with 3 little ones and 4 dogs. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Thanks, Lisa, for all the great tips on how to have projects ready to be worked on when you have a spare 15 minutes or so during last Thursday’s Live with Lisa. I have long used the “15 minute” idea for not only my creative projects but for household chores, calling someone that I struggle with, paying bills, etc. It always surprises me how much I can actually get done in those 15 minutes, especially in my crafting when I’m prepared.

I am loving all these cute blocks. I can not wait to see what the finished quilt will look like. Thanks so much for putting this together for us!
