Hey stitchers! I hope you’re having a great day. After a nice visit with my good friend and fellow quilt designer Alysha, I’m busy making my way from CA to TX today. It’s a long trip involving a whole lot of travel, and all the wonderful hassle that comes with it. I will certainly be happy to reach my final destination later this evening, so I can relax a bit before spending the day tomorrow setting up my booth at Market.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with what I mean when I refer to “Market,” let me explain. The International Quilt Market is a biannual wholesale trade show for the quilting and textile industries that is held every spring and fall in Houston, TX. It is only open to vendors with industry credentials as either an industry professional or buyer. A buyer is either a retailer like an online fabric shop, a brick-and-mortar store, or a manufacturer, importer, or distributor of sewing industry products. An industry professional is someone like a teacher, designer, sales rep., publisher, or longarm quilter. I suppose I qualify as pretty much all of that – LOL! Anyway, I’ll talk more about it once I’m home and I have more time. For now, let’s focus on why I’m actually posting today…

If you are participating in the Joyful Gatherings Quilt-Along, this blog post is actually for you! In case you missed it, today during our LIVE show, Jess showed off the latest block release in the QAL – #14. You already know that blocks are usually released in alternating quantities from one, to two at a time. According to the current schedule, this week’s releases technically should have included block #’s 14 and #15. However, since I have been so busy getting ready for the show, I was only able to finish the video tutorial for block #14 before I left. Because of this I have decided to hold off on the release of block #15 until next week when I am back in the studio and have time to finish the video tutorial in time for the next block release.

That being said, Block #15 will release this coming Thursday, November 2nd, 2023 along with block #16. We will then go back to our regular schedule with block #’s 17 and #18 releasing on Thursday, November 9th, 2023, and #19 releasing on the following Thursday, etc.

In other words, aside from this change (so far) we are not interrupting the original release schedule going forward. I hope this makes sense!
