Hey, hey! Are you as excited as I am to be back again for yet another Twilight Stars Quilt-Along block release? I hope you’re ready, because here we go! This time around, block numbers 77 and 90 are making their debut, just in time to become your weekend project. Just like all the blocks in the series, these two are in no shortage of half-square triangles to keep you on your toes – but fear not! Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper will make light work of what used to be considered a thorn in your side. Need to stock up? No problem. You can find what you need on our website by clicking HERE! For those of you who are new to using triangle paper or never have before, I highly recommend following my list of tips and tricks to help you get into the swing of things. Feel free to download and print a copy to keep handy in your sewing room by clicking the button below!

By this point in the quilt along you should have 26 completed blocks if you’re keeping up with the release schedule. That’s a lot of blocks in what seems like not a lot of time!!! Kind of amazing isn’t it? Quilt-alongs really are great way to “trick yourself” into staying motivated and on task all the way through to finishing. I mean, how many unfinished projects do you have laying around that you weren’t quite excited enough about to complete? That’s one of the reasons I love QAL’s like this – you can accomplish so much without even realizing it. The weeks fly by barely noticed and before you know it, you have a finished quilt to show for it! Plus it’s fun to have the support and inspiration of others working on the same project. I love it!
As far as my own blocks go, you probably already know that I’m using my Rustic Gatherings fabric line combined with Jackie MacDonald’s Halloween-themed collection, Spellbound. Both lines feature color palettes including rusty oranges and rich blacks, along with some nice grey selections from Rustic that go together beautifully. As always, I’m curious to hear what other are doing with their projects, so let me know in the comments! Are you following my lead and using the same fabric lines I am, or did you go another route? Is your quilt scrappy or is every bit of it strategically planned? Dish the deets – I want to know! You might even win a prize for it. 🙂

Ahh yes, prizes… SO many prizes! Special thanks to everyone who has been sharing their finshed blocks on social media. I’m sure you’ve noticed that there have been several happy prize winners so far as a result, with a bunch more to come. Want to be one of those winners? All you have to do is post a photo of your completed blocks each week before the release of the next batch, including the required book Triangle Gatherings and Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper in the picture. Please also include the hashtag #TwilightStarsQAL in your post! Heidi will choose a winner randomly each week until the end of the QAL, which we will announce during my LIVE show on Thursday. Super easy! Just ask this week’s lucky winner, Kathy Schaller Saunders. I love how she also showed us her other completed blocks displayed next to each other in her photo. It really gives you a great idea of what this quilt is going to become. Nice work Kathy!

Since it’s Friday I have even more prizes to give away to reward those of you who take the time to leave me comments here on the blog. This week, Special thanks goes out to Lorraine W. and Sylvia M. for doing just that! Woo hoo! See how easy it is? Don’t forget to comment, like, and share people!
Well friends, this seems like a good place to stop and call it quits for the weekend. I’m going to spend the rest of my day biking up in Door County with a friend so I’m anxious to get on the road. It’s a beautiful day out there with sunny skies and temps sitting right around 75°. It really doesn’t get much more pleasant than that! Enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you all back in PG Land on Monday. Take care everyone! ~Lisa
