Twilight Stars Quilt-Along – Block Release 20

Hey everyone! In case you were wondering, I’m happy to report that I made it to Houston safe and sound last night without too many bumps. After a hot shower and a good night’s rest, I felt energized and excited to get over to Market first thing this morning to start preparing for the big show. I recently mentioned that today is solely dedicated to setting up my booth space and I’ve been hard at work doing just that. As you can see I’m focusing on my upcoming Christmas line, “Dear Santa” scheduled to release in May, 2024.

If you’ve ever done a trade show of any kind, you know how much work they can be. Setup can certainly take some time considering everything needs to be perfect for opening day. I will admit there is probably less care involved in teardown at the end, which I’m sure is why it seems to go a lot faster… But to be fair, I suppose we’re all a bit barn sour by that point, and ready to get the show on the road back home. The hustle and bustle of the International Quilt Market is totally worth it though. I get a chance to see what’s new, all while showing off what I have to offer as well. Plus, I get to network with all sorts of new people, and catch up with old friends in the industry as well. It’s definitely something I look forward to every year.

I have plenty to do yet before Market officially opens tomorrow, but before I get back to the grindstone let’s take a few minutes to talk about today’s Twilight Stars block releases! If you’re managing to keep up with the release schedule you should have 38 finished blocks in your stack so far, with two more coming to you right now. Today’s block releases are #65 and #68!

New to the Twilight Stars game? Patterns for the Twilight Stars Quilt-Along can be found in my book Triangle Gatherings (required to participate along with a few other items), which can be purchased on the Primitive Gatherings website by clicking HERE. Blocks will be posted every Friday around NOON Central Standard Time, with a correlating blog post shortly after. Block releases can be found both here on the blog and in the “Quilt-Along” area under “Twilight Stars” at Never even heard of Twilight Stars? You can read all about it by clicking HERE. In addition, a full list of details and required supplies can be found at the Twilight Stars Info Page by hitting the button below!

As always, thanks so much to everyone who continues to post their finished blocks on social media. It’s really become quite the collection of work – you should all be proud! Not sure how to go about posting your blocks? All you have to do is post a photo of your completed blocks each week before the release of the next batch, including the required book Triangle Gatherings and Primitive Gatherings Triangle Paper in the picture. Please also include the hashtag #TwilightStarsQAL in your post! Heidi will choose a winner each week until the end of the QAL, which we will announce during my LIVE show on Thursday. The prize for sharing Week #19 blocks goes to Cherrie Kridler! Beautiful work Cherrie – and we love your cool purple cutting mat!

Of course we also have to pay tribute to those of you who leave comments here on the blog as well. I’ll never stop saying how much I appreciate each and every one of you! Special thanks goes out to Leticia J. and Teresa E. You also have a little something coming your way (if you think you are one of these lucky winners, please check your email for a prize confirmation letter from!)! Thank you both!!! Feeling left out of the PG prize frenzy? Don’t be shy! You always have a chance to be a prize winner just by leaving a comment for me here on the blog! And remember… If you don’t play, you can’t win! It’s just that easy.

Well everyone, I hate to cut it short but like I said, I have a ton to do in the next few hours to get ready for SHOW TIME! I will see everyone next week once I get back to WI and have a chance to get settled in. I’ll be LIVE this Thursday, November 2nd at 1:00 p.m. CST for STITCH with Lisa, and then again around 2:15 p.m. CST for CommentSold. You can also catch Jess earlier in the week on Tuesday, October 31st aat 10:00 a.m. CST for CommentSold as well. Oh! And don’t forget… You have through Sunday October 29th, 2023 to enjoy 20% OFF all fabric pre-cuts and yardage (sale does NOT include Tilda or pre-order items). It’s going to be cold this weekend. Sounds like perfect weather to stay in and get your Christmas shopping started to me… Take care! ~LHB

Love the look of your booth, all that red and white inspiration! I remember back a few years ago,I traveled from WI to see your booth in DesMoine IA and the feeling like a was a little bit back home in a comfort zone seeing Primitive Gathering and talked with your sons at the hot tub which they were enjoying after a long days work! Those shows are a tremendous amount of work but great hands on exposure for anyone not knowing about you and the shop.

I had to get my background from several stores. How much do we need for the finishing triangles? Is that listed by size anywhere?

    1. lisabongean Avatar

Hi Nancy! That should be listed in the instructions for whichever block size you decide to go with.

I absolutely adore that giant santa! Oh my stars I love it!! Speaking of stars…I am slightly behind on my Twilight Stars QAL, but one of the things I love about it is that I can catch up when I have the time. They are so beautiful! Enjoy quilt market! The booth looks awesome.

Lisa, you never fail to impress! I remember way back when I bought your first book at IQF in Houston, you signed it for me and I knew then you would be a CREATIVE force. Have fun and enjoy Market & Festival!
