Hey everyone! In case you were wondering, I’m happy to report that I made it to Houston safe and sound last night without too many bumps. After a hot shower and a good night’s rest, I felt energized and excited to get over to Market first thing this morning to start preparing for the big show. I recently mentioned that today is solely dedicated to setting up my booth space and I’ve been hard at work doing just that. As you can see I’m focusing on my upcoming Christmas line, “Dear Santa” scheduled to release in May, 2024.
If you’ve ever done a trade show of any kind, you know how much work they can be. Setup can certainly take some time considering everything needs to be perfect for opening day. I will admit there is probably less care involved in teardown at the end, which I’m sure is why it seems to go a lot faster… But to be fair, I suppose we’re all a bit barn sour by that point, and ready to get the show on the road back home. The hustle and bustle of the International Quilt Market is totally worth it though. I get a chance to see what’s new, all while showing off what I have to offer as well. Plus, I get to network with all sorts of new people, and catch up with old friends in the industry as well. It’s definitely something I look forward to every year.
I have plenty to do yet before Market officially opens tomorrow, but before I get back to the grindstone let’s take a few minutes to talk about today’s Twilight Stars block releases! If you’re managing to keep up with the release schedule you should have 38 finished blocks in your stack so far, with two more coming to you right now. Today’s block releases are #65 and #68!
